Better than Free Skintimate at CVS

WOW!  I stopped into CVS this morning and found these $2 peelies on the Skintimate shave gels.  What is even better is I bought the two cans the peelies were attached to and earned an $8 ECB for buying Skintimate.  That makes them each a profit of $2.61!!!! Sweet
If you don't find the peelies, there are still .55 inserts in 1-15 SS making them a $1.16 money maker, yay!

Other deals I got:
I purchased 3 .99 American Greeting cards and used
free greeting card with purchase of other greeting cards (of equal value, sort by flowers and gifts to find it quicker).  and $2 off 3 greeting cards CVS store coupon here.  Spent $0 and got back $3 ECB

Purchased 1 Cadbury Mini eggs at .87 and got back $.87 ECB.

Found 4 more Carmex healing skin care coupons in my stash so picked up 3 more trial size for free
(coupon expires 1-31 and can be found in 10-30 RP)

Picked up Instyle Magazine for free
Magazine is $3.99 - $2 IP - $2 SavingStar reward(SavingStar will not come off at the register but will be added to your account for your purchase, learn more about SavingStar on my post here)

I didn't have these coupons with me but I have heard of some friends that are purchasing the $1.99 Speed Sticks and using the bogo coupons from this past weekend.  If you have 3 coupons you can get them free (or better) after ECBS (spend $12 get $6 ECB, some friends are reporting the bogo coupon is auto deducting the full $3.99 value!)

Superpoints - Easy way to earn Free Gift Cards

Well, since my last post about Superpoints here, I have been really trying hard to remember to play the Superpoints button.  It has been paying off as I have collected quite a few more points from play.  Today, I let my kids sit and click and they won me about 25 points, plus it was a wonderful way to keep them busy while I did some organizing :D
I have also been getting several emails lately worth 5 and 10 points and so my points have really been racking up.  I love that with just 500 points I can cash out for a $5 gift card to my choice of several places like Amazon, Paypal, Best Buy etc!

Anyway, if you have not joined yet, I gotta say, this is much faster for me then earning on Swagbucks and it really is worth the price......FREE
I have been given 15 special invite tokens and after those are used up, I can still send email invites. When you join under me I get 25 points, and then you can in turn invite your friends and score 25 points :D  When you add a picture to your account, you double your Superpoints button spins too!

So, here are the links to my 15 invites, please let me know if you use them so I can cross them off the list, or you can feel free to leave me your email address in the comments (I will not publish it to the blog for your security) and I will send you a personal invite.

I would love to hear how quickly you rack up the points.  For those of you that already joined under me, how many points have you collected?
Invite links (one time use so please let me know if/when you use one)

HOT $2 Printable for Tilex Mold and Mildew

I have got to tell you I personally LOVE Tilex Mold and Mildew.  I have an older house with white tiles in my bath that just do not come clean with most cleaners.  Tilex Mold and Mildew has honestly worked the best for me so I was super excited when I was informed they had a $2 off IP on their facebook page!
I am also excited to say they are currently on sale for $3.50 each at HEB.  With the $2 coupon that makes them the cheapest I have seen in a LONG time (I was just about to buy some more too! yay)  Bonus, the coupons still print with the OLD barcode too so you should be able to still use them at HEB.  YIPPEE!

Disclosure: I got paid nothing for this post nor was I asked to give a review, I just really really like this product :D

Prices are from my store ad.

Please remember Heb has regional ads and they can vary greatly in meat and produce prices, so please go online and view your local zip code to confirm you have the same prices as my ad. I have noticed a variance in stores just 3 miles apart.
Also note, HEB accepts coupons at face value. You can review their coupon policy here.
Something to note on my matchups.  I will label the store coupons with an M or a B once I am aware which they are.  B store coupons can be combined with paper coupons for added savings, M store coupons cannot.

Hello Cheap Pickle Chips!

I have to give credit to my readers on facebook for this find. I was attempting to do my HEB post at work today after being gone for 3 days and lets just say I forgot to post actual coupon matchups, lol! Well, that is ok because I am going to add to that post and modify it and then I will repost so everything is in one place for you readers.
But, I just gotta say this is a HOT deal on pickles. I LOVE pickles! My family HATES pickles. When we order from Chick Fil A, I have extra pickles, they have none! So I have to admit I do NOT buy pickles :( They are expensive and since I am the only one that eats them, I don't get pickles.
BUT HEB LOVES me and is going to give me 16 oz jars of pickle bliss for just .25 each after my 1-22 SS insert and their sale price, YAY!

Now, for all the rest of you look for my revised HEB post hopefully later tonight, but for those of you still reading this nonsense, I have a little contest for you. The first person that can tell me what made me giggle about this coupon, will win a $5 gift card to a select store of their choice(select as in it has to be on my drive to the post office on Friday- Kroger(grrr), HEB, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens).

Winner will be selected via time stamp of entry(I moderate comments due to spam but the time stamp is what time you posted) First correct answer wins!
My readers are too smart, winner picked FAST on this one.  Thanks everyone for playing and yes, the answer was wow really rush out, you have 4 months to use this coupon :D
Good luck!

Cvs Run Today - done until next week

I apologize for not posting a matchup post for CVS or Walgreens this past week. I am trying to get more on a blogging schedule to actually remind myself to post matchups and such regularly but I am such a sporadic shopper. When I wake up in the morning, I might THINK I am going to HEB, but if I get a text or email from a buddy, or read a hot deal on a forum, my schedule changes instantly!
Anyway, that is quite fair to you guys so I will attempt to at least do better telling you what is on my list for the week. As I have stated in the past, I will not do matchups for EVERYTHING in the ad for chain stores like Walgreens and CVS because to be honest, there are tons of bloggers out there that make this their full time gig and run circles around me trying to compete, lol!

So anyway, on to my shopping trip. I had not really done any of the deals this week, actually today is the first day I have been to CVS all week. I HAD to go to get my Kotex MM I posted about here.

Well, while I was there, I could not pass up the money maker deal on Revlon tools.  Buy 2 get $7 in ecbs.  The emery boards pictured were $3.39 at my store.  I used a $1 insert from 1-15 SS making them cost $4.78 but getting back $7, so a $2.22 profit.

I also read on SD about the Neosporin Eczema anti inch cream ringing up $8.49 and triggering a $5 ECB.
We have $3 insert coupons from 1-22 SS or a $3 IP here, making it just .49 after ecb.

And I am not sure where I read this, but a blog mentioned the Carmex Healing lotions can be found at some CVS stores for .99.  We have $1 off any size coupons that expire 1-31 from the 10-30 RP.  I found them at a CVS on my way home from Staples and the manager told me to take all I wanted(thanks Jon :D)  These are perfect size for my kids rooms and for stocking stuffers for next year.

So overall my trip costs:
1.50 profit Kotex
$2.22 profit on Revlon
.49 cost on Neosporin
Break even on Carmex

A positive shopping tally of $3.23 :D

HOT!!!! $5 off Kingsford Charcoal IP - hurry before they are gone

WOW! You might want to race over here to print this HOT $5 off Kingsford Charcoal coupon before it disappears. Use zip code 75034 to find it quicker.
You should be able to find the Kingsford free with this high value IP.  (Kroger has it currently for $4.99 but their policy states IP can be no more than 75% value of the IP so you probably will not be able to use this there)

Thanks Erin

Kroger Deals Jan 25th - 31st

Kroger is having a mega deal that starts tomorrow for the Tx/La region.
Please keep in mind, except for Bryan/College Station, Kroger no longer doubles coupons, so these matchups are assuming NO doubles. I am hoping to try price matching some of these offers at Walmart as I have heard of many successful at doing so.

Please keep in mind on the mega sale you HAVE to buy in groups of 10 for the $5 to come off(or .50 off an item) For ease of typing this up I am assuming you are buying in groups of 10 and thus listing the AFTER mega price. If you mess up your count, it will cost you an additional .50 per item (suggestion: use hand carts or reusable shopping bags to separate your mega items in groups of 10 before heading to checkout)  You CAN mix and match to get your 10 items, but they HAVE to be in groups of 10 from all participating products.

MEGA Items (price listed is AFTER .50 off per mega item)

.99 Moms Best Natural Cereal
-$1/2 IP (must sign up)
=.49 each

.49 Balance Bars
-$1/3 IP
=.47 for 3

$1.99 Blue Diamond Almond Breeze milk
-$1/2 insert 10-16 SS(limit 1 coupon per customer)
=$1.49 each

.99 Sunny D
-.55/2 insert 1-8 SS
=$1.43/2

.48 Hunt's tomatoes or paste
-.45/3 insert 1-22 SS
=.33 each

$1.99 Honey Bunches of Oats
-$1 IP
=.99

Non Mega deal

Will try to post more after I can walk the store and verify some items participation.

Don't forget to go here daily if you are interested in loading the deal of the day coupon.  Keep in mind you cannot combine a paper coupon with the loadables, so load wisely.

Yoplait Lactose Free Yogurt - .30 IP

Inspired by the Yoplait yogurt we know and love, the new Lactose Free comes in four delicious flavors - Strawberry, Peach, French Vanilla and Cherry - and contains 50% of the Daily Value of calcium, with vitamins A and D in every cup. 99% fat free, Lactose Free contains no artificial sweeteners and can be used in some of your favorite recipes - like chocolate creme brulee and raspberry cheesecake.
For the millions of Americans with lactose intolerance, avoiding dairy may help minimize uncomfortable side effects, but did you know avoiding dairy can have unintended health consequences? According to the National Institute of Health, when dairy is avoided, there are lower intakes of calcium and vitamin D in the diet, both of which are important bone building nutrients often found in dairy. Avoiding dairy can create higher risk for osteoporosis.
Be one of the first to try new Yoplait Lactose Free. Click here to enjoy a coupon for $0.30 off Yoplait® Lactose Free, hitting shelves in January 2012.

This should net free yogurt when Randalls starts carrying this variety.

Thanks Psst.

Food Town Deals Jan 25th - 31st

Food Town has a few good deals this week. Find out if you are close to one here.
If you are you can either shop in store, or take your ad to Walmart to price match. I typically just pick the stuff up at Walmart because the store closest to me is not very coupon friendly.
You can get on their home mailer list by stopping in to your store and asking to be put on the mailing list. Then, you should get the 2 page homemailer every week.

I am listing the items I think are a decent price from both the homemailer AND the in store ad which is much larger(20 pages!)
Food Town does NOT double or triple coupons and at least near me, they adjust coupons down to the value of the item.

Robitussin - Possible Small Money Maker at Walmart

I have to admit I have not been printing these Robitussin coupons because I have had no luck finding the To Go Robitussin that most seem to be finding.  I honestly was beginning to think the Walmarts in Houston didn't carry this size, but I must just not be going to the right store.  It seems my coupon bud Erin has no problems finding them at her local store in Katy, so I am printing this again and adding it to my coupon purse in hopes of finding these.
Each coupon you print, should net $1 overage that you can then use on the remainder of your shopping trip :D
Come back and let us know if you find these and at what store you are able to find them.

March 10th Coupon Class Sign Up, Now LIVE!

I know many people have inquired about another coupon class and finally my co-teacher and I sat down and found a date that will work for both of us.  March 10th we will hold two coupon seminars for beginners.  The first session will run from 9 am - 11:30 am, the second will go from 1:30 - 4 pm.  There is a great deal of ground to go over in these sessions, so please do not plan on bringing children.  Also in the past we have gone slightly over on time so as to answer all questions, so please be aware of that when coordinating your babysitting options.

A little about ourselves:
I  have been "extreme" couponing before it was cool and before anyone else seemed to call it extreme couponing, going on 8 1/2 years.  Courtney has been couponing like this for 4 years and she certainly keeps up with me (and sometimes runs circles around me!)

If you are interested in learning our method of saving over 50% off your groceries, please use the form below to sign up. (Don't worry, we will not share your personal information with anybody else).
The cost of the class is $20 per person.  This cost covers our expenses in renting the venue as well as the class handouts and the coupons and door prizes to be given away.  Upon completing our course, we also invite you to join a facebook group we have set up that is a valuable resource for any questions you might have on your journey of savings.  In this group you will be welcome to ask questions, share deals and swap coupons with fellow couponers in your area of town.

Spots are limited so please sign up to reserve your seat.  Due to fire marshall code we only have so many seats to offer.  Light refreshments will be available.

Bring a friend, your mom, a coworker or your husband (yes men are allowed)   :-)

Saturday, March 10th
Champions Park Clubhouse address:
13635 Champions Park Dr, Houston, TX 77069

To sign up, we need you to use the paypal button to reserve your spot with pre-payment.  Please provide us your primary email address for further instructions for the class.  There are two times to choose from, but both classes will have the same content.  Please select the time that works best for your schedule.

HEB Fruit Snacks Review and Giveaway

Recently, I got the opportunity to do a taste test of the HEB Fruit twists versus the leading brand name fruit snacks.
As you know, I have a 5 and a 7 year old. We used Girls night as the opportunity to sample the array and decide which I wouldn't mind giving to my kids.
The first on the taste test failed my mommy test:
Just opening the package of Fruit Gushers, my little one was covered in gooey juicy syrupy goo (and this was with help from mommy!) Looking at the ingredients, I was excited to see a fruit concentrate first, but the other ingredients to follow pretty much take that excitement away quickly:
Pears from concentrate, SUGAR, dried CORN SYRUP, CORN SYRUP, modified corn starch, FRUCTOSE, grape juice from concentrate.
I don't know about you, but that list reads: a little juice, sugar, sugar, sugar, a stabilizer, sugar, a little more juice.  WOW!  I thought fruit already had enough natural sugars in it, why would you need to add even more?
On to box #2 Kelloggs Disney Fairies.  I have to admit the presentation of these was a hit given my girls are all about fairies right now, but the very first ingredient is CORN SYRUP.  Right on the front of the box:
Made with real fruit YES, it is ingredient #3, right after the CORN STARCH and SUGAR. YIKES

#3 Welch's Fruit snacks, these do have fruit listed as the first ingredient, but again second and third ingredient is CORN SYRUP and SUGAR!

Finally, on to the HEB Fruit Twists.  I was given one box of each flavor they offer: Strawberry, Wild Berry, and Grape.  All have very similar ingredients, except for a few variations due to flavoring:
Concentrated apple Puree (contains ascorbic acid) and apple juice concentrate
strawberry juice/mixed berry/grape juice concentrate (depending on the flavor)
natural flavor
natural color
pectin
glazing agent

That is IT!  One of the things I love too is that they are little twists (2 to a package).  I prefer these kind of snacks because they are easier to handle for little hands.  There are not all these little pieces that my little ones might drop between the seats in the car.
Here is a pic of my little one biting off a piece!  What did my kids think?
Zoey:  The sticks are a little sticky but you can eat them straight from the wrapper.  The strawberry taste like strawberries without the seeds.
Sara: I like the grape, can I have another pack?

As a parent, I definitely will choose the HEB snacks over the other varieties.  I love that these do not contain any added sugars unlike the other leading brands.
Right now, you can go here to print a bogo coupon for HEB Fruit twists(limited to first 1,000 prints).

And now, the giveaway.  HEB has offered me the chance to giveaway to one lucky reader a total of 4 boxes of fruit snacks : 1 Kelloggs, 1 Gushers, 1 Welch's and 1 HEB Fruit twists.  You can do your own taste comparison.
To enter:
Subscribe to my blog via email, rss feed, or through my facebook page.
Please come back to this post and leave a comment as to how you are subscribed, limit 1 entry per person and subscribing via all 3 methods will not increase your chances of winning.
Entry will be closed Monday February 6th and a winner will be announced Feb. 7th.  Winner will then have 24 hours to notify me and claim their prize or a new winner will be announced.
All entries with no identifying information will be considered void and deleted.
Good luck!

Disclosure: I received the above mentioned products from HEB to facilitate this review and taste test, as well as a gift card to HEB for my time and post.  I was also provided the first picture of the comparison of the fruit snacks. No other compensation was received and all opinions and wording of this post as always are my own.

KeepTrack Pro - Free App for Android Users

I am pretty excited about Amazon's free Android app of the day: KeepTrack Pro.
KeepTrack Pro lets you keep track of any details you wish over time.  You can keep track of your weight, the medication you are taking, or even the value of coupons you use daily (hint hint Susan!)  I think this a great app for any couponer or anyone working a budget.  Keep track of the money you use daily, the cost you pay for diapers or formula, the value of coupon savings you have daily etc!  The list is endless and a wonderful at your fingers tool to know if you are truly saving over time.

Staples - Better than Free Offers after Rewards

I was a little excited when I saw the Staples ad today since there are several freebies. When, even better that when viewing the online ad, I noticed they are offering up 25% back in Rewards (with coupon) on all items storewide(in store purchases only). Since just about all rebate offers do not give you back the tax spent, this 25% rewards back will more than cover that for a pretty decent return on purchase.

Some items I see as a pretty sweet deal:
Scotch Pop up tape dispenser $2.29
-$1 peelie (I have some of these from buying the .50 Precision scissors at Target)
=$1.29
Earn $2.29 Staples Easy Rebate (limit 1)
Profit of $1 plus ~.33 in rewards

Staples Photo Plus 4 x 6 paper 60 pack $9.99
Earn $9.99 Staples Easy Rebate (limit 1)
Free + ~ 2.50 in rewards

Command Med Picture hanging strips $3.99
Earn $3.99 Staples Easy Rebate (limit 1)
Free + ~ $1 in rewards

Trend Titanium IS 2012 $69.99
Earn $69.99 Staples Easy Rebate(limit 1)
Free + ~ 17.50 in rewards

Hammermill Ream of Copy paper $5.99
Earn $3.99 Staples Easy Rebate(limit 2)
=$2 each but earn ~ 1.50 in rewards back for each

Trend Micro Titanium IS 2012 $40.00
Earns $40 Staples Easy Reward (limit 10)
Free + ~10 in Rewards back for each

Brother toner products, Buy 2 get $20 Visa gift card after Easy Rebate
*I use Brother toner for my printer and it normally runs $65.49 each
I can purchase 2 = $130.98 + tax
Get $20 back for easy rebate and an additional 32.75 in rewards back
That is like getting them for ~ $39 each!
Great deal if like me you use this stuff!

Hurry in, as the 25% back coupon only lasts through Wednesday

Now, how are Staples Rewards different from Staples rebates?  Well, rebates are just that, you pay now, submit your information(I love that you can do this online at Staples, so you don't even waste a stamp) and you have a few options for payment back.  You can get a gift card or a check.  I always pick the check because then to me it is 100% free since I will get my money back to use anywhere I choose!

Staples Rewards, you need to sign up for their free card either here or in store.  Once you've signed up you'll earn 10% back in Staples Rewards on all ink and toner, case and ream paper and Copy & Print purchases.  You can also earn rewards back on select items advertised in their weekly ads.  This week that is the storage bins and the Avery 3 ring binders.  With Staples REWARDS, if you use coupons you will receive the reward value LESS the value of the coupon, hence the reason I broke my transaction up.  If I had combined them, I would not have earned the extra $5 from using the coupon.
Also, Staples REWARDS are certificates you will receive in the mail to be used only at Staples on future purchases AND they have an expiration date.  This is why I only do them on the items I really need or want.
