Shop Your Way Rewards - Free MONEY

It was my day off so I have been piddling around the house, cleaning my email and reading Slickdeals.
While there I notice someone mention Shop Your Way Rewards and FREE CREDITS.  I signed up for a Shop Your Way Rewards when they first came out but I have to admit I rarely have a use for it since it is for Sears, Kmart and LandsEnd (there are NO Kmart's in Houston)
Well, imagine my surprise when I stumbled on a thread talking about random bonus credits showing up in members accounts, essentially resulting in FREE money in one of those stores for just being a member!
So I logged in and sure enough, I have $5 worth of credits (5,000) and I know I have NEVER used my card because to be honest I lost the card and my password until I dug when I read this thread, lol.

From what I have been reading the credits vary but all expire on 12/3 so if you have an account, check it!

Now to find something at Sears for $5 :D

ETA: Is it ironic that 3 minutes AFTER I did this post I got an email from Shop Your Way telling me they added $5!  Do they go alphabetical and are just that slow? lol

Cool Cuts 4 Kids Review and Giveaway

I have to admit we are terrible at getting hair cuts in this house.  My husband does his own, I just never seem to make the time and since I work full time, I have to remind the hubs about 12 times to take the girls!  But with the holidays approaching, we had to get trims.  There are Santa pictures, family pictures for cards and not to mention visits with the grandma's that will notice the lapse in personal grooming :O

Lucky for me (and especially the hubs since he is home with the gremlins), Cool Cuts 4 Kids makes hair cuts fun!  While there, your child can choose to watch a movie or to play a game while the very talented stylists (and EXTREMELY patient too) clip your kiddo's hair.  The distractions are JUST enough to get my kids to sit still long enough to get a stylish new look - or just a trim when needed.

Today was a slow day activity-wise for my homeschooling husband so it was off to Cool Cuts 4 Kids for him and the girls after lunch.  I have to admit his text to me when he got there made me feel great (since he normally texts me the breakdowns that have occurred during the day).
His text: S is playing a Star Wars game, Z is watching a movie.  No wait!  Two stylists, no line, Yeah for 1:30 pm Wed afternoon.

Yay for me, good experience for girls and hubs, gonna be a great homecoming when I get off work :D
And here is the final result:

As a bonus, you can also score a $5 coupon for any service of $11.95 or more for new customers here

And now for the giveaway offer

Cool Cuts 4 Kids is giving one lucky KatyCouponers reader a $25 gift card! Sweet!
I am allowing two entries per reader, each needs a separate comment left on the blog post here to be a valid entry.
Contest will close on Dec 5th after 5 pm.  At that time comments will be closed and a winner will be selected via Random.org. Contest only open to US addresses.

You can enter two ways, first being mandatory
1. Leave a comment about your experience taking your kids for a haircut, or just that this is gonna be your first attempt at a clip :D You can even say hi :D
2. Tweet the following: #CC4K - Enter @http://katycouponers.blogspot.com/2012/11/cool-cuts-4-kids-review-and-giveaway.html giveaway for Cool Cuts 4 Kids. Ends 12/5

Good luck!

Disclosure: Cool Cuts 4 Kids provided me a branded gift bag with store product to participate.  They will also be sponsoring the $25 gift card giveaway to one of my readers. NO other compensation was received and all opinions as always are my own.

ibotta - Money Making App for Iphone - waiting on Droid app

I have a group of coupon buds that cannot STOP talking about the ibotta app and I have to admit I am SUPER jealous of them right now.  Why?  Well, because currently this app is only available on the Iphone :( (and Ipad)
One friend has already cashed out $20!!!!

Sort of like jingit, you can easily earn FREE money on ibotta by paticipating in a poll, looking at recipes or watching a video.  You can also add the product (offer) to your account by clicking redeem. If you purchase that item at a participating retailer, you can then upload your receipt to the application and they will add the value incentive to your account.
Every action you partake in earns you cash, making it easy to earn even $1 per item.  Even better is when purchasing the item you are free to use coupons on the purchase.  WOW!
Once you have earned $5 you can cash out with paypal or donate to a school of your choosing!  Super simple right?
Participating retailers right now include
CVS, Target, Walgreens,– Kroger, Ralphs, King Snoopers + Safeway (and more!) - Randalls and Tom Thumb currently do not participate.

You get a $5 bonus after you download the ibotta app and redeem at least one successful offer (so even if you decide you hate the app - which I DOUBT, $5 FREE for very little effort!)  I have one friend that even said she was already signed up on her iphone and when she signed up her ipad(under the same account) they gave her $5 !!!!!

After you sign up, get your friends to sign up and you will score $1 in your account for each friend that signs up! Yay!

For those droids like me, they are promising to have the app extended to our platform before year end.  I will do a new post to let you all know when that happens as I am chomping at the bit to get a piece of this!

Food Town Ad - Nov 28 - Dec 4th

Food Town has about 26 locations in and around the Houston area.  Find out if you are close to one here.

Food Town does NOT double or triple coupons and it is store policy to adjust the coupon down to the value of the item.  Most locations have a posted policy that states a limit of 6 like coupons.

Heb shopping today

I had to run to HEB because I had a $10 off $30 purchase catalina from the previous P&G catalina and it expires today.  Well, I decided to see if it would also work with the $5 off $50 from Facebook (posted here) AND coupons!  My goal was to get as many free (or cheap) items as I could so the $15 worth of coupons would be used on the 2 items that were on my shopping list : bread and milk.
I think I did ok, here is how my transaction went

12 boxes of Ortega Tostada shells $1.25
-$1/2 Yellow B in store coupon (expires tonight!)
-$1 peelies (I have had these for MONTHS)
= - $3.00

3 Natures Own Honey Wheat bread $2.48 each

Bananas .78

2 Heb Nacho Chips $2 each

2 Bushs Cocina Latina beans $2.38 each
- free coupons from raok from a friend (thanks Daysi)

1 Fiesta Crushed Red Pepper $0.88

1 2 pack of Heb Filet wrapped in bacon $5.98
-$3 winetag from a raok from a reader (thanks Jamie)

2 Central Market Organic milk $4.98 each

3 Budget Saver Monster Popsicles (only pictured one) $1.98
-free homemailer coupons from filling out form on manufacturer's website(thanks Christy)

$54.74 before coupons

$8.04 oop

I was able to hand over the $5/50 first, then I gave them my $10/30 and then all my manufacturer and store coupons :D

I know many of you will not have the freebie coupons I have but I am doing this post to show a lesson.  One thing I have learned in the years I have been couponing like this is to not run out and "burn" a free coupon the day or even month I get it in the mail.  I HOLD those suckers for three reasons:
1. For transactions such as this one to get my total up to a $ amount to use another reward coupon(or earn one)
2. To save for bogo sales so I can get twice as many free :D
3.To save for a register reward or ECB deal to turn them into a money maker :D

For those of you that still have the Maruchan Yakisoba are still .50 so free with 10/14 SS coupons
The Milani makeup had a $2 coupon and items as low as $2.87

HEB -Earn $5 off a $50 purchase with Mastercard

If you are subscribed to HEB emails, you might see this offer in your inbox.  Even if you don't, you can still claim the offer, but you need to hurry to be one of the first 19,000 customers.

Once you redeem on facebook,  you will get an email from Facebook with your barcoded coupon. You just print the email and present it to your cashier along with your Mastercard.
Excludes tax, alcohol, tobacco, fuel or gift card purchases

However, it says NOTHING about not being able to combine with other offers, so I am going to see if they let me use it with the $10 off $30 Proctor and Gamble catalina that expires tomorrow :D

SweetJack Discount Code - Pretty good offers! Butterflies, the Solar System or Beef???

SweetJack has a promo code for 15% any deal on their site, good through end of the day tomorrow.

I have used SweetJack before to get an affordable emission and inspection for my car, a birthday dinner at a Brazilian Steakhouse and discount tickets to the Butterfly Center in Houston.  While they no longer offer the great inspection discount, they still have some goodies you score.

I actually just bought one for the Houston Butterfly Museum.  It cost just $12.75 for a family 4 pack when I entered coupon code THANKJACK15

And if you can see the description above, it does not expire until 11/14 of next year!  Plenty of time for me to plan a trip :D

Or, they have a similar offer for the Houston Planetarium.

One of my favorite promos is the Angus Grill Brazilian Steakhouse.  Just be careful when selecting this one, I noticed three different listings and one is just $35 for dinner for two(the others show $40???) With the code, it would cost just under $30 to have a very FILLING date night at this all you can eat Brazilian style restaurant.

If you are part of a group, invite your friends to buy one and if you can get 3 friends to buy the same deal, you get yours FREE! BONUS!

For those of you that shop at PetCareRx you can get a $30 voucher for just $15.
There are several others offers both locally and nationally.   Just be sure to enter the code THANKJACK15 before you check out

Not yet a member?  Be sure to enter ROCKTHESAVING12 when registering to get $12 to get you started.

Norton Triple Bundle - 3 user Internet Security & Utilities- free after rebates - other titles too!

It is that time of year again when it is time to renew my Internet security software.  If you have read me in prior years and done this deal, you are probably due too (I posted last on Dec 21, 2011)
My husband is a Nortons snob so I tend to pay attention to when they offer it free after rebates. I just scored mine tonight as it will be free after two mail in rebates.
You can get the Norton's Internet Security and Utilities  2013 3 user combined with the 1 User Ghost software.
You will pay $74.99 + tax and then you can mail in for two rebates.  A $50 for purchasing and a $25 for upgrade rebate(must show evidence of prior ownership of any antivirus, firewall, antispam, antispyware, utility or back up product.)  Shipping is free.  Limit 1 per household, must be purchased 11-21 or 11-29.  Must mail rebates within 30 days of purchase.

If you are not a Norton's snob, there are two other internet security softwares free after rebate, just confirm you are getting free shipping on them if you don't want to have to pick up in store.  Check out the offers here and just click the software you are interested in to check for free shipping.

All You - Just $1 an issue - TIME TO BUY

While I LOVE All You and rave about the coupons from time to time, I don't think any magazine is worth paying more than $1 for and that is stretching it(with the exception of a few school fundraisers at work, I will pay more for a magazine like All You so my coworkers kiddo can get a sale :D)

Assuming you have NO fundraiser obligations, you might want to considering snagging this Black Friday deal on All You magazine, delivered for just $1 an issue (my current issue, Dec 2012 touts $49.60 in coupons).  In store I believe it is $2.xx(only sold at Walmart) but right now you can get a 6 month subscription for just $1 an issue.  Just NOTE after that they WILL auto bill you at the going rate which is NOT $1 an issue.  SO after 6 months the will BILL YOU AT THAT HIGHER RATE UNLESS YOU CANCEL BEFORE THEN! (I don't want to misinform you so just be aware of this catch!)  I know not everyone is anal like me and reads ever fine print and is so paranoid they think their neighbor is watching them, lol  So I have included the super fine print.

*Be sure to set an alarm on your phone or email etc to cancel before the 6 months if you don't want to be billed the full amount!

The exact fine print wording: Automatic Renewal Program: You authorize each magazine title to charge your debit/credit card at the price above now and in time to renew the subscriptions listed above, without interruption, before the start of each new annual term at the low subscriber rate then in effect, for example for Real Simple, one year (12 issues) for $23.94, Cooking Light, one year (12 issues) for $18, unless you tell us to stop. You may cancel at any time during your subscription and receive a full refund on all un-mailed issues. If your credit/debit card cannot be charged, we'll bill you directly instead.

WOW! - FREE picture Address Labels delivered to your door!

And NO I don't mean the ones that arrive in your mail asking for a donation.
There is apparantly a FREE deal going on at Walgreens photo right now and I just ordered mine to verify!

So basically just go to Walgreens photo and choose address labels.  Find the design you like and enter your name and address as you would like it to appear.  Add in the picture and then add the set to your cart.
When you see the box at the bottom of the screen to enter a coupon code enter ADDFREE.  This code will make your order free and then they will ask you to pick your shipping method.  The cheapest is standard and states $4.99 but trust me, when you add your payment method and get to the final screen before you actually confirm payment you will see that zero's out too making it ALL FREE (see image below)

So for about 5 minutes of your time, you can get personalized, picture address labels 100% FREE :D

Thanks Shuriken

Buffalo Wild Wings- Close to FREE money is back!

Since having kids, the hubs and I don't go out for wings much anymore, but occasionally he does go out with the guys.  Well, in an effort to keep us on budget I am going to be taking advantage of this AWESOME deal offered by Buffalo Wild Wings!
They have an offer that if you buy gift cards between now and Dec 31, you earn a bonus "secret" value gift card.  This gift card could be as low as $5 or as high as $100!
This is where this deal gets GOOD!  In the fine print it states there is no purchase necessary to participate in this promotion.  As long as you are a resident of the US that is 18 or older and don't live in FL, NY or RI you can mail a SASE(self addressed Stamped Envelope) to obtain one of these bonus cards without purchasing a card.  So basically, you pay .88 (one to mail and the SASE inside for them to mail your card) to earn AT LEAST $5 in food! These bonus cards HAVE to be used between Jan 1 - Feb 28th 2013. Sounds like a deal to me if you are wings fan, especially if you are one of the lucky ones to get one of the $100 cards!  This offer is limited to 4 per person regardless of method of entry (notice how I said PERSON not household :D ) You must send each SASE separately though.

I got this info in email but you can read all about it here.

Just go here and enroll your eligible American Express card in the offer, and then spend $25 or more at a qualifying small business location and you will get a one time credit of $25 on your account! SWEET!
Enrollment is limited and offer is ONLY good for purchases made a participating small business on Nov 24th.  You can find all the information you need here.

Thanks for the reminder Dawn :D

Food Town Ad -> Nov 21 - 27th

*Note, last weeks ad states it is good until Nov 22, so I would think they will honor all the deals last week too, you can find those matchups here.

Food Town has about 26 locations in and around the Houston area.  Find out if you are close to one here.

If you are, you can either shop in store, or take your ad to Walmart to price match.
You can get on their home mailer list by stopping in at your store and asking at the service desk to be added to the mailing list.  Then, you should get a 2 page homemailer every week.  In this mailer is a coupon good for a deal of the week that can be combined with manufacturer coupons for added savings.

Food Town does NOT double or triple coupons and it is store policy to adjust the coupon down to the value of the item.  Most locations have a posted policy that states a limit of 6 like coupons.
