Ok, how many of you feed you cat(s) table scraps? I personally don't because I don't want a cat to beg! Not only that, but with kids, I certainly don't want the peas ending up in the cat and not the kids, lol.
Well, as you should know, table scraps are not going to have all the essential vitamins and nutrients a cat needs to have a healthy diet. Also, did you know cats can be lactose intolerant too? So maybe letting them finish the milk from your cereal is not the best idea. (I know, but they are so darn cute and you don't want to waste it right?)
In an effort to educate pet parents about the common misperceptions of proper feline nutrition, 9Lives is committed to raising awareness to this issue by providing advanced nutrition for all cats. With the 9Lives Advanced Nutrient System, feline parents everywhere can rest assured knowing their cats are getting the essential nutrients they need to help promote healthy skin and coat, strong muscle growth and a healthy immune system among other benefits.
You can visit http://www.9lives.com/ to receive nutritional information on the Advanced Nutrient System. They also have some survey results that might shock you as to what people are feeding their cats!

I think the worst thing would probably be milk, and not on purpose. My youngest daughter eats her cereal at the living room table and one day left her bowl. Well before I got to it, the bowl was empty.
Thanks for the giveaway!

I admit that I used to have a cat that loved brocolli. Yes, really! So, I would occasionally give him a nibble of brocolli. (My sister worked for a vet and said it was fine, so I did check.)

The worst "gift" I ever received.... a mouse body. Yep, just the body.

unfortunately i have to admit it is bacon. when he gets in you face, drools, gets all glassy eyed and begs for it I do admit to giving in just a little (few tiny bites) to appease him.
I think the worst thing I have fed my cat was buffalo wings! He ate a few bites of it. I was curious if he was going to eat it :)
The best present I got was when my cat caught a bird and brought it to the doorstep. What we figured out shortly after that was that the bird was being bit by a snake at the same time! So we ended up with a bird and a snake actually.
The worst thing would be dog food. The dog's bowl is next to the cat's bowl and they always seem to be more interested in what the other one is having so since the cat liked it and and I ran out of cat food... guess what he had for dinner?!?
I could really, really use this giveaway right now because I'm living in a household with 5 cats (2 mine, 3 my in laws). :)
The worst thing I've fed my cats is fried chicken livers from the thighs. They love it every time I make chicken because they know they're going to get a special treat. Oh, and on the few occasions I've run out of food, I've opened full packets of cat treats (bought for free or near free) and put it in their dishes. It's so bad, I know.
My cat likes to leave me messes to clean up everyday. Litter everywhere. She uses the box and then covers it for 30 minutes. Litter everywhere! UGH!

The worst "presents" my cat has left me has been peeing and pooping on my clothes hamper because she's trying to assert her dominance over having a new kitten in the house.
Worst thing i've ever feed my cat- hmmm. Well, one of the cats loves sweet tea and will hunt down any glass left anywhere in the house and take a drink. She must have a touch of southern kitty in her.

cheetoes(he loves them, btw!)
The worst present has got to be part of a mouse (at least I found it outside). The head and part of the legs were missing...tail was intact. The cat left a bloody trail on the patio which lead me to the corpse. Yucky!
the worst thing i've ever fed one of my cats . . . hmmmm. . . my now-deceased scruffy used to LOVE fritos and would do just about anything to get one!
the worst present is from one of my current kitties, tom, who has taken to once every day or two pooping on our loveseat. well, on the quilt-covered showercurtain liner in which our loveseat is now covered!
Every now and then I will feed my kitties a piece of chicken from my plate. However, I have one cat that, for some unknown reason, LOVES chili and will find it every single time I make some for hubby. Odd little cat.
The 'best' present one of my cats ever gave me....I woke up to find a little mouse (dead) in each of my sandals that I wore everyday. 3 mornings in a row this happened and he sat there looking at me like he captured the moon for me. *sigh* I sure do miss that cat.
My cat is sooo picky, he won't eat anything but cat food... oh and tiny little birds, lizards, snakes, mice and grasshoppers. He snubs his nose at milk or tuna! Such a crazy cat.
My cat leaves wonderful presents of mice skulls, mice organs and fur tufts at the door.
I try to just appreciate the fact that he can be self sufficient if needed... but the cleanup is never pleasant...
The worst thing we gave our cat to eat was a chicken wing. For some reason he LOVES chicken....and did I mention it was a HOT wing? And just so happens because of that HOT chicken wing...we got the worst present from him too....diarrhea...everywhere for 2 days. Not a pretty sight!!!! or smell. He won't be gettin any more chicken again...HOt or not:)
The worst food I accidentally fed my cat was chips - I dropped a couple and he just munched away. In return I regularly receive lizards, spiders, roaches and the like. When I seem especially hungry he even brings me birds and mice. What a caring kitty I have!

the worse present I was ever left was a snake on top of my washing machine! he didnt get any cheetoes for awhile after that!
The worst thing I have let my baby kitty have is a sour skittle. She only licked it twice and then looked at me like I was crazy.
The worst present is probably the baby frog body she hid behind my night stand.
The worst thing I've (accidently!) fed my cat is ketchup! My daughter had some on her plate and was sitting on the floor, and our cat came up and dipped his paw in it and licked it! "Mom!!! Jake stuck his paw in my ketchup!!!!"
I thing the worst thing I give my cats would prolly be nibbles of cheese...you'd think they were mice! And either none of my cats are lactose intolerant, or I've just never given them enough dairy, but none of mine have ever gotten sick yet

THe worst presents my cats ever left me were Domo, and Elvis....my daughters' pet hamsters who escaped from their cages....in peices....on my bathroom floor
I only discovered them too late as I lay sprawled on the floor covered in blood and hamster remains after I had slipped and fell into them YUCK!
Sweetimpishpixie(AT)gmail(DOT)com
The worst wasn't so much what I fed my cat, but what he ate on his own.
One time he found a live mouse, chewed it's head off, then dumped it in my shoe. Was not a fun find.
I usually never feed my cats anything other than cat food, but one night I was eating popcorn & she wouldn't leave me alone. I gave her just the puffy part--no kernel. Thanks

The worst present she left was a dead snake--at least it was dead.
