Houston Chronicle Sunday Section A coupons

If you still have your Houton Sunday paper, there are two good coupons buried in the A section.
On page A20 is a $1 off any Tyson Fresh chicken product coupon. These go on sale regular as bogo at Kroger, so a very good coupon to hold onto.
On page A25 is a Kroger advertisement, with a $25 gift card offer with any Transferred prescription. If you were needing a refill anyway, some Walgreens and CVS will take competitor coupons to keep your business. That makes this a FREE $25 if you are getting a prescription anyway.
Thanks to greeny for the heads up on these two hidden Houston Chronicle coupons!

Children's Place clearance sale

The Children's Place is having a pretty good clearance sale right now online. Shipping is $5 regardless of the size of your order. I also received a 20% off code in my inbox a few days ago that I was able to combine with this sale for additional savings. I was able to snag three pairs of shoes and 3 items of clothing for my girls for $27 after shipping and tax. I am happy with that considering 2 pairs of shoes using easily cost that.

Here is a picture of just one of the cute shoes they have on their site right now. Hurry over as inventory is running low on many items.

My 20% code was a one time use, but you can use this 15% code for additional savings: S2A59 - exp 6/7.

Don't forget to go through ebates, mypoints or upromise account for additional savings(ebates has 3% back currently, mypoints earns 2 points per dollar spent, 3% back through upromise)

CVS and Kroger

At CVS, there is an ECB promo on Neutrogena Sunscreen products. Purchase two and receive a $10 ECB. At some stores, there are 1 oz tubes of the Ultra Sheer for $1.99 each. If you can find a store with two of these, it is a $6.02 money maker(the trick is finding a store that carries them and then actually locating them) As you can see in the picture, they are smaller than the size of Carefree pantiliners, so they can be hard to spot. (Thanks Chau)

My transaction

2 Neutrogena sunscreen $1.99 each

4 Carefree pantiliners on clearance for .75 each - 2 $1 peelies and 1 $1 homemailer(you can find a .50 printable here-they are free at Kroger this week with this coupon doubled)

Paid with a $4 ECB adjusted down to $3.98 and got back a $10 ECB.

Good luck finding the Neutrogena and Happy Hunting.

I had not been to Kroger for a week, so I ventured over at lunch to pick up the following items:

3 Yakisoba meals $1 - .35 coupon tripled(3-8, 5-10 SS) = free
1 Dial soap $1 - .35 coupon tripled(5-17SS) = free
1 Glade aerosol $1 - .50 home mailer doubled = free
2 Glade warmers $1.99 - free coupon from Sc Johnson booklet found at Randalls = free
4 Reach toothbrushes $1 - 3 .50 coupons doubled (3-15 SS) - 1 .50 home mailer doubled = free
3 Purina kitten chow $2.09 - free coupon (4-26SS) = free
2 Propel .99 - .50 tearpad doubled = free
3 Hunt Ketchup $1 - .20 coupon tripled (5-10SS) = .40 each
1 Pedigree Naturals dog treats $4.59 - $2.50 shortcuts loadable - $2.50 coupon(4-19RP) = .41 MM
1 Huggies diapers $8.99 - $3 homemailer - $1 cellfire loadable
1 Huggies Pull ups $8.99 - $2 coupon (5-17SS) - $2 shortcuts loadable
-$3 for buying $15 in Huggies products
-$1.50 catalina from prior purchases

Paid $6.77 and will get $1.50 back for Caregiver rebate on the Huggies and earned $1.50 for college savings through Upromise.

Great dining out deal at Applebee's

My husband LOVES Applebee's but we rarely go since it is hard to find good coupons for them. Thanks to Erin's post today, my husband may just get Applebee's tonight. Check out the awesome deal listed on Erin's SuperSaver blog.

H-E-Buddy Promos

Summer is quickly approaching and HEB has started their summer reading club again. You just fill out the form listing 10 books your child has read(parents can read to the kiddos too young to read). Initial the form and mail it in. The children get a t-shirt and according to the form, cool prizes. I love this program, since they don't have a min. age requirement(I was able to enroll my one year old last year).

Also, HEB has a birthday club for kids. Sign your child up and they will receive a birthday card, a Buddy Buck(for the crane machine inside stores), 50 point sticker(to redeem for prizes), and special birthday coupons(what couponing kid doesn't want their own coupons!)

For those with the 4 legged kids, they also have a birthday club for them. Max's birthday club is designed to sign your pets up and they will receive a birthday card and special offers(sponsored by Purina)

Want to make eating fruits and veggies fun for your kids? The healthy buddy kids club lets them color in shapes for each day they eat that color fruit or vegetable. When all shapes have been colored, mail in the form and your child will receive a HEBuddy Memory game(limit one per child per year, child must be 4-11; I have not done this one, so not sure what the memory game is like!)

*Note, you have to fill out one form per child and pet, but it does not state that you can't mail each programs set of forms together.

Thank you to all my readers for your patience in my lack of posts lately. I have come down very ill and have not been shopping in days. I hope to be back full force soon and will resume posting my finds and deals.

Huggies has started a new program to earn points and a chance to win some cool gift cards.
Enjoy the Ride is the name and it costs NOTHING but a little time to sign up and enter codes. You receive codes from mailers, flyers, coupon inserts, watching online videos, taking surveys etc. So if you have a little time on your hands, you may want to check it out. Huggies Pull-Ups Super Cheap

I got a message from my friend Stefanie informing me of an awesome clearance deal on Huggies Pull-Ups at Walgreens. Walgreens is clearancing out the Cool Alert pull ups for $3.19. What is even better , is we have $2 coupons from the Sunday paper (5-17 and 4-26 SS)
Plus, there is the Caregivers Rebate that gives you back .75 per pack.
So $3.19 - $2 = $1.19 - .75 rebate = $0.44 a pack!
I bought 13 and with tax($1.28) I spent $16.75
I will get back $9.75 from the rebate so $7 for 13 packs of Pull-ups!

Walgreens - Imagine my suprise!

I stopped into Walgreens today to see what they had to offer and was very excited to find more Benadryl Itch Stopping Spray. My two kiddos are mosquito magnets and the creams wipe off so fast, that I thought these sprays were a great deal. They were clearanced at $1.59 and I had $1 off any Benadryl coupons(4-26 RP). I bought the last 9 this store had, thinking .59 was a GREAT deal for anti itch medicine. You can imagine my suprise when the cashier handed me my receipt and a $4 RR! Apparantly, Walgreens has a RR promo going that includes this Benadryl spray. If you buy $10 worth(7 of these!) you get a $4 RR oynso.
So the math for 4 is as follows:
$1.59 * 7 = $11.13
- $7 (7 $1 coupons)
= $4.13
Earns $4 RR so real cost is .13 for 7 of these!
GREAT deal. Keep in mind they have these on the regular shelf and most stores have an endcap display with these on them. The endcap is where you will find the numbers you need for this deal.
* I bought 9 because I knew nothing about this promo
Also, the Disney scrapbook stickers were clearanced for .50 and I need to work on my Disney scrapbook ,and my friend is going in December, so I grabbed a few of those!

Save $5 off $25 purchase at Walgreens Wed or Thurs

Walgreens sure does have a wonderful way of welcoming me back into couponing after my vacation. For two days, they are offering a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase online or in stores.
Please read the fine print of the coupon for exclusions.

So many Expired Coupons!

I cleaned out my binders and coupon box at the end of April and this is what my expireds look like most month ends. That stack of whole insert pages is about 6 inches tall, and the lose coupons are what came out of my binders.
You are probably asking what I do with all these coupons now that I cannot use them. Well, that is where my good friend Kim comes to the rescue! Kim told me about a local Methodist church in Katy that has adopted a military base in Germany.
Our troops overseas can use expired coupons at their Military Commissaries for up to 6 month past the expiration date. However, they have limited means of getting coupons so this is where http://www.ocpnet.org/ comes to the rescue. This is a patriotic charity run by volunteers to help get these coupons to our troops. Every little bit helps them stretch their salaries even further.
On the ocp website, you can even see the total $ amounts donated by individuals and organizations. If you do not want to foot the cost of mailing these out yourself, consider looking for a local organization that you can give your expireds to!
Holy Covenant Methodist Church is the one I contribute to and they clip and categorize the coupons: food - nonfood - pet food - cleaning supplies and total the value of the coupons they send over.
My friend Kim informed me they used to have donations of about $3000/month, but with my most recent contributions, that has increased to $11,ooo! That is alot of savings potential for the families of the brave men and women fighting to maintain our freedom.

Still living inside Randalls

I thought I was just about done with Randalls but NO! My coupon friend had to give me $2 Precious peelies(Thanks again Maya) that she was not using, so off to Randalls I went yet again! This was done in two transactions:

Trans #1 : 2 Ozarka Water $1.99 each - $1/2 catalina
2 Ziploc bags $3.29 each - 2 .40/2 insert coupons (one doubled)
2 Electrasol $3.99 each(this store had the old packages, but same upc as the new finish)- $2.50 coupons
2 Precious string cheese $3.49 each - $2 peelies good on any 6 oz+
2 Mr Clean magic erasers $3 each - bogo coupon from todays paper(it took off $3.49?)
20% discount - 4.30
Paid .03 oop
Also used a $10 LW catalina and 2 $1.25 catalinas and earned back $10 Lw, $2 for water and $1.25 for Ziploc

Trans #2 :
2 Ozarka Water $1.99 each - $1/2 peelie
2 Ziploc bags $3.29 each - 1/2 insert coupon
1 Electrasol $3.99 each(this store had the old packages, but same upc as the new finish)- $2.50 coupons

20% discount - 4.26
Paid .02 oop
Also used a $10 Lw catalina and $3 catalina from Pillsbury and earned back $10 LW, $2 for water and $1.25 for Ziploc

So final for this run:
Cost: $10 +$1.25 + $1.25 + .03 + $10 + $2 +.02 = 24.55
Earned: $10 + $2 + $1.25 + $10 + $2 + $1.25 = 26.50
so $1.95 money maker to get my kids string cheese!
The water will go to my sister since she is in a hurricane area too and does not coupon (GASP!)

Even better: Each package of the cheese has 3 coupons in them for more cheese purchases. There is a $3/2 inside the packages for the size that is part of the Living Well promo, so you can keep getting more cheap cheese.

I have included a picture of my receipt so you can see each one shows 100% savings, WHOOP!
To get a better look, you can just click on the picture and it should enlarge it for you. Notice each has 2 10% off lines, hence the 20% savings! I am sure gonna miss it when it is gone.
