I got happiness in my mailbox today(Saturday) so had to make a quick trip to Walgreens. My great trader friend Mike sent me some $1 off Oreo Cakesters coupons since I didn't get any papers the week they came out(I know lazy me). Anyway, went to Walgreens since they have a promo right now, buy 2 Cakesters at $5, get a $3 RR. With the $1 coupons that makes the cakesters FREE!. Of course, I wanted to use my St. Ives $3 RR to pay so I had to find a filler item. For two transactions, I bought these Spiderman coloring books on clearance for .50 each. These will make a great stocking stuffer for my nephews. My cost on both those transactions were .50 after the 2 $1 cakesters coupons and my $3 catalinas.
I stopped at one more Walgreens on my way home and got two more cakesters and found two packages of Pull Ups on clearance for $2.89 each. I used one $2 coupon and one $1.50 coupon(both home mailers) and spent $5.47 oop(no RR used this transaction) and got back $3 for the cakesters.
* I believe the cakester deal still goes for one more week, so you still have time to take advantage of this great free deal!

Ok I'm lost...I did this a couple times today ..I thought you had to buy a gallon of milk as well to get the RR?? I needed the gallon of milk so I thought it was a great deal anyway!!!
was there a sign at your walgreens about the cakesters, because after i read another blog last week about this i checked walgreens in houston when i was going in anyway and didn't see any sign about rr, just 2 for $5.00 sale. i have the same coupons you used, but i don't want to try the offer and not get the rr back because i just don't have even that little bit of money to spend on something i usually wouldn't buy. i could only do it if i got the $3 rr back because the two boxes would end up being free after i use the rr on something else i need, like the aquafresh toothpaste offer that will give me $3rr to use again, etc etc when i find other rr deals. i know there's going to be people that say to just not do the offer, but that isn't at all fair or right because if someone in the same area gets a deal then anyone should be able to.
Anon, I am sorry, but there was no sign even advertising the sale price at my stores. You could possibly try the deal and if it does not work, return the product right then and there. If you inform the cashier ahead of time you are trying to do the RR deal, they should be more understanding with the return if it does not print.
Anon 1- I don't know anything about milk as my stores had no signs listing this deal. I just bought the cakesters because a few blogs I visit reported this deal.
2 of my walgreens did not show this deal. One had the regular price for the cakesters and the other had them on sale: 2/$7, so I didn't try the deal. I was really wanting to do it, too. My kids love cakesters and we almost never buy them because they are not worth it.
Grommom, did you ask for a price check? Mine were marked 2/$7 at one store but still rang up as $2.99 then second at $2.01.
Every Walgreens I have been to in my area, of course for other deals than the cakesters, either have a sign "Buy 2 Nabisco Cookies and 1 gallon of milk, get $3.00 rr" and another store has a small sign "Buy 2 Cakesters and 1 gallon of milk, get $3.00rr". No where have I seen "buy 2 Cakesters, get $3.00 rr", NOT even in the expired ads in the month of June. Maybe there is some loophole, hoop jumping going on because I haven't seen any legitimate ad or sign about this deal.
