Honey Kix Giveaway

I am so excited about this giveaway! I have some regular Kix that my kids LOVE and I was given the opportunity to try the Honey Kix for free. My kiddos could not wait until morning to sample this new cereal. Well, when I asked Zoey her thoughts she had one word for me "Yummy" I asked if that was all she had to say and she said "Yummy" again, so there you go. When I asked my youngest her thoughts, she had her mouth too full of cereal to respond so I guess I can say this cereal definitely passed the kid test. I just spent some time comparing the nutrition content to Honey Nut Cheerios and found it to be very close in content so it passes the mommy test here! I even snuck a couple bites when my kiddos were not looking and I agree, this is a great tasting cereal and so easy to feed the kiddos on those busy school mornings.

Well, 3 lucky readers are going to win a Honey Kix gift pack that includes a coupon for a free box of Honey Kix, a honey jar, a set of colorful cereal bowls, a container to take your cereal and milk on-the-go, and a great container to keep cereal fresh at home. Just leave me a comment on what you do to get your kiddos or yourself off to a great start in the morning. You know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I would love to hear how others handle mornings.
Good luck on the giveaway. I will select(with the help of random.org) and announce 3 winners on Tuesday morning at 8 am. Winners will have 24 hours to provide me their contact information or they forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be chosen.

I love to wake up a little early and make them a hot breakfast. They love homemade banana pancakes. They also love cold cereal on the days I don't wake up in time to cook, and would eat it all day if they could!

I get up an hour earlier than they do so I can have ME time. I have my coffee and cereal that way I can dedicate all my time to them and make sure that they have breakfast. It even gives us time to sit and chit chat about how are day is going to be.

WE start the day off slow and relaxed in our house. First cereal, then cream cheese on toast. Then we cuddle on the sofa whilst I have my tea and toast. Very relaxed and a perfect chance for quality time with my little ones.

We talk about our mornning routine at the dinner table the night before. That way there are no surprise projects, notes, clothes issues in the mornings.
My boys are old enough to get there own breakfast but I have to make sure there are enough choices. And that the milk is thawed!!!!

My kids usually eat breakfast at our babysitter's house but on the weekends, we make eggs or omelets for them every morning.

I get to have breakfast with my 6 year old every morning since my 2 year old sleeps later. We like to mix it up here. Cereal, cinnamon rolls, oatmeal, pancakes, waffles. We hardly ever eat the same thing 2 days in a row for breakfast! Plus it gives us some one on one time!

I have to say being a single mom is a bit harder but I do get my 3 year old son to school and we have breakfast there every morning I stay and eat with him and all the kids love it :) My son and I are big morning people and love hot or cold breakfast :) He loves the regular and I am sure he would love the new flavor too. Thanks for the opportunity. Also I took your class back sometime in December and I loved it. Thanks!

I just grab a baggie of cereal on the go. I am a get-up-at-the-last-minute person! :)

I think breakfast is a great, simple meal to introduce kids to cooking. There are all kinds of things that can be prepared the night before, so that when they wake up, they have a freshly cooked meal that they helped to make. One of our favorites is a breakfast casserole, which lets me introduce them to some of the more "adventurous" veggies (spinach, mushrooms, etc) :)

Breakfast is exactly what the word says - break the fast - so important to eat in the morning. Without breakfast no one functions 100%!!

I don't have to be at school until around noon but I always wake up around 9. Breakfast is a must for me. I usually have cereal with organic skim or soy milk, yogurt, and a banana. I'm still working on adding more protein in! thanks for the chance to win

Our household has to start the day off so early in the morning that everyone has their breakfast in different places. I have my coffee at home and eat breakfast at work. My kids each eat breakfast at school. We found that this system works best so if anyone is running late, everyone still gets to eat breakfast. On the weekends we usually all eat together. Either myself or husband cook a hot breakfast, we all eat cereal and toast, or sometimes as a special treat, we will go out for breakfast.

It's always a mad house around here in the mornings. I try to wake up at least 15 minutes before everyone else so I can have clothes set out and ready to go. while they get dressed I get breakfast ready. Thanks for the giveaway!

It's like waking the dead at my house in the morning!! So, I try to make a big batch of pancakes/waffles over the weekend and freeze them. I just nuke them for a quick meal.

Anonymous said...

I eat breakfast on the go... but weekends are different story. The kids are always looking for something when they first wake up and they usually select cereal because they are old enough to pour it themselves. This would be a great thing for us :)

I start my day in prayer, then some days make a nice breakfast of homemade biscuits with oatmeal with fruit or with eggs and fruit. We love cereal on the other mornings sometimes with nuts, fruit. Two of our and our grandchildren's favorites are Honey Nut Cheerios and Multi Grain Cheerios, adding them to our vanilla yogurt as an added treat. My husband loves to snack on a dry cereal like Honey Kix while he is reading a book. We also occasionally have cereal at early evening instead of a heavy meal and is great to carry on trips as a convenient snack. We would love to try the Honey Kix.

I wake about 30 minutes before the first of my 4 children get up. The first one eats cinnomin toast every morning. (He will not change. 9 years now)The second eats any and everything. The next is 3 years old and loves cereal in yogurt. The fourth is still in a high chair and loves anything he he can feed himself. On TAKS testing mornings I wake up an hour early and make "Made to Order" breakfasts. A tradition I started 7 years ago.

Oh boy. Cereal! Mornings are always such a rush at my house and I am definitely not a morning person. No-one is ever gonna accuse me of being June Cleaver. You'll never find us eating bacon and eggs for breakfast.... dinner yes. A hot breakfast at my house would be a poptart or toaster waffles! Honestly, a new flavor of cereal would be a hit at my house.

To be honest, this morning I woke up to find that my husband had left the milk out on the counter the night before. I had a single serving of chocolate milk from McD's the other night and picked a chocolatey cereal for the boys this morning. I figured that it ends up chocolate milk anyway when you pour milk over Cocoa Krispies. That's not a typical breakfast, but we all have to make due!

I make sure we eat breakfast together, usually oatmeal or cereal!

My family is not real big on mornings, but to help us kick start our day. We usually will have a nice quiet breakfast, consisting of cereals and juice. Then after my son and husband are out the door its off to reading blogs while the other kiddos watch noggin.

Our morning starts with a house full of singing. My hubby sings silly songs- even to my teenager- to get them up and laughing. We all have breakfast together so that we start the morning off with a strong family bond. Breakfast foods vary from day to day but can include hot and cold cereal, waffles, pancakes, eggs, (my middle son loves omelets)and occasionally sausage biscuits. I like to change it up so they don't get bored. Sending them to school with half a meal in their bellies does not make this mother feel good! Oh- my omelet lover is also a honey lover! He in particular would go wild over this new cereal!

First thing in the morning, I greet my son with a silly song and dance. My hair is usually still a mess from having just rolled out of bed. My son will clap and dance along with me and if my hair is too orderly, he'll reach over and muss up my hair! He's pretty jazzed by the time we sit down for breakfast. We pray together and then turn on some "mood music" and chow down on a hot breakfast of oatmeal & raisins or eggs.

I always wake my kids up at least 1.5 hours before they have to leave for school so they have plenty of time to get ready as they are pretty slow waking up. I always make sure they have a good breakfast before out the door on the bus. This would be fantastic to win as it sounds delicious! Thank you for a great giveaway!

With three kiddos the baby (10 mo.) wakes me up first. I try to get him started then my oldest (3) wakes up. So I start on hers. Then my middle child (2) wakes up so it's his turn. After going through breakfast and getting dressed we head out the door to take my oldest to preschool or to go find a good deal. At that point I realize I forgot to eat my own breakfast.

We're pretty rushed, but make sure they always have breakfast. Usually cereal or a breakfast bar. Sort of funny how much quicker it is when I'm on my own vs. when hubby's around to help. For some reason we're always later when he's helping. LOL

I usually get up at 5:30, and we are all out the door by 7:30. I like to make sure I am up, dressed, contacts, hair, and a little makeup before my kids get up. Also, they all three have their morning routines down pat so everyting works like clockwork in the morning.

Thanks for the give away!

To get us out on time, I tell my son he has to be COMPLETELY dressed (shoes, belt, shirt tucked in) before breakfast is served. Before getting out of the car I always remind him that only he can decide if he will have a "grandiose" day. He always agrees, we say our I Love You's, kiss, hug, then wave. Sounds like a lot, but we have it down to about 30 seconds. He's the best kid & I remind him each day what a joy he is! I love my Zion the lion!

Mornings were very rushed with everyone trying to get out the door to catch the school bus or not be late for work. Rather than fighting with the kids to eat a healthy breakfast, I now make them really nutritious milkshakes with milk, protein or carnation instant breakfast & some fruit (usually a banana or blue berries). They love "drinking" their breakfast & it's really quick, easy & very little clean-up! Works for us!

We prepare the night before so the mornings are not a frantic rat race~
Who am I kidding?

They are still a rat race, but not half as bad as they would have been *IF* we would not have set up the coffee pot, laid out the clothes, prepared lunches the night before, and all that jazz! hahha
PS I love cereal and could live on it, well that and oatmeal with a few Veggies thrown in for good measure!

We fix lots of fresh fruits at breakfast time! We try to always have on hand fruits in season - right now we have apples, bananas, tangelos, oranges, strawberries and blueberries all in the house. Starting with something fresh gives them a great start to the day. Then, we can often add pancakes, eggs, waffles, cereal or other item when the fruit is finished up for the morning to help fill them up a bit more. :)

Love your blog!

I have 3 girls 10, 6 and 3. I stager there wake up times so I can spend a little one on one time with each of them. Our breakfasts are simple, we rotate cereals, pancakes, and waffles. I think its great to have that one on one cozy time in the am, even its just for a short while.

My kids are now telling me that they want to try these. Wow they are not much of the cereal type. Hummm

Kimberly said...

Well, we have three kiddos, too. A 5yr old, 3yr old, and 7 mth old. Mornings are tough because inevitably someone wakes up on the good side of the bed....and someone wakes up on the bad side of the bed. Hardly ever does everyone find the good side to wake up on! We are dry cereal eaters in the AM -- but have found the girls are pretty picky. Hoping to try this cereal out! :)

I love cereal. I could eat it for every meal and be happy, but my kids don't enjoy it as much as I do. One of the best breakfasts I've found that makes them (and Daddy!) happy and works on those busy mornings is breakfast burritos. I brown sausage and stir in some eggs and then spoon that and some cheddar into steamed tortillas. Wrap them up tightly in foil and place in the fridge. When you get up in the morning, get out as many as you need and put them in the oven on a low temp and by the time everyone's dressed, breakfast is hot and ready!

My husband and I usually are in a hurry to get to work of a morning, so cereal is an ideal breakfast food. However, once or twice a week I try to make the effort to get an early start on the day in order to make us a tasty omelet. I really love a hot breakfast...my day seems to go better.

Ahhh...Kix! One of the few cereals my non-food loving 3yo will actually eat, lol.

As for mornings, waffles are his favorite, ceral is usually dry & served as a snack. Most mornings find us parked at the table, him eating waffles while I feed his brother some form of baby cereal or fruit.

I love to make her fresh oatmeal and add some brown sugar! she loves it. add that with some turkey bacon and toast and she is off to a great start! on days when we are in a hurry its cereal! and she loves that too of course!

I have 3 girls, ages 10,6 and 3. I stagger their wake up times so I can spend a little time with each of them as they eat their breakfast. We keep it simple, cereal, pancakes or waffles. The morning starts out better when they each have a little time to wake slowly and eat a good breakfast and have a little mommy time.

Tracy said...

Lately with the cooler weather, my 16 month old daughter and I have been having oatmeal with diced peaches. When it is warmer, we have yogurt, a banana and Kix to start the day. The Kix is easier for her to pick up and she loves them.

Bug said...

We usually have a combination of different cereals in one bowl. We choose a "healthy" cereal like cheerios or wheat flakes, add in some homemade granola, (this makes it filling to last us to lunch), and then they are allowed to add a small amount of "sugary" cereal. It seems to satisfy us and of course it's quick!
