Going on a trip.......

I will be heading out tommorrow morning for Minneapolis. Thanks to MyBlogSpark, I will be heading to the Betty Crocker kitchens for TableTalk with 19 other bloggers to discuss nutrition, value and fun for dinner time as well as hands on making of dinner solutions.
I am looking forward to the event and meeting the other mommy bloggers in real life.
Brandie over at FreeSampleFreak has a great list of the other bloggers that will be in attendance. I look forward to sharing what I learn with my readers when I return on Monday night!

Toys R Us/Babies R Us -Earn 20% coupon for your OLD baby gear

If you are looking to purchase some new baby gear, you may want to head over to Toys R Us or Babies R Us between Aug. 28 and Sept 20th!

Toys R Us is launching it's own version of the Cash for Clunkers program, baby style.

Toys "R" Us (and Babies "R" Us) is offering customers the chance to trade-in used cribs, car seats and other children's items in exchange for a store discount.

The "Great Trade-In" event is designed to call attention to the fact that, due to safety concerns, certain used baby products, such as car seats and cribs, are not the best candidates to be handed down or resold.

During the "Great Trade-In" event, which begins Friday, August 28 and continues through Sunday, September 20, all Babies"R"Us and Toys"R"Us locations nationwide will accept returns of any used cribs, car seats, bassinets, strollers, travel systems, play yards and high chairs in exchange for a 20% savings on the purchase of any new baby item, in any of these product categories, from select manufacturers.

Manufacturers participating in the "Great Trade-In" event include Baby Cache, Babi Italia, Baby Trend, Bertini, Britax, Chicco, Contours by Kolcraft, Cosco, Delta, Eddie Bauer, Evenflo, Graco, Jeep, Nature's Purest by Summer Infant, Safety 1st and Sorelle. Customers can save 20% on a new purchase, from any of the specified product categories and from any of the aforementioned manufacturers, in Babies"R"Us and Toys"R"Us stores nationwide on the day they trade in their used item. Day care centers or other organizations who wish to exchange items in bulk are encouraged to contact their local Babies"R"Us or Toys"R"Us store prior to returning their used items to ensure adequate availability of new merchandise.
For the press release, please go here.
Keep in mind you must purchase the new item the same day you do your "trade-in". A home mailer I received states one coupon per customer.
Thank you Linda for this information!

Crocs Bogo Sale Going on Now

If you missed getting the Crocs Juneau during the Deal of the Week, you can try to get some now. They are $24.99 and you can still use customerloyalty09 code for 10% off. It would cost just $22.49 for two pairs(just $11.25 each). There is also a 25% off code that should work for non-sale items(slx8797). If the Juneau are not your style, or you don't want two of that style, you can mix and match from all participating varieties. Participating shoes have a notation under the item showing buy one get one free. I noticed they have several kids varieties included, which is perfect since my oldest is needing a new pair for Splash Days.

Don't forget, you can go through Upromise, Ebates, Mypoints, or several other shopping sites for further discounts(in the form of cash or points back).

CVS stop today

After picking up my kiddos, I decided to make a stop into CVS to pick up some Reese’s candy. My dh loves Reese’s and now that they make Dark Chocolate, he is SURE to gain 10 lbs!
I really confused the store somehow and got paid to actually purchase these items. I thought I was just going to get out NOT paying anything, but not ONLY did I not pay, but I left with $3 ECB I didn’t think I truly earned.
I had a coupon for a free CVS brand hand/body lotion up to $5 and a free CVS Gold Emblem nuts or cookies up to $5. I decided to get those before I forget and let them expire like my last one. Well, I chose the Honey Roasted Almonds for the nut(my dh won’t eat Almonds, so I knew I wouldn’t have to share, lol- I now wish I got the plain, these are a bit too sweet for me)
I also picked up the Total Moisture lotion at $4.99. When I grabbed it, I did notice they have an ECB deal going for a $3 wyb 2 select CVS skin care items. I had my two kiddos with me, so couldn’t really read the fine details of the deal so just grabbed my one freebie and headed to the candy.
Well, I got 12 Reese’s peanut butter cups at 2 for $1. I used 11 Reese’s coupons from the 8-23 SS and got them all free(last coupon was adjusted down to .50)
Well somehow, while asking the manager if I could use a bogo Reese’s coupon and a .55/1 together, she got very confused with my order. She rang my lotion 3 times and instead of voiding it, kept entering a coupon for the $4.99 price. So, upon looking at my receipt, it appears I purchased 3 lotions with 3 coupons!
So, of course a $3 ECB printed for the promotion mentioned above about purchasing 2 CVS skin care products. At this point, I think the manager just wanted me gone (lol) and my poor daughter was begging for a bathroom pitstop, so we just left it at that and I made $3 for buying what you see pictured!

Huggies Enjoy the Ride- MORE FREE points

I stumbled upon more free codes, thanks to Mercedes! Some of these I already had, but most were new to me, so possibly new to you as well. I originally posted about the Enjoy the Ride promotion here, so if you have not done these initial codes, try some out. Keep in mind these codes do expire at a certain point, unfortunately, I am not sure of most of the expiration dates, so you may just have to use trial and error and see which ones still work!(If you let me know which are expired, I would gladly update my post:)

Also, don't forget, if you took advantage of the Huggies Wipe promotion at Walgreens last week, some of those wipes have unique codes on the back of the plastic wrap, so don't know those OUT.
Some of those wipes even had Box Tops for Education, woo hoo!

Loadable Coupons explained

There is ONE comment I get more than any other, and it concerns loadable coupons. There is HUGE confusion on these and for VERY good reason! There are actively 5 loadable sites for your shopper card and each has their own little quirks and ways of operation. To make it even more confusing, they behave differently depending on what store you are using them in.
To help untangle this mess of loadable coupons, I have created a google document that outlines the ins and outs of loadable coupons at least for Texas. I have heard for other regions Krogers, all coupons will come off, but that just has not been the case, so these guidelines are written based upon mine and others experience in Texas.
Good luck!
Google document will also be in my right sidebar under the acronyms.

Free Digital Prints at Walgreens - Today only

Walgreens online photo is offering 20 free 4x6 prints today only. What I love about Walgreens photo is you don't actually have to pick them up today to get them free. Here is what you do. Go to Wphoto and upload your photos. Then pick out 20 to put in your shopping cart and check out using the following code: 20FREE4ME
If you choose in store pick up, you will not have to pay shipping. If you don't think you can make it by Walgreens to pick them up today, then make sure you select pay now option instead of the pay at store option. You will then "pay" with the code and your total will be zero, but you can pick them up within a week at your convenience.
Enjoy!

Walgreens run to use Register Rewards

I had a $10 Register Reward expiring today so I looked in the ad to make good use of it. I didn't really need anything, so I looked for register reward promos to lose as little value as possible since I have not had time to shop. Here is what I did:
1 Conair professional brush $2.99 (earns $2 RR)
1 Softsoap bodywash $3.99 (earns $4 RR)
7 Huggies baby wipes $2.79 each - $2 Back to school wags coupon - .50 insert(8-16SS) *One of the wipes is open because my dd decided to pee on the floor during checkout and I cleaned it up, lol the joys of potty training!
1 Wonder bread wheat $1 (not pictured)
Paid with $10 RR and .01 oop and earned
$4 for Softsoap, $2 for Conair brush and $5 RR which was a suprise*
*Apparantly Walgreens has a hidden promotion that if you spend $25 BEFORE coupons, you earn a $5 RR! So my transaction qualified!
If you have the coupons, you could buy 9 Huggies wipes at $2.79 each for a profit
The math:
9 x $2.79 = $25.11
- 9 * 2 = $18.00 Walgreens Back to School coupon
-9 * .50 = $ 4.50 (insert 8-16SS)
= $2.61 oop and earns $5 RR!
Even if you don't have the manufacturer coupons, it only costs you $7.11 and you would get back 5 so only $0.23 a tub! Great deal if you need wipes.

Walgreens FREE film developing- Today only!

Sorry for the short notice, I just read about this myself on Freebies4Mom.
What got my attention about this promotion is the one time use camara being part of the promotion. I don't know about you, but my kids LOVE one time use camaras and do not take very good pictures, lol(they are 5 and 3). I really HATE to pay for film developing knowing only a couple pictures are going to come out anyway. Walgreens to the rescue!

The deal: go here and print your coupon to get a free roll of 35 mm, APS, or a one time use camara developed for free today! You get one set of 4x6 prints and the negatives free with this coupon. Enjoy!

HOT Money Maker at Kroger $1 doubles

While waiting in line at Kroger to check out, Kim and I started talking about the free Nabisco cookies after the $1/2 coupons found in the Nabisco $55 booklets found at Kroger on the school Bus displays. Then it dawned on me! There is a $20 rebate in that book that could turn into a GREAT moneymaker. The rebate requires you to buy 10 Nabisco cookies/crackers (at least 4 oz), 5 Easy mac cups and 5 packs of Capri sun or Kool aid jammers. Well........................Nabisco Go Paks are $1 right now and with $1 doubles and the coupon= FREECapri Sun are $1.99 and there are $1/3 blinkies in front of them, so I got 66 *1.99 = 11.94 - 2 $1 coupons doubled = $7.945 Easy Mac cups $1 each - b2g1 free tearpad - 2 .55/2 tearpad = $1.80So $7.94 + $1.80 = $9.74 and earn $20 BACK!WOO HOO!!!!!! This will require at least 5 transactions due to the limit of 1 like double per transaction.

Kroger Tx/La region doing Super $1 doubles

It has been confirmed! Kroger Southwest region(Texas and Louisiana) will be doubling coupons up to and including $1. There is a limit of 1 like coupon per transaction, but this has the potential to be a GREAT chance to get some FREEBIES! I will be maintaining a list of items that should be free after coupons. Stay tuned for updates!

Great CVS run- Tommorrow's Sale

Thankfully, the CVS near my house sets the Sunday sale to start on Saturday. Since I had to head out to drop off some recycling and needed milk, I decided to get a CVS run out of the way today instead of waiting.

Luckily I checked HCW before I left and was able to go to CVS.com and get a $5/25 printable.
Please read this post from HCW on how to get your $5/25 as well.
I also read the weekly sneak peek to see what good deals CVS has to roll my ecbs. Right away I saw the candy was a money maker so I definitely planned on getting that. I also saw I had some decent coupons for Huggies to make them cheap. Here is the transaction I ended up doing:

30 single serve candy bars .50 each - $1/2 insert 7-26RP
2 Huggies diapers $9 each - $3 homemailer - $1.50 insert 7-19SS
1 Gallon milk $2.69
1 CVS lotion $1.49 - free CRT coupon
-$5/25 coupon(I actually handed this one over FIRST)*
Paid with $10 ecb and $1 and .20 from my giftcard and received back

$5 for purchasing $15 worth of candy
$4 for purchasing 2 Huggies
$1 for purchasing milk(I was not expecting this as it was not in the ad at HCW)
I will also receive $1.50 in my Upromise account since I loaded the Huggies ecoupon they currently have up.

So overall cost:

$11.20 - $5 ecb - $4 ecb -$1 ecb -1.50 upromise = -.30
I think I have a good start on Halloween candy for the trick o treaters now!
*On the $5/25 coupon, the register beeped and the cashier informed me the register was saying it was not active until 8-10. She told me she would push it through anyway since the coupon does not have that written anywhere on it, so YMMV as to whether you can use it early or not.
It would be a good idea to get it soon though so you will have it available when needed.

Wanchai Ferry Review and Giveaway

Thanks to MyBlogSpark, I was given the opportunity to sample Wanchai Ferry frozen entrees. I was sent the Orange Chicken to sample and I have to say it was delicious! I am already a chicken enthusiast, so this was a perfect fit for me and my family. My kids were a bit skeptical when we set it in front of them but when they left the table, they left "happy" (empty) plates.
I was running late getting home yesterday and was happy to see this takes only 15 minutes to make and just requires 1 skillet. It tasted so much better than take-out too. Also, these meals have no MSG! Not something you can be sure of when dining out.

MyBlogSpark has been generous enough to also send me a second coupon to get one more entree free as well as the "Stay-At-Home" prize package pictured above. This prize package includes Asian inspired rice bowls, chopsticks and bamboo placemats.

Now it is your chance to win one of these "Stay-At-Home" prizes with 2 coupons for free Wanchai Ferry.

You can earn up to 5 entries for this giveaway, but I need you to leave a separate comment for each entry. (If you do not leave separate comments, your comment will only count as 1 entry). You have until Wed. Aug 12th @ 10 am to leave comments.

The first is mandatory for the giveaway and the others are bonus and optional
1. Leave a comment with a funny or inspiring fortune you have gotten(if you have never gotten a fortune, make one up) This is worth 1 entry. To earn up to 4 other entries, do one of the following and leave a comment that you have done it:

Bonus entries- make sure you leave a separate comment for each bonus entry
2. Follow or Subscribe to my blog (if you already subscribe, leave a comment telling me)

Kroger Lunch Run- Cost .18

Stopped into Kroger to get some snacks for my kiddos for after school and found some more yogurt reduced to quick sale. I did this in two transactions since I had to go out to my car to grab some coupons for the Fiber One.

First transaction:
2.4 lbs bananas $1.18 - $1 produce winetag
3 Yoplait yogurts .99 each - 3 .35 insert tripled(adjusted to .99) 7-12SS

Second transaction
2 Horizon chocolate milk $1 - .25 insert tripled 8-2 SS
3 Yoplait yogurts .99 each - 3 .35 insert tripled 7-12SS
3 Fiber One yogurt .99 each - $1 insert 7-12SS
This transaction actually went negative because she put the yogurt coupons in for max tripling and pressed taxable so had -.33 tax.
Total was -.04 so she just zeroed it out and I paid nothing

All the yogurt coupons beeped because they were reduced for quick sale.

Reminder- Free Chocolate Friday

Don't forget today is free chocolate friday again. Go to Mars website to get your free Chocolate. You should receive an email confirming you have won after your registration. Limit 4 wins per household for the duration of the promotion.
Free chocolate FRIDAY.

Walgreens $5/25- another trip

I wanted to do another round of deals at Walgreens to load up on peanut butter. Luckily, I found a store with a ton of stuff in stock so I was able to get peanut butter and still leave plenty for another customer. I also did the Kelloggs promos again because my sister wants to split the stuff, so I will send the rebate form for her and we will split the goodies.
Here is the breakdown of what I got this round:
2 Pulls Ups clearanced for $3.19 - $2 printable(no longer avail.) - $1.50 homemailer
1 Vitamin conditioner $3.99 (earns $4 RR)
4 Kelloggs pop tarts $ 2 each - 2 $1/2 insert 8-2 (these are going to a friend)
8 Skippy peanut butter $2 each - 4 $1/2 insert 8-2 RP
1 Cheez Its $2 - .75 printable
4 Kelloggs rice krispie treats $2 each - 2 $1/2 insert 8-2
1 Corn Pops and 1 Raisin Bran $2.50 each - 2 $1 peelies
$35.12 (I messed up with my math BIG time on this one and didn't need to get so much, lol)
-$5/25 = 30.12
Tax $.15
Total oop $30.27 but got back
$4 RR for Vitamin conditioner, $5 for Kelloggs items, $2 for Kelloggs cereal, $10 for Skippy peanut butter and will get another $10 check for the Kelloggs rebate so
$30.27 - $4 RR - $5 RR - $2 RR - $10 RR - $10 = -.73
So after my stamp, pretty much got everything free.
There are certainly better ways to do this promo, but I really wanted peanut butter and Raisin Bran. The rest of the items are for friends and family.
The good news is Walgreens extended the $5/25 coupon through Saturday, so you still have time to go out and get some good deals!
*Make sure if you purchase the Kelloggs items for the rebate, that you keep the UPCS. Don't donate or giveaway, until you have those UPCs for your rebate.

Baked Chicken Nuggets

A couple weeks ago I started following a cooking blog. That is crazy for me as I don't cook! But I LOVE this blog. It is called 5dollardinners and it is WONDERFUL. Not only are the recipes CHEAP to make, but they are easy and nutritious. I will be adding this blog to my blog roll for my readers because I really think you should check it out. Even someone that doesn't cook like me can find some good, easy recipes. I love that many of her recipes don't call for those obscure ingredients that I non-cook NEVER has, like ginger, onion root, etc!
One recipe that really caught my eye was for Chicken Nuggets. My kids LOVE nuggets, but I don't like that they are fried so not the best for them. Well Erin at 5dollardinners has what she calls Oven Fried Chicken Nuggets. I had to give these a try since they are actually just baked.
I did tweek her recipe a bit because my family are a bunch of wussies and even griped that it was still too much pepper, lol. Here is what I did, and you can compare that to what she did here
A little over 1 lb of Chicken tenderloin chopped into nugget size pieces(I got this for .06 today at Kroger with sale and $3 winetag chicken coupon)
2 tbsp mustard whisked together with 3 tbsp milk(she used spicy or dijon mustard)

Erin used flour with paprika, pepper and salt for this step. I used croutons and that I banged into crumbs and skipped the paprika (got the croutons free at Heb during a meal deal promo) I didn't quite have enough croutons so I grabbed one of my Kashi Heart to Heart 1 serving cups I got free at Target with printable and banged it to finish covering my remaining chicken(couldn't taste a noticeable difference)

This is what my nuggets looked like on a foil lined cookie sheet before cooking at 425 for 15 mins.

This is what the nuggets looked like after they were cooked. I thought they were yummy, but I chose to also dip them in Spicy mustard to eat. Dh said I added to much pepper, lol. I think they were delicious!
Please visit Erins blog for more easy yummy recipes. I know I will be finding some more to change out our old boring stand bys.(And NO, I am not getting paid or ANY incentive for hyping up her blog. I just really do not cook and even I could not screw this up!)
