Well, we just got $1.50 coupons in the Sunday paper so this make this a HOT deal. (Keep in mind, these coupons have the new P&G wording that states you can only use 4 like coupons per visit BUT we have .75 coupons from the 10-10 P&G)
So, your transaction should look like this:
5 Duracell 4 pack AA/AAA or 2 pk C/D or 1 pk 9V = $9.90
-4 $1.50 insert 11-14= - 6
-.75 insert 10-10 P&G
= $3.15, get back $3.
*You might also want to check your coupon stash, as I had a few $1 homemailers turning this into a small money maker.

If you buy 5 and it is only 9.90 you wont get a catalina if it is buy $15 dollars worth..or am I missing something.. I did the scenario as you wrote got no catalina but at least I got cheap batteries!

there is also a $1 off duracell in the current fiesta holiday coupon booklet. i plan using 4 p&g coupons along with 1 fiesta coupon in each transaction. my question is: when i use the duracell catalina coupon to purchase another set of batteries, will it produce another catalina?

Anon, the catalina seems to be working on regular price which is ~$3.xx. I did this deal with 5 and got the catalina. I used 4 $1.50 and 1 $1 homemailer and got the catalina

The catalina is supposed to be running until 12/4 the ones i received had that date on them. The original price not the sale price is what the catalina is based on. I tried to do it with buying 4 packs that were 3.69 it came up short of 15 dollars so i bought a 1.09 watch battery as filler and it worked still paying only 37ct a pack. my kroger will only take 3 of the same coupon not 4 so i had to modify the plan to fit. It also was a great deal on rechargeables at 2.00 off. Sometimes I mixed the rechargeables in with the regular batteries to get to 15 dollars. The catalina rolls nicely. This is a great idea for gifts as the duracell chargers are included in the sale too. Use the 2 dollars off coupon along with the 3 dollar cat from a previous transaction and get the chargers half price. If the catalina wasnt working for you I would check the original price. People who talked about the deal in the beginning said the orig price was 3.85 if that was the case it would work with four. But the krogers in katy are 3.69 bringing you up short by 25ct and not enough to receive the catalina. The best deal would be to use 4-5 coupons if your store will let you.
I notice this was posted on Tuesday -- do you know if the sale price on these batteries runs through this week too? I'd love to get some cheap batteries for all those Christmas toys we're about to have around here. Thanks! :D
My Krogers denied me the catalina because I used MCs. I was told at the Courtesy Counter that this had been posted on the store website. I confirmed that policy was ONLY for the Durecell and not all other catalinas.

I did this deal last week 3 transactions at 2 different stores using man q. I ended up 24 packs of batteries. In katy the kroger on 99 and on mason had no problem with it. The cashier even laughed as i used the 3 dollar cat to pay for the next ones.If only we could use more than three at one time that would be a good deal. But as long as you are using three duracell coupons and I had to use 1.09 watch battery filler to get to 15 dollars the deal rolled just fine.If you are in houston you may find a store where they are 3.85 as was originally advertised and then you could do 4 packs with 3 coupons and pay 50ct for 4 packs of batteries.The way I did it the deal came out to 37ct a pack. I also rolled it around to get chargers and rechargeable batteries for 5 dollars they make great gifts.
