Seemed like a pretty slow week at Walgreens, but I had some Register Rewards to roll. This is where the importance of asking for rainchecks come in handy! A couple weeks ago, the Triaminic strips were on sale for $5 with a $5 register reward when you bought two. Not only that, but $3 coupons had just come out and if you have the Healthy Savings booklet, that took off another $2. Combining all those coupons made them FREE and then they were giving out a $5 RR on top of that. I blogged about this here deal originally here.
Naturally, the stores ran out before the end of the week due to the couponers taking advantage of this wonderful sale. Now, normally, for weekly deals at Walgreens, rain checks would not do you any good because they cannot write them for the RR value.
BUT, because this was a monthly promotion, rain checks could be written for the sale price and if you happened to get one of these, works out perfect to get the item on a week they are NOT on sale, and thus NO competition!
I had two of these rainchecks, so a GREAT way to roll some $2 RR I needed to get used.
I did two transactions as follows:
#1:
2 Triaminic $5 each with raincheck - 2 $2 insert - $4 Healthy savings booklet = $2
1 Plastic straws .99 -.60 in ad coupon = .39
-2 RR
Cost oop : .39
Earned $5 in RR
#2:
2 Triaminic $5 each with r/c - $3 insert - $2 insert - $4 Healthy savings booklet = $ 1
2 St Ives body wash $3.39 each - $3.80 in ad coupon - 2 $1 insert = .98
1 Plastic straws .99 - .60 in ad coupon =.39
-2 RR
Cost oop: .37
So overall $5.24 MM
*Make sure you ask for rainchecks on monthly money makers, they really are a great way to roll register rewards during slow weeks!
Earned $ 5 in RR
