Potentially Free Ortho Fire Ant Killer - YMMV

My mom found this deal at a local small hardware store.  It seems Do It Best is an affiliate of many local hardware stores (like Bering in Houston for example)  While I am not sure if all will have the same low price making these free, she did find rebate forms that say eligible at independent hardware stores.  You can buy up to two bags for an $8 rebate making them free.  To see if you have a store nearby, go here.  Then perhaps you can call or check their website for the pricing before wasting a trip.
Hopefully some of the stores up here are participating in this freebie.

Thanks mom for the pic and deal.

Some ibotta goodies free or better than

Went shopping at several stores today and decided to get some of the ibotta offers available currently.
Now I also want to tell you I did a BIG boo boo and forgot to scan one of the items in the store and now when I am trying to submit it says the offer doesn't match.  SO don't do what I did, pull up your ibotta in store and scan the item you plan on buying to confirm it is correct.

Kettle Chips are $2.49 at Kroger after the buy 5 get $5 off
I used the $1 printable here and was gonna redeem for .50 ibotta making them just .99 for the family size.  This variety apparantly does not work though so I gotta see if I can test the others scanning and do an exchange.

Also on the Buy 5 get $5 is the French's Dijon mustard
It is $1.19 after sale and just .19 after sale and the $1 coupon from 3/10 Smart Source insert
Submit for the .50 on ibotta to make .31 buying it :D

After Kroger I hopped into CVS and scanned my card.  The machine printed out a coupon for $4.99 off Clear shampoo as advertised.  They are on sale for $4.99 so free after this CRT.
I made sure to buy one of the varieties I have on my ibotta for $1.25 profit :D

Finally, while at Randalls, I grabbed a Chobani on sale for $1
Used the .30 coupon that triples making my cost .10 at register
Then I submitted for the .50 ibotta offer (expires 4/2) making a profit of .40 :D

While I was there I noticed the Ore Ida Easy Fries are .99 everyday pricing
Grabbed one of those and submitted for the $1 from ibotta getting paid .01 for buying them

I forgot to check the price of the Smucker's at Randalls, but for my variety in ibotta, the cost is $2.78 at Walmart.  With the $.75 coupon and $1 ibotta, it would cost $1.03.  I want to double check Randall's pricing before I purchase.

I hope to pick up some pricing too for the candies as I am hoping with clearance sales we might score a deal on the peeps, cadbury mini eggs, reeses eggs and Starburst Jelly beans.

Just a heads up to those that don't follow me on facebook yet.  I tend to post more over there during the work week than I have time to post on the blog.

Alamo Draft House - Two movie tickets for just $9

My husband LOVES the Alamo Draft House because he can have a beer while watching a show.  I tend to pick the chick flicks to watch there cause he can't gripe with a beer in his hands, lol.

Today, Groupon is offering two movie tickets for just $9.  That beats even the matinee price at other theaters :D
Tickets expire April 28th and you must be 18 or accompanied by guardian.  Not valid for 6 and under except on baby day.  May purchase multiples. Valid only in Katy and Vintage Park locations.

Randalls - Cheap spices and clearance bunnies!

Alright, before I get in to the deals concerning the spices at Randalls (for some with personalized pricing, not me, it might get complicated)
I would like to mention this super cute burlap bunny.  They are in the floral department at Randalls and marked $14.99 but are ringing up 75% off NOW!  Super cool because I have been a slacker on getting stuff for the kids baskets, but sadly they were with me today(we went to a movie and then shopping) so they already know about them. I told them they can play with them today but  I need them back by Saturday night (yeah, I am just full of surprises right, lol - I suck at the surprise factor)
Anyway, they rang up just $3.75 each and my kids were so nuts over them they actually buckled them in  on the drive home(and in the car cart at the store - safety FIRST).

Ok, so on to the spice deal at Randalls.  There is a $2 loadable J4U coupon on the randalls(safeway, tom thumb website) , limit 2.  Basically it says you can save $2 off McCormick gourmet or A-Z spices. Well, they also happen to have the McCormick spices on sale for buy 2 get 1 free.  This particular loadable for $2 off happens to also be in the ad so I was hoping for a potential glitch as my husband has been pestering me for some spices (since we are trying to go full blown paleo, we are limited on variety so seasonings are very important).

So I took advantage of the fact he was with me and said, alright what the heck you need, please tell me. Right away he picked out paprika and I said great what else.  He then grabbed Cumin.  I grabbed cinnamon and he looked at me like I had 2 heads that spit sugary temptations at him(ok that is probably an exaggeration and he probably hoped I looked more like a 12 oz bock, but whatever, this is my blog, not his!)
He even argued and said, but the safeway brand is cheaper, I did NOT give him a happy look to that, lol.
I really was not sure how this whole thing was going to play out since Randalls coupons can be so weird sometimes and seem to change even before expiration.  So for me, this is how my transaction played out:

I loaded the $2 off McCormick on J4U to my card, limit 2
I loaded the .50 off McCormick cinnamon  on J4U to my card
I cut out the $2 off McCormick in ad coupon, limit 2

I purchased:
1 McCormick Cinnamon @ 1.79 after club card
1 McCormick Cumin @ $3 after club card
1 McCormick Paprika @ 2.79 after club card

Given the buy 2 get 1 price point, the register will naturally give the Cinnamon free since it is the lowest price point.
When they totaled my order before paper coupons, it showed two $2 coming off for the loadable J4U as well as the .50 McCormick for Cinnamon.  Then I handed over the $2 in ad coupon, and it took an additional $2.79 off.  I think this is what happened:

The loadables took off $2 and $2 and $.50 as they should
Making my new totals for the 3 spices
cinnamon 1.29
cumin $1
paprika .79

When I added the in ad coupon, I thought it would take off just one more $2 since the 3rd was free but it took off 2.79 so I am assuming it is because it took of for 2 more even though I only had 3 total spices.
So it took off $2 off the cumin making it negative $1
and .79 off the paprika since I suspect it adjusted down due to already taking $2 off, making it zero.

But since the cumin went negative with the in ad coupon, my final receipt shows
-1
0 and
1.29 for the spices making all of them just .29

This could turn into a good money maker if you still have any .75 McCormick coupons from 3/3 Red Plum insert.

Also, I have been reading of some that have personalized pricing on ALL McCormick spices that can make the super expensive stuff (can you say saffron?) cheap or even a money maker too!  Check your personalized pricing before heading out, if you have McCormick personalized pricing, consider yourself super LUCKY!

Purex detergent plus fabric softener with Fragrance Crystals Review and Giveaway

Those of you that LOVE Purex Crystals are going to LOVE this new Purex detergent with the Crystals already mixed in.
Ok, I have to admit my husband does not like "fragrency" laundry so I was curious if he would notice the scent on this and gripe at me.  Well, I put it to the test and will admit, when I washed our sheets and put them straight on our bed right before us going to bed, he did say it was a bit too "flowery" for him but he didn't seem to notice a change in smell to his clothes. :)
My lesson learned, don't wash something my husband is going to be wearing, sleeping on, or using  right after using this detergent (or get him a plain bottle of something, lol).  Otherwise, it is great.  If you are a Crystal lover already, then perhaps you should try this out.

Now for the fun stuff.  Who wants to win their own bottle of Purex with Crystals Fragrance to try for themselves for FREE!  Well, 3 lucky readers will each win a coupon for a free bottle.
Here are the rules:
One entry per person
You must leave a comment on this blog post to be included (facebook and email entries don't count)
You must leave a comment by March 29th by 5 pm.

2 Winners will be selected by random.org and 1 winner will be selected as the one that had the most entertaining(to me) comment :D

Good luck

Kroger - Digital Coupons, a free and some goodies

Trying to prepare for a small mega run and wanted to check the digital coupons for some that might help some deals along.  Well, first you might want to load this Free Marie Callender's soup ecoupon and pick up one of those on your trip.  Even if you don't eat canned soup, this is a great donation item to drop in the red buckets :D.

Then I was excited to see there is a $3 off Blue Rhino propane (with or without exchange).  My hubs uses propane for his beer brewing so I am always looking for a deal on those.

There is a $1.50 off Gevalia so if you were planning on picking that up, might want to just load the ecoupon.

There is a $1 off coupon for Comfort diapers or training pants and I recall seeing closeout tags on some of those, so might be worth loading to check out later.

$1.50 off Yuban coffee.  These are on the mega sale for the same price as the Maxwell House, so might be a decent coffee deal, if you like this brand.

And for a few deals with ones that you might already have loaded (I don't believe these are available to download now if you have not already). These come from reader Glenn (thanks :D)

Private Selection Greek Yogurt @ $1
- $3/3 Private Selection items eQ
= free (if you buy 3)

Yopa! Greek Yogurt @ $1
- $1/1 Facebook IP (must share)
= free

I haven't tried yet (Estracell sponges were out of stock at my local Kroger), but there is a Kroger eQ (http://kroger.softcoin.com/programs/kroger/digital_coupons/content/banners/atVI20130002E2_selectstore.html) for $2/$5 worth of brooms, mops, or sponges that I think might make these free

And there are a few coupons coming out this weekend that might help with the mega
New skintimate for .55 so when these expire

$0.50 Mountain High Yoghurt, making the 32 oz plain $1 after mega

.75 off Sargento Slices, making these $1.50 after mega and coupon
