Wow! The P&G coupon coming out this weekend has a $3 off any size Iams cat or dog food coupon. Target sells trial size bags for $3 so FREE after insert!
The bags at my Target showed there is a $3 coupon inside too. The coupon inside the cat food is for a 5.5 lb bag or larger and is good through end of September!

I have got to tell you I personally LOVE Tilex Mold and Mildew. I have an older house with white tiles in my bath that just do not come clean with most cleaners. Tilex Mold and Mildew has honestly worked the best for me so I was super excited when I was informed they had a $2 off IP on their facebook page!
I am also excited to say they are currently on sale for $3.50 each at HEB. With the $2 coupon that makes them the cheapest I have seen in a LONG time (I was just about to buy some more too! yay) Bonus, the coupons still print with the OLD barcode too so you should be able to still use them at HEB. YIPPEE!

Hello Cheap Pickle Chips!

I have to give credit to my readers on facebook for this find. I was attempting to do my HEB post at work today after being gone for 3 days and lets just say I forgot to post actual coupon matchups, lol! Well, that is ok because I am going to add to that post and modify it and then I will repost so everything is in one place for you readers.
But, I just gotta say this is a HOT deal on pickles. I LOVE pickles! My family HATES pickles. When we order from Chick Fil A, I have extra pickles, they have none! So I have to admit I do NOT buy pickles :( They are expensive and since I am the only one that eats them, I don't get pickles.
BUT HEB LOVES me and is going to give me 16 oz jars of pickle bliss for just .25 each after my 1-22 SS insert and their sale price, YAY!

Now, for all the rest of you look for my revised HEB post hopefully later tonight, but for those of you still reading this nonsense, I have a little contest for you. The first person that can tell me what made me giggle about this coupon, will win a $5 gift card to a select store of their choice(select as in it has to be on my drive to the post office on Friday- Kroger(grrr), HEB, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens).

Cvs Run Today - done until next week

I apologize for not posting a matchup post for CVS or Walgreens this past week. I am trying to get more on a blogging schedule to actually remind myself to post matchups and such regularly but I am such a sporadic shopper. When I wake up in the morning, I might THINK I am going to HEB, but if I get a text or email from a buddy, or read a hot deal on a forum, my schedule changes instantly!
Anyway, that is quite fair to you guys so I will attempt to at least do better telling you what is on my list for the week. As I have stated in the past, I will not do matchups for EVERYTHING in the ad for chain stores like Walgreens and CVS because to be honest, there are tons of bloggers out there that make this their full time gig and run circles around me trying to compete, lol!

So anyway, on to my shopping trip. I had not really done any of the deals this week, actually today is the first day I have been to CVS all week. I HAD to go to get my Kotex MM I posted about here.

Well, while I was there, I could not pass up the money maker deal on Revlon tools. Buy 2 get $7 in ecbs. The emery boards pictured were $3.39 at my store. I used a $1 insert from 1-15 SS making them cost $4.78 but getting back $7, so a $2.22 profit.

I also read on SD about the Neosporin Eczema anti inch cream ringing up $8.49 and triggering a $5 ECB.
We have $3 insert coupons from 1-22 SS or a $3 IP here, making it just .49 after ecb.

And I am not sure where I read this, but a blog mentioned the Carmex Healing lotions can be found at some CVS stores for .99. We have $1 off any size coupons that expire 1-31 from the 10-30 RP. I found them at a CVS on my way home from Staples and the manager told me to take all I wanted(thanks Jon :D) These are perfect size for my kids rooms and for stocking stuffers for next year.

So overall my trip costs:
1.50 profit Kotex
$2.22 profit on Revlon
.49 cost on Neosporin
Break even on Carmex

A positive shopping tally of $3.23 :D

Kroger Deals Jan 25th - 31st

Kroger is having a mega deal that starts tomorrow for the Tx/La region.
Please keep in mind, except for Bryan/College Station, Kroger no longer doubles coupons, so these matchups are assuming NO doubles. I am hoping to try price matching some of these offers at Walmart as I have heard of many successful at doing so.

Robitussin - Possible Small Money Maker at Walmart

I have to admit I have not been printing these Robitussin coupons because I have had no luck finding the To Go Robitussin that most seem to be finding. I honestly was beginning to think the Walmarts in Houston didn't carry this size, but I must just not be going to the right store. It seems my coupon bud Erin has no problems finding them at her local store in Katy, so I am printing this again and adding it to my coupon purse in hopes of finding these.
Each coupon you print, should net $1 overage that you can then use on the remainder of your shopping trip :D

March 10th Coupon Class Sign Up, Now LIVE!

I know many people have inquired about another coupon class and finally my co-teacher and I sat down and found a date that will work for both of us. March 10th we will hold two coupon seminars for beginners. The first session will run from 9 am - 11:30 am, the second will go from 1:30 - 4 pm. There is a great deal of ground to go over in these sessions, so please do not plan on bringing children. Also in the past we have gone slightly over on time so as to answer all questions, so please be aware of that when coordinating your babysitting options.

A little about ourselves:

I have been "extreme" couponing before it was cool and before anyone else seemed to call it extreme couponing, going on 8 1/2 years. Courtney has been couponing like this for 4 years and she certainly keeps up with me (and sometimes runs circles around me!)

The cost of the class is $20 per person. This cost covers our expenses in renting the venue as well as the class handouts and the coupons and door prizes to be given away. In this group you will be welcome to ask questions, share deals and swap coupons with fellow couponers in your area of town.

HEB Fruit Snacks Review and Giveaway

Recently, I got the opportunity to do a taste test of the HEB Fruit twists versus the leading brand name fruit snacks.
As you know, I have a 5 and a 7 year old. We used Girls night as the opportunity to sample the array and decide which I wouldn't mind giving to my kids.
The first on the taste test failed my mommy test:

Just opening the package of Fruit Gushers, my little one was covered in gooey juicy syrupy goo (and this was with help from mommy!) Looking at the ingredients, I was excited to see a fruit concentrate first, but the other ingredients to follow pretty much take that excitement away quickly:
Pears from concentrate, SUGAR, dried CORN SYRUP, CORN SYRUP, modified corn starch, FRUCTOSE, grape juice from concentrate.
I don't know about you, but that list reads: a little juice, sugar, sugar, sugar, a stabilizer, sugar, a little more juice. WOW! I thought fruit already had enough natural sugars in it, why would you need to add even more?
On to box #2 Kelloggs Disney Fairies. I have to admit the presentation of these was a hit given my girls are all about fairies right now, but the very first ingredient is CORN SYRUP. Right on the front of the box:

Made with real fruit YES, it is ingredient #3, right after the CORN STARCH and SUGAR. YIKES

#3 Welch's Fruit snacks, these do have fruit listed as the first ingredient, but again second and third ingredient is CORN SYRUP and SUGAR!

Finally, on to the HEB Fruit Twists. I was given one box of each flavor they offer: Strawberry, Wild Berry, and Grape. All have very similar ingredients, except for a few variations due to flavoring:
Concentrated apple Puree (contains ascorbic acid) and apple juice concentrate
strawberry juice/mixed berry/grape juice concentrate (depending on the flavor)
natural flavor
natural color
pectin
glazing agent

That is IT! One of the things I love too is that they are little twists (2 to a package). I prefer these kind of snacks because they are easier to handle for little hands. There are not all these little pieces that my little ones might drop between the seats in the car.

Zoey: The sticks are a little sticky but you can eat them straight from the wrapper. The strawberry taste like strawberries without the seeds.
Sara: I like the grape, can I have another pack?

As a parent, I definitely will choose the HEB snacks over the other varieties. I love that these do not contain any added sugars unlike the other leading brands.

KeepTrack Pro lets you keep track of any details you wish over time. You can keep track of your weight, the medication you are taking, or even the value of coupons you use daily (hint hint Susan!) I think this a great app for any couponer or anyone working a budget. Keep track of the money you use daily, the cost you pay for diapers or formula, the value of coupon savings you have daily etc! The list is endless and a wonderful at your fingers tool to know if you are truly saving over time.

I was a little excited when I saw the Staples ad today since there are several freebies. When, even better that when viewing the online ad, I noticed they are offering up 25% back in Rewards (with coupon) on all items storewide(in store purchases only). Since just about all rebate offers do not give you back the tax spent, this 25% rewards back will more than cover that for a pretty decent return on purchase.

Now, how are Staples Rewards different from Staples rebates? Well, rebates are just that, you pay now, submit your information(I love that you can do this online at Staples, so you don't even waste a stamp) and you have a few options for payment back. You can get a gift card or a check. I always pick the check because then to me it is 100% free since I will get my money back to use anywhere I choose!

Staples Rewards, you need to sign up for their free card either here or in store. Once you've signed up you'll earn 10% back in Staples Rewards on all ink and toner, case and ream paper and Copy & Print purchases. You can also earn rewards back on select items advertised in their weekly ads. This week that is the storage bins and the Avery 3 ring binders. With Staples REWARDS, if you use coupons you will receive the reward value LESS the value of the coupon, hence the reason I broke my transaction up. If I had combined them, I would not have earned the extra $5 from using the coupon.
Also, Staples REWARDS are certificates you will receive in the mail to be used only at Staples on future purchases AND they have an expiration date. This is why I only do them on the items I really need or want.

Better than Free Feline Pine Cat litter

I have one outdoor cat that I have to bring in when it is way too hot or way to cold outside and I use Feline Pine for her box because she tracks regular litter EVERYWHERE! Imagine my excitement to find I can get a box (9 or 14lb) for free after rebate.
Bonus: There is a $1.50 IP here for printing. I am hoping Petsmart carries this size because I love saving the free after rebate items for when they put out the $5/25 coupons. These free after rebates helps boost my total and at the same time, give me $5 instantly off my pet food(with the $5/25).

HEB - Some Pretty Good "B" coupons and a few deals

To remind everyone, or to alert the new readers, I LOVE the little Yellow Coupons HEB puts out on products, especially when they have the magic B. If you look at the yellow coupon in the picture above, the bottom left shows a B instead of an M. According to HEB Coupon Policy you can combine a B coupon with manufacturer coupons for some awesome potential savings!

I walked around my store today looking for coupons to combine with the Box Tops deal that started today. I was super excited when I saw a display of Honey Nut Cheerios with the awesome B coupon. This cereal is currently 3 for $8 but with the B coupon, they are 3 for $5, then depending on your coupon, you could get them as low as .67 a box.
This B coupon is good for $3 off 3 of the any of the following cereal
Honey Nut Cheerios 17 oz, Lucky Charms 16 oz, Cinnamon Toast Crunch 17 oz, Dulce de Leche Cheerios or Multi Grain Cheerios Peanut Butter(these last two were priced $2.68 each before coupon). This expires 1-31-11.

Hurry Over - General Mills $1.75/2 coupon reset, smokin deal at HEB coming!

According to Dr. Travis Stork, emergency room physician and host of "The Doctors," identifying whole grain products can be challenging. Shoppers can look for cues on the front of the box, but they need to read the ingredient list to know if they are getting products with whole grain as the first ingredient. Ingredient lists detail ingredients in order of prevalence, and if the words "whole" or "whole grain" are followed by a grain like wheat or oats, it means the food contains more whole grain than any other single ingredient.

People really want to make healthy eating decisions, but there are a lot of messages vying for their attention in the supermarket. This can be especially true when it comes to determining which foods have a meaningful amount of whole grain. Dr. Stork has some additional recommendations to help you include whole grain easily into your diet. They include:

Start Early! The Dietary Guidelines recommend people get at least 48 grams of whole grain in their daily diets. Get a jump-start on the day´s nutrition by incorporating whole grain into your morning routine. For instance, when choosing cereal make sure whole grain is listed as the first ingredient. One easy choice is cereal with the white check, which have more whole grain than any other single ingredient.

Make Simple Swaps. Choose whole grain versions of the foods you love. Great options include whole wheat pasta and whole wheat bread or even whole grain crackers. Also, try different types of whole grain. Use brown rice instead of white rice as a side dish at dinner or popcorn, which is a whole grain, for a snack.

Don´t Judge a Food by Its Cover. The front of food packages provide good nutritional cues, but don´t forget to read the ingredients and check the nutrition label and side labels for additional health information. Cereals with the white check even include the amount of whole grain per serving on packaging.

Tune into "The Doctors" on January 13th when the experts will discuss the importance of whole grain. Plus, check out Dr. Travis Stork in this brief video on how to find whole grain.

To help make it easier to find whole grain products, General Mills developed "Fast Lane for Whole Grain," an online educational game. Consumers can navigate virtual grocery store aisles and identify products that have whole grain as the first ingredient, with the option to enter a sweepstakes to win one of each of the 50 cereals with the white check.

In connection with healthier lifestyles, a diet rich in whole grain has been linked to healthier body weights, and it may help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.

Axe bodywash/Deodorant Money Maker at CVS

WOW! I stumbled upon this hot deal at CVS. I went in to scan my card, hoping to get the $3 Almay coupon I see others reporting the coupon machine spitting out. While I did not get that one, I got an even better CRT. Among my printed coupons today, I got a CRT for $2 off any Axe shampoo, conditioner or styler. I was very excited about that because I knew they had one variety on clearance that would be FREE with overage with the CRT(itch relief 2 in 1).
Well before leaving I checked for other new clearance tags and noticed Axe deodorant was now 75% off and priced at $1.19. We just got $1 off coupons(1/8 RP) for the deodorant so I knew they would be pretty much free after the coupon and the overage from the shampoo CRT.

Fast Lane to Whole Grain Contest - and $1.75/2 IP for GM cereal

First off, rush over here and print a coupon for $1.75/2 General Mills cereals! This is a very high value coupon you don't wanna miss.

According to Dr. Travis Stork, emergency room physician and host of "The Doctors," identifying whole grain products can be challenging. Shoppers can look for cues on the front of the box, but they need to read the ingredient list to know if they are getting products with whole grain as the first ingredient. Ingredient lists detail ingredients in order of prevalence, and if the words "whole" or "whole grain" are followed by a grain like wheat or oats, it means the food contains more whole grain than any other single ingredient.

People really want to make healthy eating decisions, but there are a lot of messages vying for their attention in the supermarket. This can be especially true when it comes to determining which foods have a meaningful amount of whole grain. Dr. Stork has some additional recommendations to help you include whole grain easily into your diet. They include:

Start Early! The Dietary Guidelines recommend people get at least 48 grams of whole grain in their daily diets. Get a jump-start on the day´s nutrition by incorporating whole grain into your morning routine. For instance, when choosing cereal make sure whole grain is listed as the first ingredient. One easy choice is cereal with the white check, which have more whole grain than any other single ingredient.

Make Simple Swaps. Choose whole grain versions of the foods you love. Great options include whole wheat pasta and whole wheat bread or even whole grain crackers. Also, try different types of whole grain. Use brown rice instead of white rice as a side dish at dinner or popcorn, which is a whole grain, for a snack.

Don´t Judge a Food by Its Cover. The front of food packages provide good nutritional cues, but don´t forget to read the ingredients and check the nutrition label and side labels for additional health information. Cereals with the white check even include the amount of whole grain per serving on packaging.

Tune into "The Doctors" on January 13th when the experts will discuss the importance of whole grain. Plus, check out Dr. Travis Stork in this brief video on how to find whole grain.

To help make it easier to find whole grain products, General Mills developed "Fast Lane for Whole Grain," an online educational game. Consumers can navigate virtual grocery store aisles and identify products that have whole grain as the first ingredient, with the option to enter a sweepstakes to win one of each of the 50 cereals with the white check.

In connection with healthier lifestyles, a diet rich in whole grain has been linked to healthier body weights, and it may help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.

TurboTax - Free Federal Edition

Unfortunately it is getting to be that time of year when you have to start thinking about taxes. Good thing for us in Texas, we only have to do with Federal Income tax. I like to use Turbo Tax online because
1. It is free for the basic edition
2. It is fast
3. You can efile for free and get your return back quick

I used TurboTax last year and I love how you can start your taxes and if they start getting too complex, you can upgrade to the paid version without having to start over. (you don't have to upgrade, just keep selecting no when it asks if you want to upgrade to the advanced versions.)
I never qualify for the free programs offered through the government, so I am happy that I can use the Turbo Tax free software for my basic tax return :D

Please consider eating out at Chili's on Wednesday in Honor of Haven Grace

Haven Grace was born with a heart defect that required her to be in and out of hospitals since she was two weeks old. She was life flighted from Tyler, Tx to Children's Hospital in Dallas on many occasions. Finally in August of this past year she received a heart transplant and appeared to finally be on the road to health. However a few days after Christmas she was once again life flighted back to Children's Hospital in heart transplant rejection. She passed away January 4th and has left an amazing legacy of compassion and amazing love towards others. Her parents are pastors of a church that they started a few years ago in Tyler, Tx. They give so much to others and are now trying to cope with the passing of their only child.

As you can imagine, a heart transplant, hospital stays and all the helicopter life flight rides over the years have really added up. This coming Wednesday, January 18th, many Texas area Chili's restaurants are hosting a day to Give Back To Haven. 15% of sales from people that show the Give Back to Haven Grace flyer at Chili's are being donated to Haven's family to help cover the cost of the funeral and medical bills.

Enjoying a nice meal out with family or friends at a participating Chili's on Wednesday will go a long way towards helping a hurting family heal. More information can be found out about Haven Grace Davis and her family through their Facebook page, Praying for Haven Grace.

Planters Peanut Butter $1.50/2 IP and a few other coupons

A new coupon for Planter's Peanut butter just got released. Save $1.50/2 (I can't print at work so I am unsure if this one has size restrictions)

Found these HOT "B" Yellow coupon at HEB and I think it will go perfect with the tearpad coupon I found on a beer display at my local HEB(sorry, forgot to take a picture of that one because I was in a hurry)
The tearpad is for $3/2 Digiorno pizzas (we also just got $1/2 inserts if you cannot find the tearpad)

Since the YQ is a B coupon, you can combine it with a manufacturer coupon, per the HEB coupon policy.

The Hot pockets 5 packs are $5.36 at my store.

The Digiorno pizzas are $5.48 each.
So, combining the coupons will look like this:

2 Hot Pockets @ 5.36 = $10.72
2 Digiorno @ $5.48 = $10.96
-$10.96 (2 B coupons)

HEB - Better than Free Neutrogena face bars - after rebate

HEB is at it again bringing us some awesome deals with their in store Yellow coupons. Right now, they have a YQ for $2 off Neutrogena skincare or haircare products. Well, if you are lucky, your store has the facial soap bars for $1.97 (some stores around Houston sell them for $2.47).
Use the stores YQ and the get FREE (or .47 each)

Make sure you also look for these on clearance! The three stores closest to my house and office sell the regular bars for $2.47, so I was happy to find these naturals for $2 so FREE after YQ!

Then, I made sure to buy $30 worth BEFORE coupons and will mail in for a $10 rebate. Profit of $10!!!! Woo Hoo. Hurry, the YQs are only good until 1-17.

CVS - More better than free hairdye

There seems to be yet another ECB deal on hairdye that appears to be working with the Nice 'n Easy 117D haircolor. These are on clearance for $1.99 and with $1 insert from the most recent P&G, they just cost .99. Upon purchasing, you will earn a $2 ECB (limit is 6 but you have to break them up in groups of 3 or less, ecb max per transaction on that deal is $6).
I also found several Nice 'n Easy Foam haircolor on clearance for $2.49. With the $3 insert coupon on this variety, they were free! I will earn .25 from the Beauty Club for them so I grabbed 4 per transaction to also bring my out of pocket down on my purchases
*the full $3 applied to the transaction because the other Nice 'n Easy made my value high enough-
at CVS, their register does a "basket" total per family of products. So the register saw a balance of $15.93 (4 @ 2.49 and 3 @ 1.99) on Nice N Easy. My coupons totaled $15 (4 @ $3 and 3 @ $1). I paid $1 and got back $6 and earned added 15.93 to my beauty club balance.
John Frieda hair foam also has several on clearance for $3.32. Although there is no ECB offer, we have $3 inserts from 12-4 SS. You will earn .33 back from the Beauty Club, thus making them free too!

Randalls (Safeway) .50 Salad and .25 Carrots

I have to admit I joined Superpoints in September when a blogging friend of mine mentioned it. I have been extremely lazy in doing much and earned most my points just by clicking on the emails I get with points in them, much like I do for Mypoints. I had earned a total of 388 points from my entry in September until January 2nd just for clicking those emails, not too shabby considering a $5 gift card costs just 500 points. Well since then, I have earned 200 more points by still opening emails and simply spinning the super points button(I have only actually rememebered to do this twice, lol). So, anyway, one of my New Year's resolutions is to try to actually put a little effort into these rewards programs and see if the extra return is worth it. I have to admit, so far with Super Points, the potential is certainly there.

If you are you can either shop in store, or take your ad to Walmart to price match. I typically just pick the stuff up at Walmart because the store closest to me is not very coupon friendly.
You can get on their home mailer list by stopping in to your store and asking to be put on the mailing list. Then, you should get the 2 page homemailer every week.

I hope you like hair dye! If not I know some women's shelters that would LOVE to take it off your hands, and if you can find the right ones, you can get most of it for ZERO out of pocket!

CVS has loads of hairdye on clearance as they are about to do a HUGE reset on that aisle, along with their shampoo! Well, there are currently 2 ECB deals that involve hairdye and it appears the clearance is working on these!
The two ECB deals
Spend $25 get $10 ECB wyb Loreal Preference or Feria Hair Color (limit 1 according to the ad)

Buy 1 Clairol hairdye get $2 ECB (limit 3 according to ad)

There are a number of colors of the Clairol Natural Instinct that rang up $2.49 clearance. Combine that with the $1 off any Clairol manuf. coupon in the last P&G insert 1-1 and you turn this into a $.51 MM each
I purchased 3 in one transaction and got $6 in ECB but it did not show me maxed out so I bought more and turns out the limit is 6!

Now for the HUGE moneymaker! There are TONS on L'oreal hairdye on clearance from $2.07-$2.67. Between the $2 and $5/2 inserts from 1-1 RP and the $2 tearpads for the Root Rescue found right next to the products, you can actually pay $0 OOP and get $10 for $25 purchase. I purchased what is pictured at lunch and ran back to work. When I checked my receipt I saw my limit had not been reached so I went back and did it again, and again, and again! Turns out the limit is 4 or $100!!!!!! WOW! (I am not sure if you have to do these one at a time or not as that is how I did them)
Well, since I spent $100 on hair dye today, in two days I should have earned another $10 from my Beauty Club earnings for a profit of $5 on the L'oreal alone.
The other $3 MM is the difference between what I paid for the Clairol and what I got back:
6 x 2.49 = 14.94 - $6 in coupons = $8.94 got back $12 in ECBS!

*Just remember you probably want to do Clairol 3 at a time and the L'oreal 1 $25 value at a time!
*there is also a $3 off any Preference if you can find some of those on clearance!

Keep in mind clearance is typically excluded from ECB deals so this might be a glitch and might be fixed at any time, but they way I combined the coupons and price points, I ended up paying nothing anyway so nice score for the ladies shelters for NO OOP!

WOW! My friend in Galveston shared this bit of info with me. Apparantly you can go by The Daily News offices in Texas City or Galveston after Sunday and pick up a bundle of 10 papers for just $10.
They even have more information about this deal on their facebook page here.
I am told that The Daily News does not always have as many inserts as the Houston Chronicle but for 10 inserts for $10 that might not be too bad, especially when there is a super HOT coupon out.
You can call them first too to find out if they have a stack, but be sure to bring exact change as they can't always break your higher bills.

Heb - Free Kens Dressing again and possibly cheap ham

Stopped into HEB today on two tips from friends.
The first comes from Aliceson who informed me the Kens Dressing was on sale for $1 again making them free with the $1 off 9 oz dressing coupons we just got today in the smart source, YAY!

The second was a great way to use up my P&G $10 catalinas. The HEB Spiral Hams are on clearance for just .99/lb. WOW! This was reported at one store I went and grabbed mine, but I did notice there was one variety at another store that was also marked. Good luck and I hope your store is clearancing them too! I am stocked now for Easter :D

Zaycon Foods - Chicken Breast for $1.69/lb when you buy in bulk

I have to admit when I first heard of Zaycon foods I was skeptical. They don't tell you where the meat comes from and could it really be that great? I mean, it is a great price BUT you have to buy so much at once and pick up time is only a 2 hour window on 1 particular day. Hmmm. Well, the last time the chicken came around I didn't order because I just couldn't convince myself to take the plung. I had several friends purchase and upon speaking with them I found that their chicken came from Sanderson Farms. I was bummed then that I had not ordered because Sanderson Farms is one of the few chicken producers that do not plump their chickens (basically making you pay extra for water and broth injected in the breast as well as increasing the salt content of your meat).
So the event is coming back to the Houston area and thus I am taking the plunge. I have ordered a box of chicken and a box of the bacon just to see for myself if it really is as good as friends are reporting. BUT I have to admit 40 lbs of chicken and 30 lbs of bacon is a LOT of meat at one time, even for me. For this reason, I have a friend splitting the order with me.
The chicken is $67.60 for 40 lbs or $1.69/lb for boneless skinless chicken breast
The bacon is $89.10 for 30 lbs or $2.97/lb
Event dates vary by region and you have to be available to pick up on the date and time listed(good thing my dh is now homeschooling :D )

Those of you with the .50 home delivery subscriptions, you might want to call up your carriers and see if you can get an extension on your subscription at the cheaper rate.
For those that buy at the newsstands, the cheapest deal I see advertised right now is $1.50 for Sunday only directly through the Chronicle here.

Will more of you start buying from clipping services like Dede or The Coupon Clippers (Dede is located just outside San Antonio so hers tend to come pretty quick to us in TX)

Will more of you be flooding the .99 Only stores for cheaper papers(before this increase they sold them for $1.50 but not sure if this increase will also increase their selling price)

Food Town has a few good deals this week. Find out if you are close to one here.
If you are you can either shop in store, or take your ad to Walmart to price match. I typically just pick the stuff up at Walmart because the store closest to me is not very coupon friendly.
You can get on their home mailer list by stopping in to your store and asking to be put on the mailing list. Then, you should get the 2 page homemailer every week.

Stopped into HEB to look for new P&G Yellow coupons since the really great Duracell and Always/Tampax one expired yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not see any new coupons to help that promo, but I did find a few coupons to help save you a few bucks on groceries!

It is the new year so time to shed some pounds right?(I could stand to lose some). Well there is a B Yellow coupon for $6 off 10 Smart Ones, which means you can combine it with a manufacturer coupon, yay!
The cheapest meals are $1.78 so

=$8.80 or just .88 each!

Or, how about Lean Cuisine? Cheapest I saw were $1.66 and there is a B Yellow coupon for $7 off 10.

These next two coupons make a pretty nice combo.

Staples - Free Copy Paper and a few other goodies

There are several items at Staples for pretty cheap per their ad, but I like to find the items that are $1 or $2 after Staples Easy Rebates and then find a $/$$ coupon to make them 100% free. This week, I was able to do that to score 2 reams of copy paper for FREE! (much needed when you print coupons!)

I also take advantage of a few Staples Rewards offers here and there. I don't do them all because Staples Rewards are different than Staples Easy Rebates (I will explain both further down this post, let me just explain what I ended up getting and then explain the difference between the two for those that don't know.

First, if you plan on doing these deals, you will want to go here first and print the $5/$25 coupon that pops up.

Ok, then you can look at the ad online that is right after the coupon. On the first page there is a package of 50 Staples Photo paper for $13.99 but just $1 after Easy REBATE. Limit 2 per household
There is also a package of Hammermill copy plus paper for $4.99 but just $1 after Easy REBATE, also limit 2.
Well, I don't really care about the photo paper but it serves its purpose by upping my total to use the $5/25 to get my Hammermill paper free. Here is what I did

1 Staples Paper $14.99
2 Hammermill Paper $11.98
= 26.97
-$5/25 printable
+ tax 1.81
=$23.78
I got 2 rebate forms printed with my receipt that I will use to go online to StaplesEasyRebates and submit for $13.99 and $9.98 back so a total of $23.97 will be refunded to me via check.
That is a profit of $0.19 to buy 2 reams of paper I can use to print coupons! (the photo paper I will probably give away)

In a separate transaction, I went to buy the free after REWARDS letter/legal storage bins. I don't actually use these as filing bins since I have a file cabinet, but these make great containers to store toys, art work or just anything around the house. According to the ad, you can get 2 of them for free after REWARDS.

Well, imagine my surprise when I went to my store and they not only had the sign advertising the rewards, but they had an unadvertised buy 2 get 1 free sale!!!!! SCORE. So I grabbed 3, paid for 2 @ $13.49 each and will get back $26.98 in rewards. So basically I am out my tax of $2.23 on this transaction ~~but my last transaction more than makes up for that!~~

Now, how are Staples Rewards different from Staples rebates? Well, rebates are just that, you pay now, submit your information(I love that you can do this online at Staples, so you don't even waste a stamp) and you have a few options for payment back. You can get a gift card or a check. I always pick the check because then to me it is 100% free since I will get my money back to use anywhere I choose!

Staples Rewards, you need to sign up for their free card either here or in store. Once you've signed up you'll earn 10% back in Staples Rewards on all ink and toner, case and ream paper and Copy & Print purchases. You can also earn rewards back on select items advertised in their weekly ads. This week that is the storage bins and the Avery 3 ring binders. With Staples REWARDS, if you use coupons you will receive the reward value LESS the value of the coupon, hence the reason I broke my transaction up. If I had combined them, I would not have earned the extra $5 from using the coupon.
Also, Staples REWARDS are certificates you will receive in the mail to be used only at Staples on future purchases AND they have an expiration date. This is why I only do them on the items I really need or want. Then, when the rewards come in, I go buy my toner cartridges for my printer before they expire. It is money I would be spending anyway, so to me it is like pre-buying my toner and getting the bins for free :D

Kraft Cheese IP - .50/2!

I love cheese and I have to admit it is getting harder and harder to get it cheap. Right now you can go here and print a coupon for .50/2 8 oz Kraft cheese. I am printing this coupon to either try to find a deal at Target with Target coupons or to use at Randalls during a sale since they will double the coupon.

Reader Spotlight - Old Spice bodywash .49 each at Kroger wyb 4

This deal was reported by my reader Lupe in my chat. Right now Kroger has the Old Spice bodywash on sale for $3.49 each. When you buy 4 in a single transaction, $1 will be taken off each one making them just $2.49 a piece. Combine that with the insert coupons from this weekend for $2 off any Old Spice bodywash and you have bodywash for just .49.

While I was at Kroger to snap a picture for the blog I noticed this display as well. It seems Kroger Christmas inventory has now been reduced to 75% off. You might want to check your store if there were some items you have been eyeing in the clearance section.

Walgreens - Free got2B Hairspray after RR and found free Healthy Habits activity book

I ran into Walgreens today and let me just say the shampoo aisle is flooded with clearance tags! While a great deal of the items in my store were already sold out, I did find these bottles of got2b on clearance for $1.69. I purchased the black bottle for my nephew and the $2 RR advertised did print, yay!

While on the shampoo aisle, I noticed this display with a free activity book inside. The back of the book has a coupon for $1 off any Gummy Vitamins in Disney or Marvel Character shapes and expires 4-30-12.
Inside the booklet is a poster that has healthy habits listed for your kids as well as some activities and coloring they can do. Pretty cool!

Childrens Museum of Houston - up to 53% off

If you live in Houston and have not had a chance to visit the Children's Museum, you can really make a day of it! There is so much to keep your little ones busy, you might never get them to leave. Target has added a HOT new coupon to their printables.
Go here to print a coupon for $1 off any Market Pantry boxed mac and cheese(it was on page 6 for me). The small boxes are just under about .70 each and thus FREE after coupon. I am being told by my coupon buddies that the coupon auto adjusts down so no need for a filler item for overage and should go in with zero beeps :D

My Target went 70% off clearance this morning, Yay!
I had not yet bought the Starbucks for the $5 rebate, so glad I waited!

Scotch Scissors ringing up $1.50. I found these on the regular aisle mixed in with the regular merchandise. Be sure to look for upc # 51141 93884.
Use the $1 coupon from the 8-7 SS to get them for just .50

Scotch tape ringing up just .60. Check the regular aisle for UPC # 21200 46647. Use the $1/3 insert from 8-7SS to get is cheaper :D
