The mega event involves buying 10 participating items in a single transaction to get $5 off instantly. You HAVE to buy in groups of 10 to get this pricing so my suggestion is to use reusable shopping bags or hand carts inside your shopping cart to keep tally. If you buy 12 items, the 2 extra items will not be at the additional .50 discount, but you can buy multiples of 10 (20, 30 etc).
OK, so now that I have roughly explained the mega to you, let me show you what I noticed on my walk.
Glade has some try me free hangtags on their fragerance mist starter sets. Sooo if you include one of these in with one of your mega runs(need 9 other items) you could possibly turn this into a profit of $1.50!
The mister refill will ring up $3.79 on your receipt, which is the price you get to circle for the rebate. Then, if you purchase 9 other mega items, you will get .50 off instantly. Throw in this $1 coupon, and you are paying just $2.29 at the register but can get $3.79 back in rebate! Be sure to have the hangtag though cause you need to include that in your rebate submission.
Also, reader Britney, just informed me there is a loadable coupon on the Kroger Plus card that will earn you a free refill when you buy this starter kit! Be sure to load the coupon at least 1 hour before shopping and be advised the refills are NOT part of the mega so you still need 9 other items with these.
Another Glade product I noticed that has the try me free as well are these oil diffuser starter kits. They are also part of the mega event and there is a $2 printable coupon here. So again, if you include these in a mega event run, you can earn $2.50 more back than what you actually pay.
There is a loadable coupon on the Kroger Plus card that will earn you a free refill when you buy this starter kit too! Keep in the mind the refill is not part of the mega so don't count that toward your 10 items.
Just make sure it has the peelie for the rebate and both of these rebates require an original receipt so you need to do them in separate transactions if you want to do both.
While not free like last time, the Brillo Estracell sponges will be just .59 after $1/2 coupon from 5/20 Red Plum insert.
Wisk is on the mega deal. $3.99 after mega or $1.99 after $2 coupon from 6/10 Red Plum insert. There is also a SavingStar loadable you should load before you shop. You can get $5 back when you buy $15 worth of Wisk items (can be across multiple transactions)
Deal idea:
Purchase 4 Wisk on mega @ $3.99 each = $15.96 (you will need 6 other participating items with this deal)
-$8 - 4 $2 insert coupon
=$7.96 at register but earn $5 in your SavingStar (you can cash out at $5!!!)
Final cost of $0.74 a bottle!!!!!
Smartfood Selects are part of the promo at just $1.99 a bag.
Use this $1 printable to get them for .99.
Capri Sun Super V is $2.49 or just $1.49 after $1 coupon from 6/17 Smart Source insert.
And now a few deals my coupon bud Courtney mentioned to me (sorry no pictures this time):
Jif to go is $1.99 - .75 IP = $1.24
Pepperidge Farms Jingos $1.99 - $1 IP = $0.99
Doritos $1.99 - $1/2 tearpad = $1.49 each
Kraft Salad Dressing $1.49 - $1 IP = .49
Wet Ones $1.79 - printable(no longer available, can't remember value) = ?
Don't understand my lingo? Go here.

There were a lot of freebies/"cheapies" with this Mega sale... hopefully a sign that Kroger is starting to get it's act together!
A few other items worth mentioning (listed prices were at my local store after Mega discount):
Naked Coconut Water 11.2oz @ 75¢
- $1/1 facebook IP
= 25¢ MM!
Smartwater 1L @ 75¢
- $1/2 Kroger eQ (you have to load this from the vitaminwater promotions page)
= 25¢ each
Mentos Gum (15pc) @ 50¢
-$1/3 Q from 6/3 SS
= ~17¢ each
Dean's Dips @ $1
-$1/2 IP (from signing up for their newsletter)
-$1/2 SavingStar eQ
= $1 OOP (free if you count SavingStar funding and use IP)
Tony's Pizza @ $1.49
-$1/1 IP (Coupons.com Savings Club)
= 49¢
Also worth mentioning but not in Mega are Milky Way bars, on "sale" @ 99¢ each (but B2G1F) . If you use the $1/2 facebook IP, you can get them for, at worst, 33¢ (WYB 3 and use 1 IP)
Are any variety of fruit snacks part of the mega event?
Lisa
Lisa - I didn't see any as part of the mega, but I know there was a big sign at my local store that the Kroger brand fruit snacks were $1 each.
Lisa, I didn't see any signed as such.
GlennJ I didn't post about the coconut milk because some suggested those IPs are against Kroger policy of 75% rule. I stumbled upon the Mentos today while at store getting my mom the Wisk and her free pet foods from the pet game. Also the loadable for her free Glade did not come off so I had to have them remove that, grrrr.
Thanks for the rest of the list
Thanks for responding. Love ur blog!!!
Lisa
Jello 6 packs $1.78 mega price ,have $1/1 peelies and got a $2 OYNO when I purchased 10. So. $.58 each final cost and a great deals to me on 711/2012
Thank YOU for your list (and the post about the Kingsford deal) Stephanie!
I sometimes forget that I have a VERY coupon(er) friendly Kroger crew at my local store - so the coconut water IP was no hassle for me, especially since it is for 80% of the sale price (before mega discount). Will try to keep that in mind if/when posting in the future!
One other item I forgot to mention was Old Spice Basic deodorant. These rang up for a $1 at my store (after mega), so free if you use the $2/2 Q from this month's P&G insert.
Good to know about the old spice, made add those to the post as not everyone reads the comments :D
I think I also saw Brut deodorant is still $1 so free if the coupon is still in date.
I saw a $2 coupon in this Sunday paper for the glade mist starter kit...I believe the mega event price is $3.29, so after $2 coupon only $1.29. Not bad!!!
