Kroger mega sale deals

Sorry it has taken me so long to get this posted. I have been working late and barely had time to shop, much less post. Luckily this mega sale goes for 2 weeks so plenty of time to get some goodies cheap. I have done several runs now trying to get a variety of items I could use and definitely grabbing the freebies and money makers along the way. Some of these deals I have found on my own and some are thanks to the posters at HCW and a couple coupon buddies who have emailed me the deals (you know who you are ;)

The mega deal involves purchasing 10 participating items and then $5 comes off your total at the end. The GREAT news about the mega deals is that this method of discount allows for overage. For example, the vitamin water is on sale for $1.25 but .75 after the mega deal. I have .50 coupons that double to the full $1 because the register sees the before mega sale price.
For my breakdown, I am going to use the AFTER mega sale price (just add .50 to each item to determine the before mega sale price)
Remember, you can click on my pictures to enlarge it.
Remember my Kroger doubles .50 coupons and triples .35 coupons
Trans #1:
Not part of mega deal - Honest tea $1 - .50 IP (can print 3 per computer)= FREE
Mega deal:
Qtips $1.50 - .30 tripled 5-23 RP = .60
3 Dixie plates $1.49 - .50 insert 5-23 RP = $1.47
1 Dixie napkins $2.49 - $2.99 peelie for free wyb 2 plates = -.50
1 Gatorade .50
3 Vitamin water .75 each - .50 tearpad(found at CVS) = -.75
1 Scotch 3M Foam mounting squares .99 - .50 IP = -0.01
-$1 oynso catalina
Tax: .03
Cost oop: .34

This one cost me ALOT, but I bought 10 bottles of wine. My husband and I really like the Ruffino Chianti and I found these 10 bottles on manager special for $5 each. Well, since I purchased at least 6 in 1 transaction, I said 10%, so they were really $4.50 a bottle , YAY! Also, if you will notice the cool bag you get free for purchasing wine. These make GREAT Barbie transporters or storers :) I did this deal on Wed last week so the Dannon coupon is now expired and the Crayola catalina is only spitting out $2 instead of the $4 I got.

Here is this breakdown:
NON mega:
10 Rufiino wine $4.50 each = $45
4 Crayola products $1 each and earned $4 oynso
3 Fuze drinks $1 each - $1.59 ecoupon - 3 .75 tearpad(found at CVS) = -.84
4 Sudafed on clearance $2.09 each - $5/2 insert 4-11 RP = -1.64
MEGA deal:
4 Dan o nino yogurt $1.79 each - 1.50 insert(now expired) = $1.16 and earned $2 oynso
2 Philly cream cheese .99 each - $1 IP = -.02
1 Hunts tomato .45
2 Tombstone pizza $2.49 - $2 IP = .98
2 Aquafresh kids toothpaste $1 - 1 IP = FREE
3 Suave deodorant $1 - .50 insert 7-11 = FREE
3 Vitamin water .75 each - .50 tearpad = -.75
3 Motrin pm $2.50 - $3 insert 4-18 RP= -$1.50
2 Scotch 3m squares $1.49 each* -.50 IP = .98

*the Scotch 3m squares ended up costing me because I forget they were part of the mega sale so I had 22 items, not 20!
Tax: 1.84
Cost oop: $49.66 (remember $48.71 of that was for wine!) earned $4 and $2 oynso

Thsi was also done on Wednesay and my husband wanted me to pick up some veggies for a recipe.
Here is my breakdown:

1 Schick Hydro 3 $7.19 - $4 ecoupon - $4 insert 6-20 SS = -.81 (can mail in for $7.19 rebate here)
3 Crayola markers $3 (earned a $4 oynso catalina- it is only printing $2 now for this scenario)

How many crayola you have to buy to get the $2 catalina?

ZM - I am always amazed at all the great deals you find!

Went to Kroger on Sat to buy a few items on the Mega Deal. Got some items cheap but not with such low OOP like you do. Thanks for the blog!

BTW, those tearpads cpns you found from CVS....were they recent cuz I haven't seen them at all at my stores....just curious.

Thanks.

Jenn

We got a lot of the same stuff! Hope to get mine posted later on today.

Thanks again for sharing your finds!

Jenn, the Vitamin water are fairly recent. I found some about 2-3 weeks ago.

Anon
For the crayola cat, you need to purchase $10 worth to get the $2 cat and $20 to get the $4 cat. It appears it is working on PRE sale prices though, so 3 if you buy the markers(3.49-3.99 reg price) and more if you throw crayons into the mix(1.99 reg price)

You post a lot of deals that are either the last day of the sale or the coupon has expired. If you are going to post deals can you post it when it's enough time to acquire the deal. thanks

Great Job as always! Where in the store do you find the 3M foam mounting squares? I tried to find this where the scotch packing tapes were but did not see this.
Thanks.

Anon, this deal goes for 2 weeks and the only coupon that has expired that I used is the Dan o ninos. I work a full time job and raise 2 children that come FIRST so I am sorry I did not post to my blog in time for you to take advantage of the dan o nino deal. I do blogging in my spare time and ask nothing of my readers in return.
I fit in my post where life allows and if that does not suite you, feel free to move on. My family will ALWAYS come first and I am sorry if that does not suite you.

Anon, I am sorry but I cannot let this rest.
I stayed up until 1 am to get everything posted and got paid absolutely NOTHING for it! I have learned to be a calm person, but comments like yours are unwelcome and I am just tired of giving my time for free and getting hate in return. I purposely don't plaster this blog with ad after ad because I know many out there are spam and I hate spam as much as I know my readers do. I could be hawking all sorts of junk to my readers, but I am very particular about what goes on my blog, because I hate spam as much as everyone else and I hate being made a fool signing up for anything someone tells me too. I work HARD to provide legit, no strings attached deals(guess what! I don't get PAID to do that).
I would appreciate if you would unsubscribe to my blog as I don't need this kind of negativity in my life.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Very true! It takes a lot of work to match all the coupons to the sale AND then go back to link all the ecoupons just so us readers can benefit. Thank you so much for your hard work!

And I like hearing about a good deal whether the sale is still on or not! So please, keep posting. :)

Is anyone else having trouble printing the Honest Tea coupons? It says my browswer won't accept cookies, but it DOES. Weird.

Anyway, ZM, you're amazing. It's obvious that your blog is a personal "see what I got!" type of blog. When we can get the same deals, it's a bonus, but to get upset when we're too late is just rediculous. Don't let those comments bother you. Thanks as always for posting! I'm out of paper plates so I know where I'm going today!! :D

I just noticed I posted the heads up the Dan i ninos on 7/14 and that was before the sale even broke, so I apologize to those that missed that post here: http://katycouponers.blogspot.com/2010/07/gearing-up-for-kroger.html

Thank you to those with kind words and I apologize for my "snappy" attitude last night. I maintain this blog as an aide to your shopping, not as a bragfest and I apologize if some don't view it as that. I try to post my deals the same day I do the shopping(which sometimes is the last day of a sale), but sometimes, given my schedule, that just doesn't happen.

Stephanie, I did not post that comment as a attack on you. If you took it that way Im sorry. The majority of coupons bloggers where you get your deals from also have a family and get paid nothing. Couponing is giving and sharing
without looking for anything in return. How would you feel if the sites you get your deals on only posted the deals after the sale is over with or the coupons has expired. Thank you and you have a nice day TOO!!!

ZM - I want to thank u for posting all the great deals that u do. With a full time job & kids, I know it is not at all easy.
Like one of the above posters asked - Where in the store do you find the 3M foam mounting squares?

ZM,

Thanks for the Kroger posts. I did my Kroger run today because I wanted to get the $5 cat for purchasing 5 Kraft cheese products. If you buy more than 5 pkgs you will only get 1 cat for $5. You will need to split your order if you want to purchase 10 cheeses to receive 2 - $5 cats. I hope this information helps save others a trip to customer service.

Thanks again for the post and the links. I got over $100 worth of groceries for around $23 and received 2- $5 cats for my Kraft cheese purchases.

Have a Great week and ignore Anonymous...they haven't got a clue and no one with sense feels the way they do.

anon---- she DID post where the deal was happening and gave us plenty of advance notice. Just b/c you ignored that actual post and missed out doesn't mean you need to get your panties in a wad. I'm guessing panties and not boxers?!
Anyways.... How why do you keep saying she is getting her info from other blogs? If you are off on the other blogs and you like them better, why don't you just stay there? Stephanie works her ass off shopping deals, working a full time job and being a mom and wife which is a full time gig in itself. We should all be happy she shares deals with us period, even if it means last minute and only 3hrs to run to the store and do it ourselves.

Wow-we! It's getting heated! Blogging takes so much time, thanks for what you do post & whenever you post!

Just wanted to ask if your $3 off beef wyb Bolner's beeped? I got a steak for a little under $3 & a packet for 79¢, coupon beeped. Cashier wanted to adjust the coupon down to the meat price but I argued (politely) that it was for both items and the manager agreed, cashier pushed it through.

Mentos Gum Bottles are 50¢ after promo, use 55¢ coupon from 04/25 & get paid 5¢ to take them home!

A&W & Dr. Pepper Dessert Toppers are $2.99 (non-promo), earn a $2.50CAT for each one purchased thru 08/15. Buy 2 & use the $1/2 06/13 SS (exp. 08/08), pay $4.98 & earn (2) $2.50 CATS = +2¢!

Hey Stephanie! Thanks for all your efforts.

Perhaps I'm just missing it, but where did you find the Philadelphia Cream Cheese printable. Any further direction you can provide would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
