Kroger P&G deal - Some coupons expire tomorrow!

I apologize for taking so long to get matchups done for this week's sale. There have been a number of personal things going on this week and shopping has had to take the backseat. Also, as I type this, I have a cat trying to kick an almost 4 year old out of my lap, so sorry for any typos.

Ok, Kroger has a Procter and Gamble deal going, you buy 4 participating items and you get $4 off instantly. There is NO limit to the number of times you can do this, but please keep in mind, you must buy in groups of 4 (mix and match) to get the $4 off for each grouping. Prices listed are AFTER promo, so please keep that in mind when figuring out scenarios.
Also, there are some wildcards that can really alter your totals drastically! These wildcards are the bogo coupons as each cashier can enter them differently. Some will give you the ring up price, some apparantly are giving the full non-sale shelf price and others are giving the max value listed on the coupon. I will mark these wildcards with the * symbol.

Here we go: (remember price is AFTER $4 has been taken off and assumes you are buying in groups of 4)

Gillette Body Wash $1.99
-$2 P&G insert off body wash or deod (expires 7/31)
-bogo* P&G insert off body wash or deod (expires 7/31)
Final price : -.01 with the $2 off coupon or possible MM on groups of two combining bogo and $2

Gillette deodorant $2.39
-$2 P&G insert off body wash or deod (expires 7/31)
-bogo* P&G insert off body wash or deod (expires 7/31)
Final price : .39 with the $2 off coupon or possible MM on groups of two combining bogo and $2

Old Spice bodywash $1.99
Old Spice deod $2.50
-$1/2 body wash or deod Pg esaver loadable
-$2/2 Red zone, odor blocker or dry skin defense body washes Pg esaver loadable
-$1 Fresh collection product P&G esaver loadable
- bogo* P&G insert off deod wyb bwash (expires 7/31)
-$1/2 insert P&G (expires 7/31)
Lots of potential for overage on this one! I purchased 3 body washes and 3 fresh deodorants and used 3 bogos that took off 4.69 each. My $2 and $1 loadable came off making it a $3.60 MM(I could have also thrown in a $1/2 insert, but I didn't have mine with me)

Herbal Essences $1.99
-bogo* insert (getting this Sunday)
-.50 P&G insert (expires 7/31)
If you get the early edition newspaper, you can combine these coupons for overage. Also potential overage on the bogo. Cashier can put in for $2.99 or $3.19

Febreze set and refresh $1.50
-$1 Febreze P&G esaver loadable

Free Samples for Spanish Speaking Households

I am really wishing I had payed more attention to my Spanish teacher in high school. Right now General Mills is offering free samples to Spanish speaking households. I have NEVER had a problem getting samples I signed up for from General Mills. Hurry though, as most offers like this are limited and are sure to go quickly.

$2 Camis at Old Navy

If you want some layered camis, now is the time to head over to Old Navy. You can either print the coupon or just say cami4me and you will get the $2 price (limit 5 per customer - my cashier didn't even look at the coupon, so I would recommend saving your ink). You have until tomorrow to take advantage of this sale.

Be careful to watch your total, one of the camis I grabbed was not one of the $8.50 ones and thus was going to cost $10 (ACK!)

Another piece of advice I can offer about Old Navy. When I go to take advantage of these sales, they don't always have the size or color I want so I buy my limit in what is available. Then, in a week or two when they restock, I go make an exchange. This was actually suggested to me by several employees and they have never given me an issue doing this! GREAT customer service in my book!

Kroger - a few money makers for the final days of Cellfire and Kroger Mega deal

Hurry over to cellfire and load the coupon for the Dessert toppers to score a decent deal!
You will need to load TODAY since cellfire will reset in the morning.
These items can be found in the same section as the Smuckers ice cream toppers in your Kroger store. Currently, they are $2.99 (everyday price). We have $1/2 coupons from the 6-13 SS.
For each 1 you buy, you will get a $2.50 oynso catalina so
Buy 2 @ 2.99 = 5.98 - $1/2 insert - .75 cellfire = $4.23 and earns $5 worth of oynso.
*Suggestion: Load the cellfire today and then check back tomorrow to see if you get another one! Then go grab a couple of these! I wonder if they are any good?
Thank you to my readers for the heads up(I need to dig for names, sorry).
*These are NOT part of the mega deal

Some mega deal goodies:

We just got Softsoap coupons this weekend, making Softsoap free/overage with Mega sale.

Also, free Philly cream cheese(don't get the minis) with mega sale and $5 oynso for purchasing 5 Kraft cheese. Philly is .99 after mega sale and a $5 oynso prints when you purchase 5 Kraft cheeses, making it free even without any coupons! (Rumor is this is printing multiples in the same transaction, but I have not confirmed this) Thanks Imm for the headsup!

Mentos gum is .50 after mega sale, again making them free/overage with insert coupons for $1/2 or .55/1 (check HCW database for insert dates). Again, thank you to readers for emailing me this information.

Other freebies(not part of mega deal)
Franks hot sauce should be free with coupons from Sunday. The small bottles are .99 everyday

Crest toothpaste is onsale for $1 and we should have .50 coupons from 6/6 P&G so free(thanks HCW)

Safeguard liquid soap is $1 and we have coupons from 6/6 P&G (thanks HCW)
There is also a loadable from PG esaver for .50!!!

Free Backpacks at Staples and Office Max*

For those of you needing new backpacks for your kiddos, you might want to check out Staples or OfficeMax this week.

At Office Max, the limit is 2 per household. You get 100% back in your MaxPerks account in September for your backpack purchase(s). I have never shopped Office Max, so not sure how this exactly works, but if it is like other Office supply accounts, you get a voucher good in that store only and these vouchers usually have a 1-2 month use by date before expiration. Fine print also states you will only get back what you pay (after coupons and other discounts) so keep that in mind if you decide to take advantage of this deal.
At Staples, you purchase 1 backpack and send in for a rebate to get your money back. Since they allow you to do rebates online, you will only pay the tax. Just keep in mind, the rebate does state you will get a Staples gift card as your rebate, so you will have to spend the gift card there.

Yummy DoubleDave's Groupon

Just reading my email this morning is making me hungry! Back in my college days, DoubleDave's was a staple meeting place for my buddies and I. Is there any other pizza place that makes Pizza rolls? Well, today's Groupon is for $15 worth of Double Dave's food for only $7. (alcohol not included) What is even better, is the voucher is good until Jan 27th of next year and is good at 11 local Double Dave's locations around Houston area. (dine in or carryout)

WOW!!!!! Randalls single store going out of business!

Ok, for starters, I had no big plans of shopping Randalls this week. Also, I hope this post does not appear as just a brag post. I had grand plans of hitting Walgreens, Target and Kroger today, but instead, I had to alter my plans. I received a heads up from a reader, thank you Rachel, that a Randalls fairly close to me was reported going out of business. Everything in the store was set at 50% off. I wasn't sure how long this had been going on, and wasn't really sure if there would actually be anything left, but I had a noon appointment nearby so I thought I would scout it out.
Well, this turned into a post with a few suggestions to couponers.
Keep your eyes and ears open. Find coupon buddies and friends and make coupon friends on facebook etc. This is a GREAT way to be alerted to these kind of deals. My reader informed me, she heard the deal from a facebook connection.
Second suggestion: ACT FAST!!!!! I went this morning at around 8:30 am and did a few transactions. The store still had a good supply of stuff and I decided I would go back after my appointment. Three hours later I did just that and the store was nearing BARE status. Even items that "should" not really be considered an amazing deal at 50% off were gone.
Ok, so the great thing to take from this is 1. get friends and listen to deals they find! They can be a wealth of knowledge. 2. You might have to change your plans to act fast on a deal that fades faster than a weekly ad.
Now, I know many won't be able to take advantage of the deals I got, but here are a couple deals I found that you can score that do not seem too bad:
Kraft cheese bricks(and shredded etc) on sale for $1.99
Buy 5 get a $5 oynso catalina. That makes them $1 each, but if you find blinkies at your local Kroger(possibly other stores) for $1/2 shredded, you can get cheese for .50 after cat and sale (I didn't buy shredded because with the 50% sale, I could get bricks free and I needed those more)
Bulls Eye barbeque sauce is $2.19 right now. There are Safeway Grilling booklets out(near the meat counter is where I found mine) with $1 off STORE coupons. I also happened to have a free coupon from hosting a houseparty, so $1 moneymaker.
Kraft dressing is currently on sale for $2. There is a $1 STORE coupon in the grilling book ,and $1 insert from 6-20SS making Kraft dressing FREE.
Ace Wrist Braces were on clearance for $3.09. I had a $1 and a $2 loadable come off my order. These I assume came off the Randalls website.
Febreze Home Collection has a $10 rebate deal on their home collection line when you spend $20(I thought it was $25, so I could have broken this up better). Anyway, the candle and reed diffuser were on closeout for $8.99 each and the Luminar Starter Kit was on closeout for $12.99. We have $5 off coupons from the Parade mag 6-27 and there seem to be loadables on the pg website for $4 for the Starter kit and $3 for the candle.
So if you buy just the starter kit and the candle 12.99 + 8.99 = 21.98 - $7 in loadables - $10 in paper coupons = $4.98 cost oop and mail in for $10 rebate. A profit of $5!
For those curious, I spent: $16.24 and will mail for $10 Febreze and $3 Finesse insert rebate and $5 oynso for Kraft cheese, my profit is $1.26 for everything pictured (this does not include the 1% I earned for the Snyder's pretzels from upromise)

I am excited to say I am going to the BlogHer Conferences this year in New York and I really hope I learn several techniques on making my blog more user friendly and easier to navigate for my dedicated readers. I would love corporate sponsorship in any capacity (hey, even cab fare would help out!) If you are interested in having me represent your company, please contact me and we can discuss further details (only family friendly companies will be considered).

Coupon previews are UP!

Just click the pictures above to see the list of Red Plum and Smart Source. The first pic will take you to a list with the Red Plum inserts for next week too.
I am excited about the Post coupons as we rarely get those!
Also looks like we are due to get a Softsoap coupon with just enough time to use it at the Kroger mega sale for free handsoap(about time!)

I hope to catch up on some shopping this weekend as I have not been able to go this week.

Cheap dog food at Walgreens - YMMV

Stopped into Walgreens and found some really cheap dog food, especially if you have the $2 Purina One coupons from 6-27 SS insert.
This is clearance, so you might or might not find it at your store, but if you are stopping into Walgreens, it might be worth looking around to see if you can score some too.
These bags were marked at just $2.12 each and I used $2 off any coupons to get each bag for only .12 plus tax. My sister's pooch will be very happy!
Happy Hunting! There was a lot of other pet clearance, but not anything else so cheap!

New Softsoap Printable

There is a .50 Softsoap printable available here. This should make them free at Kroger or Randalls with doubles.

It is even on the mega deal right now at Kroger, so that should help if you were needing a few more items to get to 10, without any extra out of pocket.
Thanks hip2save for the headsup on the printable.

Sometimes it pays to hold onto receipts

One thing I don't think I have ever mentioned in talking to people about couponing and rebating is the importance of holding onto your receipts for awhile. I know not all extreme couponers do, but I do it knowing I might be able to score some free money down the road.
Sometimes you will find out about a rebate a few weeks after the start date of said rebate. Well, that is when I go to my stack of receipts and start looking to see if I purchased any qualifying items for that rebate. If so, most likely I still have them onhand for upcs and what not and that just means I don't have as much I need to purchase for a rebate.
Pictured above is how I keep my receipts. I keep the envelopes I receive from junkmail and bills(I do online bill pay) and just put the month and yr on the outside of the envelope(I usually keep the prior years receipts until Dec, then toss them)
Next to the envelopes is a receipt I pulled out from CVS dated July 3rd. On that receipt, I have $17.78 worth of Pantene product purchases. This gets me over half way to the new Olay $10 rebate when you buy $30 in participating products. Now I just need to go to my cupboards and pull the UPCS numbers for the form and get another $12.22 worth of stuff. If you notice too, that $17.78 worth of stuff only cost me .05 oop.

Another tip- READ your receipts! FREE Chick Fil A

You should already know how important it is to read your receipt before leaving the supermarket(do you know how many things I have caught ring up a higher price!)
Well, that same advice holds true especially when it comes to Chick Fil A. Notice this receipt above. Chick Fil A has joined the digital age and now offer their surveys on your receipt (before this they used to hand out cards for you to call in) It seems these are at random as I get them sporadically. So please read your receipts. I know as soon as I post this I am logging in to get my validation code for this offer! I LOVE CHICK-FIL-A
And for those of you that LOVE Chick-fil A too, here are two funny songs about Chick Fil A. This singer shares my passion for CFA, lol!
Chick fil A song and God Bless CFA In both videos, you can see Truett Cathy himself(I could just hug that man)

Kroger mega sale deals

Sorry it has taken me so long to get this posted. I have been working late and barely had time to shop, much less post. Luckily this mega sale goes for 2 weeks so plenty of time to get some goodies cheap. I have done several runs now trying to get a variety of items I could use and definitely grabbing the freebies and money makers along the way. Some of these deals I have found on my own and some are thanks to the posters at HCW and a couple coupon buddies who have emailed me the deals (you know who you are ;)

The mega deal involves purchasing 10 participating items and then $5 comes off your total at the end. The GREAT news about the mega deals is that this method of discount allows for overage. For example, the vitamin water is on sale for $1.25 but .75 after the mega deal. I have .50 coupons that double to the full $1 because the register sees the before mega sale price.
For my breakdown, I am going to use the AFTER mega sale price (just add .50 to each item to determine the before mega sale price)
Remember, you can click on my pictures to enlarge it.
Remember my Kroger doubles .50 coupons and triples .35 coupons
Trans #1:
Not part of mega deal - Honest tea $1 - .50 IP (can print 3 per computer)= FREE
Mega deal:
Qtips $1.50 - .30 tripled 5-23 RP = .60

1 Scotch 3M Foam mounting squares .99 - .50 IP = -0.01
-$1 oynso catalina
Tax: .03
Cost oop: .34

This one cost me ALOT, but I bought 10 bottles of wine. My husband and I really like the Ruffino Chianti and I found these 10 bottles on manager special for $5 each. Well, since I purchased at least 6 in 1 transaction, I said 10%, so they were really $4.50 a bottle , YAY! Also, if you will notice the cool bag you get free for purchasing wine. These make GREAT Barbie transporters or storers :) I did this deal on Wed last week so the Dannon coupon is now expired and the Crayola catalina is only spitting out $2 instead of the $4 I got.

Here is this breakdown:
NON mega:
10 Rufiino wine $4.50 each = $45
4 Crayola products $1 each and earned $4 oynso
3 Fuze drinks $1 each - $1.59 ecoupon - 3 .75 tearpad(found at CVS) = -.84
4 Sudafed on clearance $2.09 each - $5/2 insert 4-11 RP = -1.64
MEGA deal:
4 Dan o nino yogurt $1.79 each - 1.50 insert(now expired) = $1.16 and earned $2 oynso

2 Aquafresh kids toothpaste $1 - 1 IP = FREE
3 Suave deodorant $1 - .50 insert 7-11 = FREE

3 Motrin pm $2.50 - $3 insert 4-18 RP= -$1.50

*the Scotch 3m squares ended up costing me because I forget they were part of the mega sale so I had 22 items, not 20!
Tax: 1.84
Cost oop: $49.66 (remember $48.71 of that was for wine!) earned $4 and $2 oynso

Thsi was also done on Wednesay and my husband wanted me to pick up some veggies for a recipe.
Here is my breakdown:
NON mega deal:
1 Schick Hydro 3 $7.19 - $4 ecoupon - $4 insert 6-20 SS = -.81 (can mail in for $7.19 rebate here)
3 Crayola markers $3 (earned a $4 oynso catalina- it is only printing $2 now for this scenario)
1 Bolners spice packet .49
1 ground beef reduced $3.08 - $3 winetag off beef wyb any Bolners = .08

Other things I have read that are on sale for a good deal:
Spaghetti O's (select varities, make sure you picked up a tagged one) .50 - .50/2 IP doubled = FREE
Ore-Ida hashbrowns $2.29 - $1 ecoupon - $1 tearpad = .29
South Beach living bars $1.99 -1.50 ecoupon = .49
Simply potatoes .99 - .55 Dairy book from Randalls = .44

Potential Money Maker or at least free cat food - YMMV!

I went to Petsmart today to pick up some Science Diet cans for a rebate. Well, while there, I checked out the prices on some foods I knew we had coupons for. The 3.5 lb bags of Purina One are on sale for $5 right now with your Petsmart Loyalty card. In addition, they have little 6 oz bags for only .49.
Now, I could have tried getting just the little bags and used my $2 insert 6-27SS coupons for $1.51 overage on each, but instead, I purchased 2 of the $5 bags and 4 of the .49 bags and used 6 $2 coupons! If you do the deal the same way, you WILL need a small filler as this gives .02 overage for each set of 3.
I ended up with everything pictured for $10.56 and will mail in for my $10 rebate from Science Diet(I got this from the vet when the new kitten got her first round of shots)

Randalls - had to run and grab bread!

By the time I got to Safeway (Randalls) tonight, I was exhausted. I just wanted to be home putting away all this mess so I could go to bed(will post my Kroger runs tomorrow!) Too bad it takes forever to get this stuff pictured and blogged about (all the while my kitten attacking my feet and making a racket jumping around!)

Anyway, I didn't really keep tally so went up to the register blindly hoping the Red Baron Slices would be enough to cover the overage. It wasn't, so I had to run for bread(I can always freeze it!) to make sure I had the opportunity to use most my coupons.
Here is my breakdown
(I apologize but it is FAR too late to look up where the ecoupons came from, but I load from shortcuts, cellfire and randalls.com - I will try to fix this part of the post and other links when I am actually awake later today)
These items are part of the buy 4 get $4 off (price listed is after $4 came off)
In addition, when you do this deal, you can get a free box of granola bars(it is posted in the ad)

P&G deal at HEB - ends tomorrow, errrr today 7/15

Sorry about the short notice on this, but I myself just got the email today from HEB and I found out this promo ends tomorrow. I have to say, you might want to try this one at your own risk! I was really hoping for a $10 money maker on this deal, but no catalina printed for me. The catalina machine had a green light, but nothing came out. I can't really complain since I paid very little, but it would have been nice.

Anyway, apparantly if you spend $25 on P&G products (logos shown above on the flyer) you are supposed to get a $10 oynso.

If you still have any of those $2 Pampers wipes coupons from the P&G insert, then you are in luck! HEB has their wipes priced at $1.97. The coupons go in for the full $2 unless your cashier manually enters them. (make sure you have a filler to cover the overage just in case!)

I am anxious to know if anyone receives this catalina for the P&G promo????
EDIT: Thanks goes to WakingDivine to being proactive and looking this promo up. Apparantly you have to spend $25 AFTER coupons for the catalina to print.

Things that make you go HMMMMMMM! - WAY off topic

Remember I promised you another funny?
When I was shopping at Walgreens earlier this week, I perused the clearance aisle and found this so funny I had to take a picture on my phone and send it to all my coupon buds, lol.
I will admit I did not grab one and look inside to see if these are insulated or anything, but I had to laugh my butt off when I saw this pop-up cooler for sale. My first thought was that I had stepped into a SNL commercial (anyone remember the Adobe car, lol).
A cardboard box = cooler! Now why didn't I think of that, lol.

I will give the author credit in at least saying some CAN overcome the hurdles and achieve overall savings.
Coming soon....another post about something that made me laugh my butt off and then look around for a hidden camara

Thanks Mariah for the article, it made my night!

Deal at Office Depot netted close to free lunchbox

To see details, you can click the picture to enlarge(yes I know my pictures are HORRIBLE quality but it keeps others from stealing my pics, lol)

I have been needing to get my girls new lunchboxes for their new school(can't have characters on them) and been looking for deals. (they also can't have backpacks at their school, so those deals are out for me). Well I noticed in the Office Depot ad there were many items for free (after rebate) or cheap (after rebate). Combining that with the $10/25 printable coupon they currently have available, I was hoping to find a decent deal on a lunchbox. I was right!
I found some lunchboxes that had coupons inside and a really great magazine/rebate offer. I can opt for a subscription to Parents magazine(I already have one) or a $4.96 refund(guess which one I am going to pick :)

So here is how my transaction looked:
1 Mr Sketch marker set $7.99
3 2 pack mechanical pencils $7.49 each = $22.47
1 Lunch bag $9.99
$40.45 - $10/25 + $2.51 tax = 32.96

Will send off for
1 x $7.99 rebate for the markers (limit 1)
3 x $6.49 rebate on the pencils (limit 3)
1 x $4.96 Parents/lunch bag rebate (limit 1) = $32.42

So $32.96 - $32.42 = $0.54 + cost of 5 Stamps
GREAT deal for a lunch box!

* I could have gotten it cheaper if I didn't buy as many items (I only needed to get to $25, so I could have bought just 1 set of pencils, the marker and lunch pail @ 25.47 -10/25 + tax = 16.75, get back 19.44 for a PROFIT of 2.69 less the cost of 3 stamps!)

Other items you can get for rebates are:
Swingline LightTouch Reduced Effort Stapler $13.99 - $13.99 rebate = FREE (limit 1 -my store was sold out)

Office depot brand multipurpose paper ream $6.29 - $5.29 rebate = $1 (limit 2)

Office Depot Brand Color-coded heavyweight sheet protectors 25 pk $7.59 - $6.59 = $1 (limit 3)

(If I was able to get the stapler and the markers with the lunch pail, it would have been a profit of $3.16)

Yay! I love my find today at Kroger

I stopped into Kroger today because I finally found my .50 Dole Pineapple IP I mentioned in this blog post. Lucky for me the pineapples were still on sale for $2. Well, while there I noticed they marked down the summer stuff to 50% off. Well, that was JUST enough for me to decide to purchase one of these kid swings. I went to a friend's party a couple weekends ago and she had one of these and the kids LOVED it! I didn't want to risk this not being in stock at 75% off, so I paid $25 for it.
Now to get my husband to put it together for the girls.

Kroger - 75% Toy Story toys and get paid to buy Oscar Mayer

(click on picture to enlarge for detail)

Kroger has a catalina deal going on right now on Oscar Mayer lunch meat. Each 3 you purchase triggers a $2 oynso. Well, Kroger just happens to have the Bologna and Salami on sale for $1. Pair that with the $1/2 insert coupons from 5-16SS. (Hurry, these expire Sunday!)
I purchased in groups of 6 = $6 - 3 $1/2 coupons = $3 and earns $4, so $1 profit.
To roll these, I purchased 6 more and 1 bag of Fast Fixins chicken nuggets and paid zero oop each time after the first and earned 2 more $2 catalinas.

While at the stores today, I found they had the Toy Story 3 toys on sale for 75%! I will be adding some of these to my birthday closet. The items I purchased cost the following:
Action Figures $2 each
Ballpoint pen with stamper .50
Night light $1
Puzzle with moving ship $2.50
Flashlight $2.75
Barbie $3
Buzzlight year car 3.70
Tshirt $2.50

Thanks Imm for the heads up on the Oscar Mayer sale.

Mission is once again offering the .75 printable coupon. Right now Kroger has the 10 count on sale for $1, making them just .25.

Free Haircut for Kids

I know it might sound early to be planning for back to school, but you might want to consider scheduling your kiddos haircut now. Remington College offers an annual event offering free hair cuts for kids 17 and under at their campuses that have a Cosmetology school. They also offer discount salon services for adults during the event. You can find a local campus here (yes there are some in Houston). You might want to call and see about making an appointment since I am sure this is a popular event. Great way to save your cash for new clothes and school supplies!
Thanks Hip2Save for the heads up.

Another Goldfish loadable

If you have not checked your Shortcuts account lately, you might want to head over there. This morning, I had another loadable available for .75 off Pepperidge Farm Goldfish!
There is also a .50 printable available here. (Sorry limit has been reached)
