Better than free Barilla pasta sauce for some at Randalls (cheap for others)

Today we got a new $1 off coupon for Barilla pasta sauce.  This makes the pasta sauce a money maker for some or really really cheap for others, depending upon your J4U offers.
If you don't have 3 $1 off coupons, there is a $0.75 printable here.

First, all should have a $1.49 Barilla pasta sauce 24 oz, limit 1 listed under the coupon section in J4U, load that one to your card.

Then, some of you might have a 10% off any pasta sauce, load that one to your card as well.

And finally, there is a catalina offer through October 6th that gives you a $2 oynso catalina for buying 3 Barilla sauces in a single transaction.

For those with the 10% offer, your first transaction will look like this:
1 Barilla pasta $1.49
2 Barilla pasta $1.99
-.60 J4U 10% savings (10% comes off the 1.99 even for the 1 that you get pp of 1.49)
-3 $1 coupons from today Smart Source insert
=$1.77* and earn $2 oynso making this a $0.23 money maker

Just $.37 for 3 after your first transaction(or .12 if the coupons keep taking off tax)
*I did this transaction today and I actually only paid $1.62 because it appears the Barilla coupons are taking off tax but the pasta sauce is not taxable!

For those that do not have the 10% off, you can still get a good deal
1 Barilla pasta $1.49
2 Barilla pasta $1.99
-3 $1 coupons from today Smart Source insert
=$2.47 and earn $2 oynso making it $0.47 for 3 pasta sauces!

After you use the $1.49 on your card, your total on future transactions will be $2.97 so $0.97 for 3 sauces.

Aldi Ad - Sept 25th - Oct 1st

Some key things to know about Aldi's before you shop:
*They do not take coupons
*Bring your own bags or boxes for your groceries.  They do not have regular plastic bags but if you forget yours, you can either buy a cloth reusable bag for $1.99 or a plastic one for .10 (these are actually pretty sturdy and I imagine would last for quite some time if you don't abuse them)
*Bring a quarter with you to "rent" the cart.  You get your quarter back when you return the cart to the corral (keeps costs down if they don't have to have someone round up buggies and they pass those savings onto the customer)
*Prepare to pay with cash, debit or EBT - they do not accept any other form of payment, again as a cost saving measure

Red Grapes $0.75/lb - sold in 2 lb packages

Pineapple $0.99 each

Roma Tomatoes $.79/lb

Baby Carrots .49/lb

Fiesta Ad - Sept 25th - Oct 1st

Fiesta takes coupons but does not double or triple. Also, Fiesta does not accept internet printed coupons. Fiesta has locations in Houston, Austin and Dallas/Fort Worth. To find a store near you, go here.
I believe Fiesta ads do vary in price slightly depending on the local competition. Prices listed reflect what is in my store ad.
An Anon commenter informed me the ads ARE online, but you have to use store locator and enter your zip code then you can view it, thanks JDB.

Aldi Ad - Sept 18th -24th

Red Grapes or Green Grapes $0.75/lb - sold in 2 lb packages

Bartlett Pears $0.85/lb - sold in 2 lb packages

Yellow Onions $0.89 per 3 lb bag

Green Cabbage $0.69 each

Friendly Farms (gal) $1.99

L'oven Fresh White Hot Dog Buns (12 oz) $0.89

Easy Home 4 piece vacuum storage bag set $4.99

Gerber Graduates - Better than free at Kroger - ends Tuesday!

Gerber Graduates 2+ varieties are on mega at Kroger right now (thru Tuesday Sept 17th).  In addition there is a catalina offer going right now, buy 5 get $2 oynso, buy 7 get $3 oynso or buy 10 get $4 oynso.
And for the trifecta we got $1/2 Gerber coupons in the 9/9 Red Plum, put this all together for an awesome deal!

If you want easy buy 5 or 10 since that is how many items you need to get mega pricing:

Scenario #1:
Buy 5 @ $.50 = $2.50
Use 2 $1/2 coupons = $0.50
Earn $2 oynso
Profit of $1.50

Scenario #2:
Buy 10 @ $.50 = $5.00
Use 5 $1/2 coupons = FREE
Earn $4 oynso
Profit of $4.00
*$2 profit if your store has 3 like coupon limit

*Be sure to look at some of the other Gerber Graduates 2+, I found some Dippers on closeout for $1.20.
Took $1 off for mega making them $0.20 and then used $1/2 coupons for a profit even BEFORE the catalina :D  Closeout prices can vary greatly by store.
*If you don't have coupons, the best scenario is the 7 Gerbers, if you can throw in 3 other mega items that are free(1 Gillette pro fusion with loadable, 1 Old Spice shave gel with loadable and 1 Gillette fusion with $2 insert) you will pay $3.50 and get $3 back making your cost for 7 $0.50 or $0.07 each.  The 5 and 10 scenario without coupons cost $.10 each

Also, when I purchased one of the above pictured items, it has a try me free rebate I can mail in.  They "should" pay the $1.50 amount since that is original ring up price :D
If you don't need the items you can consider donating.

Thanks Kimberly!

New Android App that Rewards you - Locket

On August 12th I was told about a new app for Android called Locket (sorry I cannot recall who told me now).  Once you install this app, you need to disable your current unlock screen and locket will replace it.  Before locket was installed on my phone I just needed to swipe the screen to unlock it, now I still swipe but have to swipe just at the bottom of the screen where it has the blue circle.

Locket replaces your wallpaper with rotating ads (high resolution ads) and when you unlock your phone you can earn 1c per swipe*.  They estimate that the standard smartphone user swipes 150 times a day so why not get paid to do it?

Before I had locket I just had one of the default wallpapers on my screen so I thought what the heck, let me test it out.  As of today, I have banked $9.47.  So ~.36 a day.  While this app is not gonna make me rich, it rewards me for something I am already doing.  Currently you can't cash out until you reach $10 so at least a month possibly month and a half and you can cash out.

They also have an earn more section where you can fill out surveys, install other apps or sign up for different clubs or services to earn more cash.  (personally these don't appeal to me)

This app is currently only available for the android platform so if you want to give it a shot, check it out here.

*you will not get paid for every swipe as they use an algorithm to determine the pay out.  Some reviews I have read claim there is a .03 max payout an hour.  Also locket claims the reward loyal users with random bonuses(no clue how they determine if your loyal and what the payout is.

My personal opinion about this app: It doesn't require any extra work on my part and it is rewarding me for something I am already doing. No I don't sit around just unlocking my phone to get paid, but if they want to pay me for when I am unlocking my phone, why not.  It has not changed my behavior at all so I don't mind getting a little pocket change in the process.

Randalls keeping me busy! - Descent Classico Pasta Sauce Deal

I gotta say Randalls has been keeping me super busy these days.  Today I went back to Randalls to see if I missed anything and to get some prices for a few other items.  I had all my print outs from Upromise, J4U, and Coupon Network.  I figured out this deal at the store

There are a few Classico deals that overlap to give you a pretty decent deal on this pasta sauce:

There is a current cat deal going (through 9/8)
Buy 3 get $2
Buy 4 get $3

There is a Upromise offer as well
Buy $15 or more on Classico, earn $5 in your Upromise account

You might also have a 10% off any pasta sauce in your J4U Randalls account (I do :D)

Classico Pasta 2.79 each
Buy 3 = $8.37 - 10% J4U = 7.53 - $1/3 ip or in tomorrow's paper = 6.53, earn 2 cat

Second Transaction
Classico Pasta 2.79 each
Buy 3 = $8.37 - 10% J4U = 7.53 - $1/3 ip = 6.53, earn 2 cat(you can use the cat from trans #1 and still get another)

=13.06 - $4 earned in cats - $5 earned for buying $15 Upromise = $4.06
$4.06/6 jars = .68 a jar for Classico Pasta sauce

Sweet Windex Touch-Up Deal at Randalls

I already mentioned the pretty good deal on Windex Touch Up deal on my Randalls match up post here, but it just got BETTER!

Upromise just added a SC Johnson ecoupon offer.  Purchase $20 worth of SC Johnson products, including Drano, Fantastik, Pledge, Scrubbing Bubbles, Shout and Windex items and earn $5 in your Upromise account.

Windex Touch-Up is on the Buy 5 Save $5 offer so before that promotion it should ring up $3.50.  This value should be the value Upromise considers due to the way Randalls registers discount these offers.
So, purchase 6 @ $3.50 = $21
-$6 for the buy 5 save $5 promo (see my matchup post if you don't understand why I took off $6)
-$9 - 6 $1.50 coupons from 7/28 or 8/25 Smart Source insert
=$6 oop but earn $5 in Upromise account

Final price $1 for 6 Windex Touch Ups.
(for the Upromise offer, these can be purchased in multiple transactions, just make sure each transaction has 5 items on the Randalls sale to get this pricing)
*For those of you that have 10% off Cleaners, that discount "might" make you short for the Upromise offer.
