Free toddler wipes and Cheap canned chicken

Right now at Kroger this 42 count of Kroger Comforts toddler wipes is on sale for $1. There are also $1 peelies sprouting up around town making the wipes FREE!

I had a wonderful trader on HCW send me some Sweet Sue .75 any poultry product coupons for a trade to be determined in the future. Lucky for me HEB has the 5 oz cans of Chunk White Chicken for .99 so after coupon only .24 a can! Also, thanks to a tip from my good friend Erin, I found out the Demets Sugar Free Turtles are sold for $1.66 at HEB and I had some $1.50 any 3 oz or larger coupons(these bags are 3.25 oz). So for just .16 a bag. My mom will sell these at cost to a friend of hers that is diabetic so I will recoup my .16, lol. I also bought 4 bananas but 2 did not make it into the picture as they ended up in my ravenous kiddos bellies. I spent $7.08 on these 31 items and will get back $1.60 for the candy.

Kroger deal yesterday

I made a stop into Kroger hoping that they would pay me to buy my Pillsbury, lol. Well I found out the catalina promotions dates had been changed so spent .49 today :(
3 Purina One dog food $1.39 - free coupons(these will be going to my mom's dogs)
3 Tennessee Pride sausage gravy $1 - $1 coupons = free
3 Johnson Buddies bars $1.09 - $1 = .09 each(my sister's kiddos love these)
2 Pillsbury cinnamon rolls $1 - .30 tripled = .10 each
3 Pillsbury Crescent rolls $1 - .35 tripled = free
I think I will use up the rest of my Crescent roll coupons that expire on 2-28 and save the rest for the catalina deal. Read all about the catalina here.

FAT TUESDAY, FREE FOOD!

Please join IHOP in celebrating National Pancake Day on Tuesday February 24th. From 7 am-10 pm each person in your party can receive a short stack(three) of buttermilk pancakes. IHOP has been doing this every year to support local childrens charities. They hope you will consider making a donation. I know last year for us it was the Shriners Hospital that donations went to. This year it looks like they are billing it as your local Children's hospital or Children's Miracle Network Charity so it may vary by region which charity is getting the donation.
Also, remember your waitstaff. Even though the food is essentially free, you need to consider the tip based on retail value. Your waitstaff only makes half of minimum wage, so PLEASE do not forget to THANK them with a monetary gift.
To find an IHOP near you, please click HERE!
IF that is NOT enough FREE food for you, head on over to Jack in the BOX! For one day only, you can print a Jack In the Box coupon for 2 free tacos. Coupon is good from 12 am - 11:59 pm on Tuesday February 24th. Valid at particpating restaurants only. Must print coupon to receive offer. One coupon per guest per visit.

Short stop at CVS

Nothing spectacular to report today. I was out of town for the weekend and we came back to mud in our water lines thanks to our MUD district. Not only that, my oldest kiddo got sick so I had to stay home today with her. Did make a short run to CVS as we were out of milk. Since I have ECBS and free gift cards from all those prescriptions, I chose CVS. I also noticed the Nabisco Ritz, Wheat Thins and Triscuits are on sale b1g1 free this week so if you won the coupons from the Kraft game I posted about last month, now would be a good time to use the Nabisco cracker one to get 2 free with 1 coupon. So today's shopping
2 milks @ 3.49 each
2 Ritz $3.99 - free coupon = free
Used a $5.98 ecbs and $1 off my gift card.

Cheap Pringles at Walgreens

I got an email from a friend telling me the Pringles were being clearanced out for .45 each at Walgreens. Since I had to get my oil changed near Walgreens anyway, I decided to stop by. I found a ton of Pringles and they keep bringing more out as I shopped. I ended up picking up 15 cans of Pringles and used my .30/3 coupons to get them for .35 a piece. Also, while I was there, I found Hoodia Sure Rapid Gel 40 count on clearance for $6.29. I got these because in the February EasySaver catalog, rebate #9 offers a $10 rebate thus making this a moneymaker.
So my total oop today(on gift card) was $ 11.54. I should get back the $10 rebate plus 10% for adding to gift card so $11 back for a total cost today of only $0.54 for my 15 cans of Pringles.
I have to say DH was happy that I found a deal on chips, lol.

Honey Kix Giveaway

I am so excited about this giveaway! I have some regular Kix that my kids LOVE and I was given the opportunity to try the Honey Kix for free. My kiddos could not wait until morning to sample this new cereal. Well, when I asked Zoey her thoughts she had one word for me "Yummy" I asked if that was all she had to say and she said "Yummy" again, so there you go. When I asked my youngest her thoughts, she had her mouth too full of cereal to respond so I guess I can say this cereal definitely passed the kid test. I just spent some time comparing the nutrition content to Honey Nut Cheerios and found it to be very close in content so it passes the mommy test here! I even snuck a couple bites when my kiddos were not looking and I agree, this is a great tasting cereal and so easy to feed the kiddos on those busy school mornings.

Well, 3 lucky readers are going to win a Honey Kix gift pack that includes a coupon for a free box of Honey Kix, a honey jar, a set of colorful cereal bowls, a container to take your cereal and milk on-the-go, and a great container to keep cereal fresh at home. Just leave me a comment on what you do to get your kiddos or yourself off to a great start in the morning. You know, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I would love to hear how others handle mornings.
Good luck on the giveaway. I will select(with the help of random.org) and announce 3 winners on Tuesday morning at 8 am. Winners will have 24 hours to provide me their contact information or they forfeit their prize and an alternate winner will be chosen.

Kroger Saturday run

After the class on Saturday I hit up Kroger and decided to do the Daytona deal again. I got
3 Totinos pizza rolls $1.25 - 3 .35/1 tripled insert coupon - .90 for Daytona deal = -.30 each
5 Bc Fruit snacks $1.79 - 3 .50 doubled insert coupon - 1 .50/2 doubled insert coupon - 1.50 for Daytona deal = $3.45
2 Pillsbury Grands $1.27 - 2 .25 tripled insert coupon - .60 for Daytona deal = .44
3 Bic Comfort 2 razors clearanced for $2.24 - $2 insert coupon = .72
3 Johnson Buddy bars $1.09 - $1 insert coupon = .27
1 Blue Bell ice cream(not pictured) $2.99 - 1 printable from bb website = $1.99
I also used a $3.50 catalina I had from buying the BC snacks before. Total was $2.67
(it took off negative tax because of the $3.50 catalina)
BUT the catalina machine was supposed to give me another $3.50 oynso catalina for the fruit snacks and a $3/3 Johnson products coupon. The catalina machine was not working so I sent Erin to the service desk(yes, she went with me to help me get this next order since she preordered it for me) to get my $3.50 while I rang my next transaction.

23 Fast fixins chicken for $1 each with raincheck - $1 tearpad coupon = FREE
1 Blue Bell ice cream $2.99 - $1 printable from Blue Bell = $1.99 BUT the cashier entered the chicken on price override wrong and the manager had to come over and manually enter 19 of my Fast Fixins coupons AND he entered them as taxable.
My transaction actually went negative so he just zeroed it out and I paid NOTHING!

As if that was not cool enough, Erin was fininshed at the service desk just about the same time and came over and handed me $6.50 in CASH from my first transaction so.............

Paid $2.67 + $0 and got back $6.50 = I was PAID $3.83 to "buy" ALL these items!!!!! I think I am going to go shopping with Erin more often, lol.

Also ran into one of our class participants shopping and getting in on the good deals. Hello! Unfortunately I did not catch your name and I need you to contact me. I am interested in your business and would like to hear more. Please email me.

Even "extreme" couponers have a bad day

I went to 4 stores today and all I have to show for it is this one bottle of Windex. Sometimes the stores just do not have the items I go in for and today was one of those days for most stores I visited. Luckily, the stores are on my commute to and from work.
Alright, about the Windex:
Windex is on sale for $2.50 at Walgreens and I had a .55 tearpad coupon. In addition there is a Easy Saver rebate for $1 and in the 1-11 SS there is a try me free rebate. So, if the rebate pays correctly, the math goes as follows
Paid $2.11 after tax and earn $1.10 from Walgreens and $2.50 from manufacturer rebate.
Spend .42 on stamp so $2.11 + .42 - $1.10 - $2.50 = Profit of $1.07

Free Wheat Thins at CVS

CVS has these 4 oz boxes of Wheat Thins on sale for $1 each. We received $2/2 coupons for Wheat Thins, Ritz and Triscuits in our 1-25 SS inserts. There is no size restriction on the coupons, so free Wheat Thins(my store was out of Ritz). My daughter wouldn't let go of one of the boxes for the picture, lol.

Denny's Free Grand Slam Offer

I swung by the Denny's near my office at lunch and they were PACKED! There was no way I was going to be able to wait for a table and have time to eat, so I asked about a raincheck and much to my pleasure, they asked me how many I needed. So pictured is my 5 rainchecks(my niece is staying with us this week) and 1 coupon book. I plan on going to the Denny's website and letting corporate know how WONDERFUL and polite all the employees were when I stopped in. It was a ZOO but the staff was very professional and smiling! The rainchecks are good until February 13, valid Monday-Friday ANYTIME. Looks like we are having grand slams for dinner one night this week. I hope others were able to take advantage of this wonderful promotion Denny's put on.

Walgreens money maker!

Today I ventured to Walgreens to pick up some Triaminic kids meds. They are on sale for 2 for $10. There is a $1.50 printable at http://www.triaminic.com/ . In addition there is a Wags coupon for $1 off each from the coloring book they have on sale(coupon code 5856). If you use these coupons that brings your cost down to $5 and then in the February Easy Saver book is a rebate for $6/2 Triaminic (rebate #12 10% bonus if you put it on a Walgreens gift card) and THAT is what turns it into a money maker.
I got the Garnier as well as a freebate $3.99 - $1 coupon = earns $3.99 back +10% and the Diet DP because I am an addict, lol and I had a $10 RR to burn today.
Total oop $1.48 off my gift card (+$10 RR) and earns back ($6+3.99) *10% = 10.99
(My total oop should have been .48 but the coloring book coupon only took off for the bubble gum Triaminic and I didn't realize this until I already left the store). So my total cost should have been -.51 but was actually .49.
I guess I can still live with that! Thanks to lauren79giraffe at HCW for the Triaminic deal.
