Heb - Free Ibuprofen, Vicks and cheap Lysol :)

I hit a few stores today between my lunch hour and after work to use up coupons expiring today. One of the coupons I wanted to use was the Vicks $3/2, the Vicks $1 off and I wanted to scout out the pricing on the Lysol deal I prefaced here.

I was super excited that while I was picking up my Vicks coughdrops (free after coupon) I noticed a HEB store coupon for a free 24 ct Ibuprofen when you buy any Vicks product, woo hoo!
I went ahead and purchased two sets of the Lysol deal since you need 3 items on your receipt (since the toilet bowl cleaners are two packs, they only count as one on the receipt)

Here is how my transaction played out:
12 Vicks Cough drops .99 each = 11.88
5 HEB Ibuprofen $1 each = $5
2 Lysol 2 pack toilet bowl cleaner $3.76 = $7.52
2 Lysol dual action wipes $2.48 each = $4.96
-$16 (4 Vicks $3/2 and 4 Vicks $1)
-$5 (5 HEB Yellow coupons for free ibuprofen wyb Vicks)
-$4.96 (2 HEB Yellow coupons for free wipes wyb 2 Lysol toilet bowl cleaners)
-.50/2 Lysol toilet bowl cleaner IP (this beeped but cashier overrode since I bought 2 2 packs)
=$2.90 oop

Will mail off for $2.48 rebate for the free wipes when you buy 3 Lysol products(one being wipes)
Cost: .42 + stamp

*The Vicks $3/2 coupons expire today as do the $1 Vicks, but we will get new $1 off Vicks coupons this weekend, making the Vicks and Ibuprofen still free.
Since you won't be getting overage after today, you might want to consider this rebate for the purchase price of the dual action wipes back.
You would pay $3.76 for the 2 pack of the toilet bowl cleaners and the 1 pack of wipes and get back $2.48 making all 3 items just $1.28 or .43 EACH! SWEET

A couple P&G Rebates of Note

WOW! P&G is really rolling out the rebates for Breast Cancer Awareness!

The first one is exclusive to HEB and can be found here. Roughly, this one appears to be a catalina rebate form that prints when you purchase $35 in participating P&G items between now and October 5th.  These will need to purchased in a single transaction to receive rebate form.

Participating P&G Brands include:
Always, Aussie, Bounce, Bounty, Braun, Cascade, Charmin, Cheer, Clairol, Clearblue Easy, Cover Girl, Crest, Dawn, Downy, Dreft, Duracell, Febreze, Fixodent, Gain, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Herbal Essences, Hydrience, Iams, Infusium, Ivory, Luvs, Metamucil, Clear & Natural, Mr. Clean, Natural Instincts, Nice & Easy, Olay, Old Spice, Oral B, Pampers, Pantene, Pepto Bismol, Prilosec OTC, Pringles, Puffs, Pur, Safeguard, Scope, Secret, Swiffer, Tampax.

The second rebate is for anyone and can be found here.
This is a $10 rebate when you spend $50 on particpating P&G items between now and October 31st (actually this one started September 1st so if you still have receipts for these items, pull those suckers out)
Participating products include: Venus, Olay, Secret, Cover Girl, Clariol, Pantene, Aussie, Safeguard, Ivory and Herbal Essences.
This one can be done in multiple transactions, just be sure to keep your receipts and write the upc's down, you will need them for the rebate.

Thanks Mariah and Guest537 on my blog chat for the info on these two rebates.
Now for the brainstorming to turn this into an awesome deal or even a money maker!

Some brainstorming I have come up with:
I was in HEB looking for store coupons and came across a $1.25 any Cover Girl or Queen product store coupon.  This is a B coupon so you can combine with manufacturer coupons (keep in mind Cover Girl manuf coupons typically beep at HEB so gives those first otherwise your store might try to tell you they cannot be combined)

Food Town Deals Sept 28 - Oct 4th

Food Town has a few good deals this week. Find out if you are close to one here.
If you are you can either shop in store, or take your ad to Walmart to price match. I typically just pick the stuff up at Walmart because the store closest to me is not very coupon friendly.
You can get on their home mailer list by stopping in to your store and asking to be put on the mailing list. Then, you should get the 2 page homemailer every week.

I am listing deals from both the homemailer AND the in store ad which is much larger(20 pages!)
Food Town does NOT double or triple coupons and at least near me, they adjust coupons down to the value of the item.

Homemailer:
$1.77/lb Market Wrapped Jumbo Pack Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breast or Tenders

.79/lb Roma tomatoes

.69/lb bag crisped peeled baby carrots

.99/lb Sweet Seedless red Grapes

Free Schick Mens or Womens Razor at Kroger

My friend ran in to Kroger today and snapped this picture to send to me. She informed me both the Mens' and Womens' Schick razors were just $5 making them free with the IP coupons.
I don't believe these are advertised so price matching is out of the question :( and you might not be able to get a rain check. Good luck out there and if any local doesn't need the women's razor, perhaps we can strike up a trade.

You do need to go to the facebook page by Sept 22 to receive this coupon.

Food Town Deals Sept 21-27th

Homemailer:
$1.77/lb Tyson Boneless Skinless Breast or Tenders

.55 Marcal Small Steps Bath tissue 4 pack (cheap if you really need it, but not the softest in my opinion, I will only get when free)

.77 Fresh Bunch Broccoli

5 for $1 Bartlett Pears

$1.99/5 lb bag of Carrots (that is a lot of carrots!)

.39/lb Yellow Onions

2 for $1 Ranch Style Beans (I will probably have to get a few cans for my dh!)

.99 Hunts ketchup 24 oz
-.25 IP
=.74 each

$1.99 Kelloggs bonus box Fruit Loops, Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes, Cocoa Krispies, Corn Pops or Honey Smacks
-$1 in ad coupon (wyb $10 or more)
=.99

.88 Blackburn's Grape Jelly 16 oz

.99 Fabuloso cleaner 28 oz
-.50 insert 8-28 SS (regional)
=.49

In store ad:
6/$1 Ortega taco seasoning (YUMMY! Tacos)
-$1/2 IP
= FREE

.77 Pop Secret 3-4 count popcorn
-$1/2 IP
= .27 each wyb 2 (my Walmart doesn't carry this size)

$1.09 International Delights 16 oz coffee creamer
-.55 IP
= .54 each

Hot Schick deal at CVS - Free Women's razor after IP and ECB

I have to admit I am SUPER excited about this $5 Schick for Women razor coupon. As a couponer, I have learned to try not to be brand loyal to as many things as possible for the maximum amount of savings. While I have succeeded in most avenues, I have just accepted I cannot give up the Schick Women's razor.  This is truly the ONLY razor that does not give me major razor burn.  What is even more exciting is I have next weeks CVS ad in my hot little hands and the Schick Womens razor 1 ct or 4 ct blades are $8.99 with a $4 ecb back (limit 1),  Combine this with the $5 IP and you have yourself a free razor!
(I will happily trade any locals for something you might need from my stockpile :)

While printing, you might also consider printing the $6/2 Schick disposable, $4 off Hawaiian Tropic and Banana Boat and the two $5 Schick for men coupons as I am sure we will get a deal before they expire (mine printed with date of 11/19 so 2 months to find a deal!)

*not sure if it matters, but my zip code showed 90210

$2 Reach toothbrush coupon - Hopefully future Money maker

Walmart has a $2 coupon on any Reach toothbrush excluding Crystal Clean. Last time I was in my Walmart mine didn't carry the toothbrushes, but hopefully since they are offering the coupon, they will soon. Just wait for them to go on sale for $1 (they often do) and then price match and get $1 overage! That is what I plan on doing :)
You should be able to print 2 coupons per computer.

Thanks Mercedes.

Snip Its All Greater Houston locations - $10 Haircut

Juice in the City, another daily deal site, has an offer today for a voucher for Snip Its. Snip Its is a hair salon for kids. I have taken my kiddos to the one in Sugar Land and they really like it. While waiting, there are toys for the kids to play with like puzzles and blocks. Then, when it is time for their haircut, they can play a video game or watch a show. Definitely great to keep them occupied while getting their hair trimmed.
Well today only, you can purchase a voucher for half price. For $10, you can get a voucher for a kids cut at the Sugar Land or The Woodlands location. These are unique to the location, so make sure you pick the correct location, Sugar Land or The Woodlands.  Vouchers expire on March 20, 2012.

OR, if you are a new client to Snip Its, you can get a $10 haircut coupon directly on their website.  These expire October 20, 2011.   You could always do both.  Print the $10 coupon from the website and use it first, then use your Juice in the City certificate for the next haircut(just an idea)
For the $10 on the website, these are also unique to location so make sure you print the correct one based on location: Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Rice Village, and Pearland.

Randalls - A few more Frozen Food Scenarios

There is a pretty awesome rebate out right now that will work really great with the frozen food deal that is going on at Randalls through tomorrow. I am not sure where this rebate comes from as my friend sent me one in a RAOK, but I do see they have some auctions on ebay. It is possible some of the clipping services or a trader on the coupon boards might have some too (just search Freschetta rebate to search)
Anyway, the rebate is for $10 when you buy 3 Freschetta pizzas in a single transaction no later than 9-30-11.

Well, at Randalls, the Freschetta pizzas are $6.99 each
So, combining with the frozen food coupons, you can do the following:
3 Freschetta pizzas @ 6.99 = $20.97*
-$6.29 - 30% off in-ad coupon
-$5/15 Randalls Frozen food booklet coupon
-2 $1 IP (if you have multiple computers, print 3 and don't use the .75 one)
-.75 Randalls Frozen Food booklet coupon
=$6.93 for 3 pizzas then mail for $10 back!

Another deal a friend figured out and I tweaked (thanks Court, great minds think alike ;)
The Pillsbury Scrambles are $2.50 each .  If you have multiple coupons and your Randalls still allows you to use multiples, you could do the following (of course you can also mix and match with other items)
6 Scrambles @ 2.50 each = $15
-$4.50 - 30% off in-ad coupon
-$5/15 Randalls frozen food booklet
-$1 - Randalls frozen food booklet coupon (have to buy at least 2 due to $3 min requirement)
-$6 - 6 $1 insert 9-11 GM
= $1.50 money maker!(throw in a Totinos pizza roll @1.25 for another profit of .18)

*Since this transaction is already half way to $50, you might want to try to find some other items to throw into your transaction to get to $50 and then use the $5/50 you can print on Recyclebank for just 50 points (you can do the green your school challenge and get way more points than that in about 5 minutes.)

Other items I have been getting to get to $50:

Chunky Soup $1.11 with in ad coupon - $.50/2 IP = .61 a can wyb 2 (first coupon will double, thus taking off .50 per can)
*there is also a $2/5 IP here which makes them .71 a can wyb 5

Barilla Whole Grain Pasta $1
-.55 insert 9-18 SS
=.45 (if you buy 3 in a single transaction, you get a $2 oynso for a small Money Maker)

Tide trial size .99
-.50 insert 8-28 P&G
= FREE

Danimals yogurt $1.69 with in ad coupon
-.50 insert 8-14 SS
= .69 each (works on the Coolison that are 8 count since they are normally 6 ct and it states you get 2 free)

Ocean Spray Sparkling 4 packs $2 each
-$1.50 MDA coupon booklet coupon
=.50 each

Purina One cat food boxes $2.79
-$2 insert 8-21 SS
=.79 each

Today at one store I noticed Fancy Feast canned cat food .80 less 50% stickers
There is an in ad coupon to get 10 cans for $5,
I attempted this on the $1 cans, but I think it was meant for the .80 cans as the randalls in ad coupon didn't take off(it says select varieties).
Assuming it works, it should look like this?

10 cans @ .80 each = $8
-$3 Randalls in ad coupon
-$4 - from 50% stickers
=$1 for 10 cans or .10 each!

Hot Frozen Food deal at Randalls

I finally got a chance to make it out to Randalls and scout out the sale with the 30% in ad frozen food coupon. Combine with manufacturer coupons and the $5/15 Frozen food booklet I posted about here (just today I had my friend with me and she asked for one at the service desk and received one), and you have yourself almost FREE waffles, pancakes and/or muffin tops.

This is how the transaction played out*:
8 Eggo products @ $2 each (with at least 2 of them being muffin top) = $16
1 Totinos pizza roll box $1.25
-$5/15 from frozen food booklet
-30% coupon (takes off .38 for pizza rolls and .60 for eggos for a total of $5.18 discount)
-$1 Randalls booklet coupon for buying muffin tops(min purchase required is $3, thus the need for 2 boxes)
-$4 - 4 $1/2 manuf insert coupons 8-7 RP
-1.05 - .35 Totinos tripled insert 9-11 GM
=$1.02 for 8 Eggos and 1 Totinos or .11 EACH!
(In this scenario you don 't HAVE to get the Totinos, but it is -.18 so why wouldn't you ;)

Another scenario, if you want to still score cheap Digiornio pizzas
2 Digiorno $6.99 each
1 Totinos pizza rolls $1.25
= $15.23
-$4.57 for 30% coupon
-$5/15
-$3/2 tearpad for Digiorno
-$1.05 for Totinos tripled
= $1.61 oop or .54 an item

*I asked if I could combine both the $5/15 and the 30% since neither coupon excluded the combining, my cashier said if the register will take it, so will I.

A few other deals I noticed:
Smuckers jam $1.99 with in ad coupon - $1.50/2 IP = $1.24 each wyb 2 (decent if you need jelly and don't want just grape that always goes on sale)

Chunky Soup $1.11 with in ad coupon - $.50/2 IP = .61 a can wyb 2 (first coupon will double, thus taking off .50 per can)
*there is also a $2/5 IP here which makes them .71 a can wyb 5

Barilla Whole Grain Pasta $1
-.55 insert 9-18 SS
=.45 (if you buy 3 in a single transaction, you get a $2 oynso for a small Money Maker)

Tide trial size .99
-.50 insert 8-28 P&G
= FREE

Danimals yogurt $1.69 with in ad coupon
-.50 insert 8-14 SS
= .69 each (works on the Coolison that are 8 count since they are normally 6 ct and it states you get 2 free)

50% off Chilis Gift Card through MyPoints

I got an email from MyPoints for a $20 Gift Card for Chili's for only $10. I am not sure if everyone who is a member is offered this, but since I LOVE Chili's I jumped at this. Hopefully some of my readers got this too. Check your emails or log into your MyPoints account.

Not a member of MyPoints ? It is free to join and you can earn points simply by clicking on emails or taking surveys. Those points can then be redeemed for gift cards. I have been a member now since September 2004 and usually earn enough points a year to earn a $25 gift card, and I usually don't do the surveys, just the emails.

SoapTime Review and Giveaway

SoapTime is a fairly new designed system to teach kids between 2-7 the proper amount of time to wash your hands(from the same people that bring us SquidSoap). When children pump the soap, the base comes to life with facts, songs or just fun information and a led light show.
When I received the soap for a review, I put it in my kiddos bathroom and was curious if they would use it. Well, they might still forget to flush the toilet (working on that one) but they NEVER forget to wash their hands now. Actually one night about 1 am my husband woke up to get some water and walking through the house to the kitchen, he heard the soap base singing its song in the darkness. He peered around the corner to see a sleepy headed kiddo in the dark washing their hands. Seems even when they wake to potty, they remember to wash their hands now :) YAY!

Soap Time has 3 uniquely Themed Bottles: ABC, Earth, and Elephant, each recognized by the SmartBase. All bottles have educational themes narrated by Professor Goodhabits. The music was written, produced, & recorded by Brian Vander Ark, of the Verve Pipe. ABC’s theme is language, Earth’s theme is nature, and Elephant’s theme is wild kingdom.
To review the playlist for each bottle, you can go to these links: Elephant, Earth, ABC.  Each factoid or song is right at about 20 seconds, the proper amount of time you should wash your hands.  We have currently been using the ABCS so my kiddos are getting really good at saying hello in a few different languages :)
Currently, you can find SoapTime in select Bed Bath and Beyond stores, soon to be available nationwide.

SoapTime has been generous enough to offer a set of the 3 unique bottles and one SmartBase to offer as a giveaway to one of my readers!
This giveaway will close on Sept. 23rd and I will select a winner via Random.Org.

To enter, Like Soaptime on Facebook and post a comment on their wall stating KatyCouponers sent you and mention which bottle you think your kids would enjoy the most.

For a bonus entry, you can Like my page on Facebook.
You must leave a separate comment on this post to count as two entries.

Good luck

Disclosure: I was given a set of the SoapTime system to review and offered the chance to giveaway one to a reader through MomSelect.  All opinions as always are my own.
