Way Off Topic - No deals posted here! And don't BLINK

I don't do this very often and even less now that I don't get a chance to post nearly as often.

But I gotta tell you that Elf on the Shelf creeps me out beyond belief.  Have any of you seen the original Poltergeist movie?  If you have, you remember that creepy clown in the boy's room?  That is the image I have every time I see one of those creepy shelf elves!

Well The Bloggess has the BEST picture ever and the best analogy EVER for how I feel about that stinkin elf.  Only those who have seen the episode from Doctor Who will get this (seriously my husband watches this show but I do not. I watched this single episode and I think I might have nightmares for years, especially in gardens!)  I will burn any Elf on the Shelf that ends up in my house, and make sure to NOT blink while I do so!

Photo and Dr Who reference 100% stolen from The Bloggess (funny as heck and very R rated :P)
*We have Netflix so can stream Doctor Who free, but for those who don't (and for those who do that want to use search) Look for Doctor Who Season 3 Episode 11 "Blink"

Don't understand my lingo? Go here.

I totally agree with you. I think the idea of a doll watching everything you do is a little creepy. BLINK was the first episode I watched, scary, but you should give the other episodes a chance. I was skeptical too, but now I love Dr. Who.

For those who liked "Blink" - the episode was so popular that the Doctor Who writers brought the weeping angels back in subsequent seasons. But if they were too creepy for you the first time around, let me just warn you that, of course, they tried to up the creepiness factor of the first appearance!

Thanks for the warning Glenn, my husband has been streaming all the Dr Who. I get creeped out far to easily. I blame my sisters for sneaking me into the theatres at age 9 for Nightmare on Elm Street. I have not gotten a good nights sleep since!
