Kroger $1 Doubles in TX/LA Saturday 8-15 ONLY

Update!
The ad has officially been released so now I will be adding to the google document even MORE offers and freebies for this event. Stay tuned for an updated spreadsheet in the next day or two. I will be out to the store jotting down more prices and the great members of HCW are helping. I hope to have an updated list soon, so please stay tuned for all the freebies.
Find the current list here, and if you are viewing while things are moving, don't be suprised, lol. I sneak in working on it every free moment I get.

There has been some question as to when this sale is going to start, and a very reliable source has informed me the stores should have the computers set at MIDNIGHT! I hope they are right!

Don't forget to head over to cellfire, shortcuts, pgesaver and upromise to load up your Kroger card for added savings. Might make for small overage on select items.

Hey, last night while I was on the prowl for peelies and WTs, I spotted a Kellogg's Back to School booklet that advertised $104 in savings, but that included the $70 from Dell plus the $10 Fuel for School Rebate.

All of the coupons in there will dovetail quite nicely with the sale and the Super Doubles.

Have you seen it?

I was just wondering out loud, about the wording on the kroger double coupon ad, "Limit 1 like ITEM per purchase" (not like COUPON). I know they probably really don't mean actual item and probably mean coupon, but I really would hate to run into some technicality with a power-trip cashier which has happened at all stores, not just Kroger.
Coupons in question would be the coupons.com $1.00 2 Keebler cookies, coupon from Vocalpoint for Free Rice Crispies and $1.00 off 1 Rice Crispies. Kroger has a great sale, in my opinion, to buy 4 select Kelloggs items and save $4.00. I'm trying to buy 10 items in one transaction for the Kellogg back-to-school $10.00 rebate and $70.00 off Dell computer offer. I figured I could use 1-$1.00 off 2 Keebler cookies, 1-FREE Rice Crispies cereal, and 1-$1.00 off Rice Crispies cereal. That would give me 4 items and I'm sure I will find coupons for 6 more.
I'm just wondering that as long as the numbers on the coupon are completely different, but for the same item, if that's a problem.
Of course I know to just go back for another transaction, but all 10 Kelloggs items need to be purchased in one transaction.
Just kind of wondering out loud :)

Kristin, was the Kellogg's booklet just on the shelf like someone forgot it there or was it a display stack? Was it in the Houston area. Since it included the $70.00 Dell coupon it sounds similar to what is offered in the Kellogg's rebate. If there are coupon booklets out there for free, maybe I'll save some brain-cells trying to find the best Kellogg's rebate deal, even though I won't get the $10.00, it sounds like I'll be getting a lot of coupons to make up for it :)

Anon2, the Back to School Booklets can be found on a HUGE school bus display in select Kroger stores. I have found one store had it in the wine aisle, the other had it near the stationary/books aisle

Anon1, I am sure it is just a wording glitch. A close source told me the manager said you can use multiple like coupons but only 1 will double.

@Anon - Yup, I'm in Pasadena, and it was in the Back to School Section. My Kroger only had about 10, and I took a couple.

The coupons were for $2 off of milk, bread and fresh fruit when you buy different Kelloggs products. It would pay for your milk and if the Sara Lee bread continues, you could get two of those for free. Plus, I bet you could get a good amount of fruit for $2.

thanks for this info. Will have to plan my shopping list for Kroger.

I specifically asked my Kroger store when the $1 Double would start. My Kroger store is only open from 6a-1a -- not 24 hours. I was told I couldn't get the deal until 6a when they open. Not at midnight.

Is there any way to print off your list?

hi

i was wondering if they double $1 coupons and the item is 1.88 will they give the overage of 11 cents or will they adjust to what ever the product is priced at therefore no overage? also is this the first time kroger's has done this, and how often do they do this special sale?

katycouponers said...

Anon, the coupons will auto adjust down to NOT allow for overage.
The only way to get overage this sale is with loadables.
This is the FIRST time Kroger has done this in 10+ years(that is how long I have lived here and NEVER seen this type of deal)

It cannot be normal for me to get so geeked up over grocery shopping! The Kroger near me said their computers likely won't be updated until 1:30 AM or so. All my frozen food would be thawed by then! I'm going to call again tomorrow and see what they say. Otherwise I'll just go to the regular one that opens at 6 and hope people decide to oversleep!

I've seen people talking about the 1.00/2 coupons not being part of it and also internet printables. Do you know if this is true or is it up to individual stores?

also thank you for all your hard work in compiling the google list for all of us. it helps a tremendous amount.
thanks,

Will they double coupons that say DO NOT DOUBLE? Also, will they double the Kroger coupons that come in the mail? I got 2 types of Kroger coupons. One in an envelope and one in a booklet. The ones in the booklet say DO NOT DOUBLE.
