Aldi Ad - Sept 18th -24th

Some key things to know about Aldi's before you shop:
*They do not take coupons
*Bring your own bags or boxes for your groceries.  They do not have regular plastic bags but if you forget yours, you can either buy a cloth reusable bag for $1.99 or a plastic one for .10 (these are actually pretty sturdy and I imagine would last for quite some time if you don't abuse them)
*Bring a quarter with you to "rent" the cart.  You get your quarter back when you return the cart to the corral (keeps costs down if they don't have to have someone round up buggies and they pass those savings onto the customer)
*Prepare to pay with cash, debit or EBT - they do not accept any other form of payment, again as a cost saving measure

Red Grapes or Green Grapes $0.75/lb - sold in 2 lb packages

Bartlett Pears $0.85/lb - sold in 2 lb packages

Yellow Onions $0.89 per 3 lb bag

Green Cabbage $0.69 each

Friendly Farms (gal) $1.99

L'oven Fresh White Hot Dog Buns (12 oz) $0.89

Easy Home 4 piece vacuum storage bag set $4.99

Do you really think you still get good deals at Aldi's? I have not actually shopped there myself in a long time. To my knowledge canned foods are the only item you really get a good deal on anymore. Would love to hear your opinion on the store though as I've not been in there in a while.

And.... do you ever buy anything other than food at the store? I know they have bins with odds and ends for people who are buying stuff other than food.

I bought the step stool in there because it was the same exact one we have in one bathroom but half the price I have seen anywhere else. Since we are paleo we don't eat a lot of processed foods so I only go for the produce and I did buy the bagels for my husband because again, they were half the price of any I could pick up at the grocery stores. Sometimes I buy the produce there more often I just price match it at Walmart though.
