CVS - Pretty decent Ragu deal - today (Sunday) only

Sorry to post this so late, as the coupons for this deal expire tonight
(I was out late yesterday and just got back from shopping with my mom today)
This deal will require you to have a tearpad that can be found at Dollar General but those coupons expire TODAY. The coupons are $1 off on Ragu. They have the Dollar General logo but do not say redeem only at Dollar General.

Ragu are on sale for 3/$5 at CVS and are part of the Gas deal. If you can get 18 coupons and 18 Ragus, your out of pocket will be $12, but you will have earned a $10 gas card, thus 18 jars of Ragu only costs $2 or just .11 each.
(You can also mix and match this with the Dove shampoo/stylers $3 each -bogo insert in todays paper and $1.50/2 here - must register)
or if you have the Recyclebank Coke coupons, the 2 liters are free after those and count toward the $30.

Other deals you can score this week:
Gillette fusion pro glide $9.99
-$4 insert (todays paper)
=$5.99 at register but earn $5 ECBS
Final price = .99

Skinny Cow singles .99
-$1 or bogo todays paper
= Free or .99 at register but earn .99 ECBs (limit 1)
Final price : 1 or 2 free depending on coupon you have

Milk $2.99
Earn $1 ECB (limit 2)
Final price: $1.99 gallon,
*There is a monthly that ends Saturday that you earn a free gallon wyb 5, I just need 1 more gallon for this promo, takes 2 days for coupon to print)

Revlon super lusterious, moon drops, colorburst lip or top speed nail $5.79 each
Earn $3 ECBs (limit 6)
Buy 2 @ 5.79 each = $11.58 - $3/10 CRT (scan your card at price machine first!) - 2 * $1 insert 6-26 SS
=$6.58 at register but get back $6 ECBs
Final price: 2 for .58

Bic Soleil Shimmer $5.99 (good luck finding these!)
-$3 insert 7-10 SS
=$2.99 at register but Earn $3 ECBs (limit 1)
Final price: free

Also, check out the coupons you get at the scanning machine, I got a coupon for a free Kotex U but my mom did not.  (make sure you KEEP scanning your card over and over until it says no more coupons available - two days ago it let me scan my card 4 times in a row for coupons!)

Randalls run - lucky clearance find and decent deal on granola bars

I was out and about today using up expiring coupons (more on that in another post coming very very soon). I had 2 more Seattle's Best coffee singles freebies 6-5 SS and my regular Randalls does not carry them.(not pictured because I forgot)
Since I had to meet a few friends across town, I stopped into a Randalls that does carry them. Well, while there I was super excited to find the pictured dog treats ALL with 50% off stickers. I had clipped my $4/4 6-26 SS insert coupons for another deal that didn't pan out, so I happened to have them handy. Well, these were marked $1.40 each, but rang up $1.25 each. Then they took off the .63 each for the 50% off stickers. This brought them down to .62 each, but my coupons were for basically $1 off each making each a .38 MONEY MAKER
I got 36 of them so $13.68 PROFIT!!!! YAY

Then I noticed my addiction(Diet DP) was on sale for .88 when you buy 10 or more. Well thanks to a wonderfully nice reader and a wonderfully nice coupon buddy, I had some $1/2 tearpad coupons expiring today, making these just .38 each. I used the overage from the dog treats to pay for them :)

I had a Pure Protein .50 off coupon from All You magazine making that free after doubles and finally

the Snackwells granola bars were $2.69 each
I used .75/1 insert coupons 7-31 SS
$2.69 - .75 = $1.94 x 2 = $3.88
Purchasing 2 earned me a $3 OYNSO so just .44 each
(Catalina deal ends 8/7/11, thanks Courtney)

I had to throw in the 2 sodas (my mom was with me hence the coke, noticed my Diet DP is empty!) so I wouldn't go negative(since the treats rang cheaper than I accounted for). The water was for a donation to MDA.

Kroger - Another Money Maker this week

This week, Kroger has Crest toothpaste on sale for $1. Well, apparantly there is a catalina deal on Crest that earns you $2 oynso when you buy $6 or more worth of Crest. This catalina apparantly is working on the regular shelf price of the Crest($2.24). So, this can be as large as a $2 money maker for each 3 you purchase if you have $1 off coupons. My inserts had the .75 insert 6-5 and 7-3 PG, so $1.25 money maker for each 3(you must purchase in separate transactions).

If you are heading there anyway, some of the other items I have read as being free or cheap are as follows:
(most of these assume you still have doubles/triple coupons, grrrr.  I will put a * next to the items for those in Houston that does not require d/t to be free)
*Oral B toothbrush $1 - $2/2 7-3 PG = FREE

Ivory soap $1 - .50 insert 7-3 PG = Free

*Beggin Strips bogo - bogo insert 5-8 SS (ymmv if cashier will allow bogo on bogo, but if so and you have enough coupons, get 8 and you will get a $5 oynso for purchasing $30 in Purina products)

Frenchs mustard $1 - .30 6-19 SS = .10

There is probably more but my girls are demanding my attention, so I am gonna go be with them!

Thanks SD, Court and JennS for the assistance with deals.

MyCokeRewards - Wednesday 1 day only deals - YMMV

Bear with me on this post readers as I just got this email AND I don't really do coke points. I don't know if these are going to be unique offerings per account or if everyone is going to get the same offerings.
According to my email, this is going to be a one day only deal (not sure why they waited until 3:30 pm to send the email).  For only 6 MyCokeRewards points, it appears I can get 50 Snapfish prints free.  That is a 88% savings on points.

Check your email to see if you received something similar or go here to check your MyCokeRewards account.  I do not know any finer details as I have zero coke points, lol (I give mine to my mom since I am a DP drinker)

Edit:  I few details a reader just informed me about.  You get a code that you enter on Snapfish.com and it is added to your account as a credit of 50 free prints.  These expire December 31, 2011.
Thanks Davotney

Make sure you check back every Wednesday for the new deal.

Heed My Warning Pier 1 is out to destroy our FREE time!!!!

You would think erasers are innocent enough right?
Yeah, that was my logic. Erasers are great, especially when you have grade school children learning their alphabet, how to spell, and how to write in general. All sounds great. I decided to score them a few "FUN" erasers to enjoy during their laborous school day. Well HEED my warning!!!!! DO NOT give these erasers to your children unless you take a picture of the solution first!!!! Seriously, see the display here:

This eraser started out as a PERFECT cube and I thought GREAT my kids will LOVE it! Did I think of taking a picture first NO! Was that a BAD mistake ABSOLUTELY! As now I sit here with 2 girls in bed begging mommy to put this cube back together, WHAT!!!!!! Guess I will be up most the night figuring this one out!
Anyone that took advantage of that Pier 1 $10 coupon I posted yesterday, if you happened to purchase one of these clearanced erasers PLEASE tell me the color order, I am DYING here!!!!!!!

Reminder - Walmart a GREAT place for price matching -especially produce

Ok, this post is not gonna mention matchups per se since these end tonight, but I just want to remind you guys who might not be currently taking advantage of this program. I must admit I have had a coupon buddy trying to convince me of this price matching trick, especially on produce, for probably 2-3 years now and I just never really listened. I think partly due to my hatred of Walmart, BUT I have to admit the Walmart near my office has MUCH better produce most days then the HEB near my house. So for the last couple weeks, I have been price matching the various ads and I really got some AWESOME deals this week, due in LARGE part to said coupon buddy mentioned above.
The true trick to this price matching is to accumulate AS many local ads as you possibly can. (I know Walmart commercials claim you don't even need to take the ads in, but I don't feel comfortable leaving my savings in the hands of others, and they may not have ALL the ads available in store).
Well, lucky for me, my coupon bud works in a different part of town so she has access to ads for stores that are in Houston, but the sheer effort to get there is not worth the time OR gas. Well, it seems those stores have WONDERFUL produce prices (try .99 seedless Watermelons, 3 lbs $1 peaches, and 2 lbs $1 Sweet potatoes!!!)

So, the last couple days(I was not organized enough this week to do it in one trip) I have gone to the Walmart literally across the street from my office and painlessly price matched a total of  5 different grocery ads.  Not only did I save money on the purchase price, but I saved on gas and the time it would have taken to go to 5 different stores.

So there are 2 take away lessons for this blog post.
1. Price matching DOES pay in savings (in price, gas AND time)
2. Find a coupon buddy that you can split effort with to get the best return.  My friend supplies me with ads I cannot get easily on my own and I do the same for her, (or trade for stuff that is free after RR or ECB that I have no need for)

ALL these items would have cost me $22.90 by Walmart prices but because of price matching, I got them all at Walmart for $10.89, a savings of $12.01!  I don't feel it took me any longer to check out as I was organized and place the items on the belt by ad and just pointed out the pricing.  Cashiers gave me ZERO hassle and I was in and out and $12 richer just for 1 week of produce shopping!
I have to admit I don't often buy cheeries, but with the price match of $1.99 I picked those up as a treat :)

Special thanks to Maya for a few ads and putting up with me all these years :)

ShopKicks - Get free Gift Cards and Target coupons!

If you have not heard about ShopKick and you have an Iphone or Android, you should check it out. I joined in January and have already earned $40 in Target giftcards!  You can earn Kickbucks simply by checking in daily at stores around your area or scanning items at grocery and convenience stores.   I easily got 70 points by walking into American Eagle yesterday while on the way back to my car from getting my free undies at Victoria Secret (home mailer!).
I am in stores often checking for deals, so I just make sure to open up ShopKick to see what I can scan for extra points that day, doesn't take me much more time than my usual shopping.
The app uses the GPS on your phone, so depending on where you are around town determines if there are bonus kickbucks you can earn, however I have found that even by simply visiting Walgreens, Kroger, Randalls or a gas station, I can easily rack up the kickbucks!
In addition to the KickBucks, there are discounts to various retailers.  For example, twice now they have offered a $5 off ANY purchase at Best Buy, once they offered a $5 off a $5 or more purchase at American Eagle Outfitters  and they regularly offer  a $10 off $50 purchase at Macy's.

They even show current sales that might not be advertised and they offer Target store coupons you can use with manufacturer coupons!
Like right now they are are offering
Save 15% on Coleman products
.75 off Colgate Max toothpaste
.75 off up & up feminine care item
.50 off up & up hair care item
.50 off up & up cleaning item
These are good through 8-5 or 12 hours after you click the "use this" button

If you are interested and have an android or iphone, just go to Shopkick or for those on android, you can find it in the android marketplace and download the app and register.  Then, when you go to your "collect" screen tap the banner that says got a promo code and enter silver8925 and they will give you 50 kickbucks to get you started!  This code only works for 24 hours after uploading the app, so don't forget to do this right away!
I will get 50 kickbucks too when you sign up (thanks for your support)

*For those of you that live in Sugar Land or Katy, might I suggest you prepare your Shopkick way ahead before checking out at Target.  Seems I always get a weak signal in Target so I usually have to have the upc up before I walk into the store!  I don't seem to have those issues elsewhere.

Heb to Offer 11 cent discount on Gas - Select Regions - starting July 27th

Wow!!! For you lucky ducks in the following HEB marketing regions, get ready to save at the fuel pumps!
Beginning July 27th, HEB is going to be offering an 11 cent discount for those fueling up and paying with an HEB gift card in San Antonio, Central Texas, Gulf Coast, Border and the Rio Grande Valley. "Gas UP Save More" will run through October 31st for all participating locations except for the Gulf Coast region. Residents of the Gulf Coast will retain the additional savings through the end of the year, December 31, 2011 in celebration of HEB's 80th anniversary in the Gulf Coast region. (Alice, Aransas Pass, Beeville, CC, Gonzales, Ingleside, Kingsville, Portland, Port Lavaca, Rockport, Refugio, Victoria and Yoakum).
Starting tommorrow you should start seeing tv and radio ads, billboards, in store signage and print ads advertising this promotion. You can find a list of participating stations and stores at HEB's website.

You can read the article about this promotion here.

Thanks SSouthern for the heads up :)

PS Houston readers: I called and inquired and it seems Houston is not participating.  Perhaps everyone can consider using the Contact Us link on the HEB website letting them know we would LOVE these savings as well!  Walmart is offering their .10 savings when using gift cards, it would be wonderful for area HEBs to get in on the competiton. (I know HEB reads the emails through that link because I have gotten calls back the same day when filling them out!)  Might consider waiting until tomorrow to send the request when the promo has actually gone live.

Cellfire has Reset today

Cellfire has reset their loadable coupons today. I was excited to see a few different coupons this time around, but I was also happy to see the .75/2 kids yogurt coupon. Since I already have one on my card, both should come off when picking up 2 yogurts and that is better savings than my paper coupon at Randalls :)
I load ALL the coupons to my Randalls card since their register will let me choose my loadables OR my paper coupon (unlike Kroger forcing you to use loadable if you load them).

Just head over here to load your coupons. Then don't forget to head over to Shortcuts and load those coupons up too.

Also, for those of you in New York, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri, if you have a D'Agostino or Harps Food near you, these stores have been added to the Cellfire family.

CVS run tonight for new ad

Well, tonight did not go exactly as planned. It seems the ad CVS mails me every week is NOT for my region. In my home mailed ad I received from CVS it shows Dr Pepper 12 packs are 4/$10 on the 2nd page, but when I got there I was suprised they rang up full price. Cashier wanted me to point it out in the ad but the instore ad didn't have it, it showed  showed me the in store Snapple in that spot  :(     (Cashier even went so far as to ask if I was looking at the right week, lol - so just to prove I am NOT nuts, check this pic out:

Anyway, on the deals.  I don't know about you guys but everytime I went into CVS last week, scanning my card at the machine triggered a $10/50.  Well, this is certainly the week that will come in handy so I went to CVS hoping to do 2 transactions of just above $50 each to take full advantage of those CRTs (again, one had to be altered a bit since my 12 packs were $5.49 NOT $4/10 so obviously I am not THAT nuts about DP!)

I went tonight because I had grand plans of getting the Schick Hydro razors with my $4 off coupons that expire tonight, but there was not a razor in site at this store, so instead I got the Skintimate Shave cream.

So the deals:
Aussie and Herbal Essence 2/$4.97
Spend $30 on participating products, get $10 gas card
-$3/2 insert 7-3 P&G
(I got 12 @ $29.82, used 6 coupons making it $11.82 earn the $10 gas card- I broke this up between my 2 transactions so as not to use more than 4 like coupons)
Final Cost: $1.82 for 12 bottles
*Edit, OOPS big boo boo on my end!  I read the $3/2 coupon incorrectly and it is actually a $3 off styler when you buy another Herbal Essence product, EEK!  Sorry readers, guess I should not shop after driving 3 hours AND when upset about not getting my Diet DP

The good news, is there is $1 off any Herbal Essence coupon in the 6-12 RP, so you can get a better deal and correctly by doing the following:
6 bottles of shampoo/conditioner
6 stylers = @29.82
-18 for the buy shampoo get $3 off styler from P&G
-6 for the $1 off (using on the shampoo/conditioner)
= $5.82 oop and earn $10 gift card!!!!!  WOW great deal -make sure you break it up in two transactions per the limit 4 like coupon rule and sorry for incorrect prior post readers :(

Papermate Grip pens 8 ct $1.99
Earn $1.99 in ECBS
Final Cost: FREE

Skintimate Shave Cream $2.19
Spend $20 get $10 in ECBS
-$1 insert 7-24 SS or IP (or if you printed the $1.50 last week - no longer available)
(I got 10 with $1 coupons since I didn't print $1.50, all the coupons beeped and were manually put in? and got $10 ECBS back)
Final Cost: $1.90 for 10 bottles

Kotex U liners pads or tampons $3.49
Earn $2 in ECBS
-$1 insert 7-24 SS (my papers didn't have these??)
Final Cost: .49

Renu sensitive 12 oz $7.89
Earn $6 in ECBS
-$2 insert 6-12 SS -my store was sold out :(
Final Cost: .11 MM

Bengay $5.99
Earn $2 in ECBS
-$5 printable - no longer available
Final Cost: $1.01 MM

Crest Pro Health, Outlast, 3d White 4.2 oz, multi-protection rinse 8.4 oz or Satin Floss 27-55 yards $2.99
Earn $2 in ECBS (limit 2)
-$1 homemailer for 3d white (can't recall where I got this)
Final Cost: .01 MM

*I also got a $2 Nature Made CRT tonight at the coupon machine.  Hoping to get another tommorrow to combine with the bogo sale on the Nature Made vitamins, along with my $1 off manuf coupon from All You.

Some of these deals were NICE MM after using 2 $10/50!
So if you have the $10/50, might I suggest you try to combine enough of these deals to make them work for you.

The diapers in my picture were purchased with the free coupons I have been receiving for every 6 of the clearance diapers I have been getting.  I redeemed 2 today as fillers to get to $50 on the transactions!  Diapers were regular price of $11.49 so HUGE filler item for free :)

(It is too late tonight to break down my transactions but I spent $18.99 in ECBs and $1.59 in cash and got back $15.99 in ECBS and the $10 gas card for a final tally of $5.41 in profit!

RecycleBank - Earn another 45 points on Green your vacation

Recyclebank has opened up the last tab for the Green Your Vacation - Staycation.  I earned another 45 points from clicking on the various items in the tab.
If you have not yet joined Recyclebank, what are you waiting for?  It is free and earning points is pretty easy.  You can then turn your points into coupons for products like Coke or Aveeno, or you can redeem for $/$ coupons for Randalls or Staples.  There are many different coupon offers, even one for a free Cookie Cake (I redeemed on of these for my little ones upcoming birthday).

If you are new to the program, check out my post here to see other ways to earn points.

Pampers Gift to Grow - Offering Double/Triple Points - Limited time

I have to admit I am a creature of habit and if you offer a suprise promo on me, I will tend to remember it and sit on "points" or codes until the very last minute just in case you try to pull another sneak promo.
As an example of what I mean, free homemailers! Anytime I can get a coupon for a free item, I hoard them and file them by expiration date. I keep close tabs on the expiration dates so I can use them the last day if needed BUT I hoard them for special Money Maker or double promotions. Like right now, for example, I have free Tombstone pizza coupons for buying Hasbro games several months ago(I am sure I blogged about it, but cannot seem to find my post to link.) Anyway, I earned these free Tombstone coupons and have been sitting on them for about 1 month now. Well, Tombstone happens to be an item on the Kroger Mega Sale so not only am I getting them FREE, but Kroger is paying me .50 to take them out the door! This is what I mean about waiting for BETTER than FREE.

Anyway, I am rabbit trailing so let me get back on course. Pampers Gift to Grow! If you have not signed up, you should consider it!
1. It is FREE to join.
2. They offer free points codes often, so earning can be FREE
3. They have really cool rewards (even Starbucks gift cards from time to time)

Ok, so back in May-July 1997(yes, I actually have a spreadsheet!) they offered double points for EVERY Feel and Learn and Easyups code entered during the month. Well, lucky for me I was hoarding and was able to earn 1970 bonus points for all the codes I entered(back then they didn't limit the bonus points and my kid had just started potting training and there was an awesome double dip at Target!) All those points earned me an awesome Kettrike for my first born.

Well, I have been at it again hoarding points because there has not been any rewards that have peeked my interest and to be honest, Pampers has been only offering face value for points.

Well, even if you are not truly INSANE like me, you can still benefit RIGHT now! From now until 8/31/11, Pampers is offering DOUBLE points for every Splasher code you enter and TRIPLE points for every wipes code you enter between now and 8-18-11 (limit of 100 bonus points!)
Wow! I will definitely be maxing out this promo and I suggest if you have the points, enter them NOW while they are worth more!
(I am opening my spreadsheet of unused codes right now! lol)

New Olay Rebate - finally posted!

If you read my shopping trip at CVS, you saw I mentioned a new rebate for $20 back wyb $50 in participating Olay products. Of course, when I went to Olay.com to get the rebate (as advertised in the CVS ad) it was not there. Well, it seems the P&G folks were a little behind and finally got the link LIVE. Go here to print the form.

Now, to find a deal to make this FREE or a money maker.......
Basically, you have NOW(actually last Friday) until 9-2 to purchase $50 worth of Olay facial moisturizers, facial treatments and/or facial cleansers.  Submit the form and receipts and get back $20 mail in rebate!  Must be postmarked by 9-16-11.
Now to hope for a good RR or ECB deal to combine for less out of pocket.

Randalls $5 off 5 - Experiment with 50% off stickers

*Note - I just had most this post typed up and accidently deleted it, so argh, typing it all out again!

On my quest to find some more singles of the Seattles Best Coffee to use my last 2 coupons, I stumbled upon ALL these boxes of Betty Crocker Fruit snacks with 50% stickers. Well, I LOVE testing 50% tags combined with these kind of promotions because many times they somehow turn into money makers! I have to admit though, I didn't even pretend to know what my total was going to be because I did a transaction yesterday with granola bars that DID not go as I expected it to! Also, these NEW receipts from Randalls are VERY confusing to me and I think I need to go back to college for another degree to make sense of them!

Anyway, on to my test! (I hope I can explain this in such a way not to lose you guys!- Don't wan't to end up sounding like Charlie Brown's teacher as your eyes glaze over, lol) I knew the BC fruit snacks were supposed to be .99 wyb 5 or more, but it seems math escaped me at that moment because I honestly thought they were going to cost me .25 a box. Well, that is not how it worked out.
Basically, they rang like this:
$2.99
-$1 store savings
-$1 store coupon
I determined the $1 store savings was to take them to $1.99 which is the pre-promo price. The second $1 savings is for the 50% tag ($1.99/2 = $1).
Well, when the cashier hit the total button, all the Cereal promo -$1 came off making each box -.01 BEFORE coupons! I got 28 boxes and used 14 coupons for .50/2 so .50 x 15 (1 coupon doubles) = $7.50 overage + .28 (the penny overage on pricing) = $7.78 overage (man, I should have thought to grab some block cheese!)

Ok, so then, I also noticed they had Baby Ruth bars with 50% off stickers and I had to get those out of principal. (back story - when dh and I were at Target making up our wedding registry, I made the mistake of letting my husband hold the scanning gun. While my back was turned, he scanned a Baby Ruth bar! That became quite the joke of our registry and needless to say, he got LOTS of Baby Ruth bars as present at our wedding!)
I also had found some tearpads several months ago for candy bars so thought I could make a small money maker out of this deal too!
The bars were $1.19 - 50% = .59 each. I had Buy 2 get 1 free AND save $1/2 bars. My plan was to purchase 15 and use 5 Buy 2 get 1 free, and 5 $1/2 (15 - 5 free with buy 2 get 1 free coupon = 10 I was paying for, hence pigging backing the 5 $1/2 for the ones I was paying for)
Well, somehow, according to my receipt, she rung up 17 Baby Ruth bars but took off a weird amount*(she was frazzled and I will get to that in a minute). So, I can't really understand the math on that one, but I do know it SHOULD have been -$1.15.

Then I threw in a Oreo blonde pack for .59 - .35 tearpad(found this about a month ago at a gas station = FREE.
And a Pure Protein bar .99 - .50 All You magazine coupon = FREE

Somehow I paid .43 for everything and she gave me coupons back because I would have gone negative had she scanned them! (2 $1/2 candy bar coupons and my 2 Seattles best singles coupons)

So, all I can seem to say, is it appears the 50% off tags are still working the way they did before on these promos, which is AWESOME news! (of course I still have the NV granola bar purchase I need to make sense of???) So, keep looking at the clearance racks, because with these promos the stores offer, something can easily turn into a money maker and you can always donate the item if you don't use it(my kids were upset to hear they won't get to tear into these boxes of fruit roll ups, lol)

*Ok, cashier finally was ready to call it quits. On these 50% tags the cashier has to scan the regular bar code and then scan the 50% tag right after. Well, at one point in the transaction she goofed and scanned the Baby Ruth twice while trying to scan the 50% tag. In an attempt to fix it, she tried to void the Baby Ruth bar only to find when you do that, it voids ALL the 50% tags that were scanned prior to that(hmmm perhaps that is what happened on my NV purchase?). Another cashier confirmed that yep, when you try to void it deletes those 50% savings and she would have to start over. She was NOT willing to do that since she had already done 28 boxes of fruit snacks and half the Baby Ruth bars, so she just took a store coupon off for $33.22 (the amount that was added back from the void)
I can't really make much sense out of parts of the receipt, but I do know she scanned 29 (not 28 fruit snacks) and 17 (not 15 Baby Ruth). When I asked if she wanted me to go to the service desk to take care of, she told me she was the front in manager and NO just leave, YIKES - she was polite and thanked me for shopping, but I think 43 items with 50% tags was her breaking point :O

Staples Deals - Small Money Maker with Recyclebank Coupon

I finally saw enough decent deals at Staples to use my $10/50 Staples coupon I printed last week from RecycleBank.
Combining the free after rebate items with the $10/50 made everything absolutely free, including the tax!
While there are certainly other ways to do the deal, I did it as follows:

2 Hammermill paper $5.99 each
1 Staples photo paper $9.99
1 Bic Brite Liner highlighters $4
1 McAfee Anti Virus Plus 1 pc $29.99
-$10/50
Tax : $3.79
Total $49.75 paid at register

I have already submitted the following Staples Easy Rebates (man these are easy, took me about 2 minutes!)
I opted for the checks too so I can use the money back anywhere!
$9.98 for Hammermill paper (4.99 rebate, limit 2)
$9.49 for Staples photo paper(9.49 rebate, limit 2 - I only bought 1)
$4 Bic Brite Liner highlighters

I will also mail in the rebate for McAfee (online submission was not an option for this one)

So $49.75 - $9.98 - $9.49 -$4 - $30 +.44 cost of stamp = Profit of $3.28!

Are You Honest?

This is an interesting social experiment. Honest Tea is setting up unmanned pop-up stores with ice-cold drinks across the United States. Each stand will ask visitors to leave a $1 in exchance for each bottle they take. This will be on the honor system but will have hidden camaras to catch the action and see who the most Honest city is! Kind of a neat experiment.
If you city is not participating, you can participate online and get real time updates on which city is the most Honest. Tell them whether you would be Honest or not and earn a limited edition coupon for $1 for Honest Tea! This coupons come in handy for CVS ECBs deal.
(When it takes you to facebook, click the Honest Cities tab NOT the coupon tab)
I do have a question for the folks at Honest Tea! Since I consider coupons a form of payment, would it be HONEST of me to leave a $1 Honest tea coupon for a bottle I take? What do you think readers?

Ben Gay $5 IP - Money Maker at Walmart

In case you missed, it appears there is a new $5 Ben Gay coupon and there are reports the full size is only $4.xx at Walmart and Target making it free (money maker at Walmart with the overage on the coupon). There are also reports it only allows one print per computer. Edit: OK, two friends have confirmed being able to print 2 per computer so I don't know where that info came from, lol.  I found the coupon under zip 77083 and healthcare.
You can always donate the Ben Gay if you don't use it :)

Thanks FreeSamplefreak and Belinda for the heads up!

Potential Better than Free Gum toothbrush - Kroger YMMV

If you have not heard of SavingStar yet, it is another site to load coupons to your loyalty cards. BUT unlike Cellfire and Shortcuts, this one is similar to the Upromise loadable coupons. The coupons do NOT come off at the register, but rather come off later (sometimes can take 1 month to show up) and get added to your account.
With SavingStar, once you have $5 savings in your account, you can cash out with a direct deposit in your bank account, via Pay Pal or cash out for Amazon gift cards! You just need to go here and load the coupons to your cards (right now only Kroger and CVS participates in my zip code).
Then, when you purchase the participating item, it will eventually put the money in your account. Go back at the beginning of each month to load the new round of coupons(they are only good for that month and will fall off your card at months end)

Well, since this saves to your account, you can use paper coupons with these loadables! Right now, SavingStar has a loadable for .55 on a Gum kids toothbrush. When I was at Kroger I noticed the toothbrushes were on sale for $1. If you subscribe to Parenting magazine, there was a .55 coupon inside the August issue. That makes 1 toothbrush (actually 2 because it was a 2 pack on sale) better than FREE!

Kroger - Huge Money Maker on Colgate Wisp - YMMV!

While cleaning up my house last weekend, I found a $10 Kroger gift card I apparantly got from Kroger during that blogger event when they told us about the end of double coupons. Well, seeing that is was Kroger money, I decided to go check out Kroger and pick up an item or two I needed. I went in hoping to find some Reach toothbrushes to get to 10 items without any out of pocket. My plans were to get cottage cheese and sour cream (both on mega).

Well, I must admit, I crossed the picket lines when I noticed this HOT deal staring me in the face! How could I not take advantage of this? It was begging to be picked!
The Colgate Wisp are part of the mega deal and it seems Kroger is clearancing out the Spearmint flavor for $1.19. Well, as you can see by the picture, they also had .75 peelies on them. Pair all that with the $1.50 oynso that is printing for each 2 you buy and you have a HUGE money maker(one that was so big, I had to shop Kroger!)

So the breakdown:
$1.19 each - .50 for mega sale - .75 peelie = -.06 at register
Then earn $1.50 oynso for each 2 purchased making each an .81 MONEY MAKER!

*I have NO clue how long the $1.50 oynso catalina is printing as I cannot find it advertised on SD or HCW.

Thanks to Kristin for even telling me their was a catalina deal on this(you did say Randalls, but it was worth testing at Kroger too)

Randalls - A few Clearance Finds - potential Money Maker

I went to Randalls yesterday to test the loadables and that was an odd experiment I will get to in a moment. But as is my custom, I checked out the clearance rack and found the following two items (multiples of each I might add)

Well, I went to the regular aisle and noticed Kashi is on sale for $2.99 this week.   Well then, that would make these boxes just $1.49 each.  What is even better, is you can get $2 off any Kashi item coupons with your earned points from Recyclebank.
Well, since the boxes will ring up $2.99 first, the $2 coupon should work beeplessly making for .51 OVERAGE on each box!!!!! SWEET (these were found at the Randalls on Fry and I-10 and I didn't buy any because I didn't have the coupons with me).  Good luck to someone that lives close by there.

Ok, so the loadables were interesting.  I wanted to test them out at a store that has uscan so I would know what what coming off and what wasn't.  Well, I am still not too sure I know the answer to that question, as the register was very odd and the shear fact that I had loadables on all the items, they seemed to want to cancel one another out.
I had both Cellfire and Shortcuts coupons for each item.

I first scanned a box of Fiber One 90 calorie bars @ $1.99.  I had 3 .40/1 loadables and 2 of those came off.

Then I scanned a box of Nature Valley granola thins @1.99.  I had 4 .50/1 loadables and 2 of those came off, but then the register "voided" the 2 .40 from the Fiber One bars (like it does when you use a paper coupon when you have loadables, but it should not have cancelled those off?)

Then I scanned 2 boxes of Betty Crocker fruit snacks @ .99 each.  I had 3 .50/2 loadables and 2 of those came off.

Then the computer got really weird.  When I scanned the 3rd box of fruit snacks(the fifth item for the $5 off 5 promo, the $5 came off)  But when I scanned the 6th box, it looked like the computer voided off the $5 savings and 1 .50 savings.  Looking at the receipt though, it appears the items did ring up for the after promo price.
On my second set of fruit snacks though, it shows a $2 savings in ecoupons and the first two boxes show $1 in ecoupon savings?  This is what really has be baffled as I know I only had $1.50 worth of ecoupons for the fruit snacks!  Super weird for sure and I think it is gonna take more trial and error to determine what these ecoupons are doing.

From my receipt, I seem to have paid $1.99 for the Fiber One 90 calorie bars (guess I could have used my .40 IP to save on that one since no ecoupons are listed under that)

The Nature Valley granola thins cost me .99 (2 ecoupons for .50 each came off and stayed off)

The BC fruit snacks cost me $1.96 for 4 boxes(savings of $3 in ecoupons???)

Cvs - A few more clearance finds

I actually meant to post this earlier but I decided to spend the weekend doing family stuff and not starring at my computer all day and night. I found these on Friday, but there is a pretty good chance you should be able to find some of thems items too!

I found the Goodnights mega pack (girls S-M are the only ones on clearance) for $4.94.
There is a $1 off IP here.

The Gillette Fusion facial wash and lotions all seem to be on clearance, ranging in price from $1.99-$2.34 each.
Combine this with the $2 insert 6-5 P&G and you have yourself a HOT deal!

Cvs run - Happy to get cheap Prevacid, and surprise ECB coupon tonight!

I was so happy to finally find a decent deal on Prevacid. Lucky for me the magic coupon machine keeps printing out a $10/50 so that certainly helped.

I got the diapers for my niece as they are on clearance for $2.87 a pack and we got insert coupons this weekend for $1.50 off any pack! Helped get me up to the $50 purchase before coupons.
Well, I was suprised by the magic coupon machine when it spit out a coupon for 2 free jumbo packs of diapers! (apparantly there is a hidden diaper deal on Huggies, you earn a free pack for each 6 you buy and I bought 15 packs on Friday, so 2 free YIPPEE!

Here is the breakdown of my transaction tonight:
2 Pantene shampoo/conditioner $6.97 - $3/2 insert 6-19 SS = $3.97
Earns $2 ECB for a final price of .99 each

2 Oral B indicator toothbrushes $1.99 each - $2/2 insert 7-3 P&G = $1.98
Earn $1 ECB for each one, making them both free

2 Prevacid 14 count $11.49 each - $4 booklet(found at Kroger pharmacy) = $14.98
Earn $10 ECB for buying $20 worth of participating products

7 Huggies diapers $2.87 - $1.50 insert 7-17 SS = $9.59

-$10/50 CRT coupon
Paid $21.28 oop but got back $14 in ECBs so really only cost me $7.28 overall. (That is like paying ~ $1 a pack per diaper and getting everything else FREE!)

I also received the following Mystery Coupons from the coupon machine(they call them mystery coupons in the ad)
$5 off any $20 Revlon or Maybelline Cosmetic Purchase
$5 off Facial skin care purchase, $20 or more (both these expire tomorrow!)

Also, I noticed the ad mentions a new Olay rebate for $20 back when you buy $50 worth of Olay, I will post this in a separate post so those not shopping CVS will see it as well! Need to come up with a good scenario to make this a money maker! (Ok, I cannot find this rebate offer on the Olay website, hmmmm)

Other deals I noticed but decided not to do this week:
Crest toothpaste $1.99
Earn $1 ECB (limit 2)
We have .75 inserts from P&G making it .24 after coupon and ECBS

Randalls Buy 5 Save $5 promotion - Free Frosted Mini Wheats with rebate

I saw the buy 5 save $5 in the ad this week for Randalls but this is the first since Wednesday I have been able to head to Randalls to see if there were any deals to be had with this promo!
I love Randalls promos like this because unlike Kroger, you do NOT have to buy in groups of 5, you just have to buy AT LEAST 5 and after that you get the promo price for ALL remaining items!
That is certainly a perk, especially since Randalls only doubles and triples 1 like coupon.

I took several pictures while there of the price tags of items that are on the promo. Seems several Kelloggs cereals are as cheap as $1.99 after promo, Life Cereal is as cheap as $1.49 after promo (we have .75 inserts), as is Cap'n Crunch, NV granola bars are $1.79, and Betty Crocker fruit snacks are .99.

Now, I have not worked deals yet with coupons but I plan to add to this post what I come up with (I have my two munchins tonight so I am limited and want to get this posted, but COME back as I plan on adding matchups very very soon)
Also, not sure if you noticed but those Frosted Mini Wheats (at least some varieties) have the Cars 2 codes in them which means $5 gas cards for 4 boxes!!!! I see an awesome deal, so please come back and see all I add......

For those of you that scored the $5 off 5 IP for Kelloggs cereal, you are in luck.  As you can see the Kelloggs Frosted Mini wheats are part of the sale (as are some other cereals) AND some of the boxes have the Cars promotion codes!
Use the $5/5 to get 5 boxes for just $4.95, then enter your Cars 2 codes for a $5 gas card back, making them all FREE (the card is a prepaid card so you can use it anywhere, not just for gas).

Will post more scenarios and deals under a new post so this one doesn't get out of control, lol
