Wonderful News for Twilight Fans! A Novella coming SOON!

My husband had me looking up something on IMDB, and while there I noticed they had posted new pictures for Eclipse. In turn, that led me to check out Stephenie Meyer's site to see if she had anything new to report to her fans. Well, she sure did! She has a Novella coming out in June about Bree Tanner. Those of you who have read the series should remember that name from the third book. If not, you have until June to read it again and catch up, lol!
Anyway, you can read all about Stephenie's journey writing this novella and how it came to get published as a separate work that is certain to make a wonderful addition and side story to the upcoming movie.

Even better, as a thank you to her fans, she is going to offer the book for online reading for FREE from noon on June 7th until July 5th on the website breetanner. For those like me that still want a physical book to hold and read, Amazon is already taking preorders for 50% off the cover price The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella
(just $7.69 and elgible for free super saver shipping) AND $1 from each book will be donated to the American Red Cross.

I don't know about you, but I have noted the date on my calendar! I can't wait!

Another Great Giveaway - Safeway and Betty Crocker Spring Sweet Treats

I am going to be spending some time with family this weekend and I think my kids, my mom and I are going to try our hand at making a creative dessert for dinner one night. I am not much of a cook(dh does the cooking in our house since he is so awesome at it) but I LOVE making desserts! My oldest daughter is starting to show her creativity in art, so what better way to practice than on a fun dessert concoction. Betty Crocker has a website to get us started on some ideas for our clever cooking challenge. Head over to BakeSweetMemories and check out some of the cool cakes and treats they have made. (I personally like the bunny and chick cookies since that is one recipe my un-artistic self probably can't mess up!)

Well, to help with our cooking challenge Betty Crocker and Safeway have teamed up with MyBlogSpark to offer me the above pictured gift basket AND they are offering an identical one(without the cake mix, sorry) to one of my lucky readers.

They are offering a silicone baking dish, a Betty Crocker spoon(I got one of these from the BC kitchens and I LOVE IT!!!!!), a red oven mitt and a stainless steel mixing bowl AND a $25 gift card to Safeway stores (you can buy lots of cake mix with THAT -especially right now at Safeway as they are on sale for .69 each when you buy 4 :)

I will have this giveaway open until April 8th at midnight. Then comments will be closed and a winner will be selected via random.org. I will post the winner's name to my blog on April 9th and then that winner will have 48 hours to contact me or a new winner will be chosen.

One entry per person
Tell me your best baking memory or something funny that happened while baking/cooking.

Disclaimer: Betty Crocker, Safeway and MyBlogSpark provided me the same gift basket mentioned above as well as a VIP coupon for a free box of cake mix. They also are providing one reader the gift basket mentioned above without the VIP coupon. I was not compensated in any other way for this post and all words and opinions in this post are my own.

Campbell's Labels for Education expands to include Safeway card

I found out about E-labels for Education last year from an email. I knew they had partnered with Kroger and you could enter your card information but was not aware they have since added Safeway stores to their site.
This is a GREAT program that collects Labels for Education points for your school just by purchasing participating products and swiping your store loyalty card. Could it get any easier? Even better, you can still save those labels for submission into your participating school!

Just go here to sign up and if you are new to the program, they will give you a 200 label bonus just for signing up.

If you have little girls, schedule a stop at ToysRUs tommorrow!- HUGE YMMV

If you have a little girl in your life, then I am sure you have at least 1 My Little Pony in your life. If you want more My Little Ponys for your little girl without the pesky part of actually having to spend money on them, well I have some GREAT news for you.
TRU is having a deal of the day on My Little Ponys tommorrow(as in Wednesday!!!!!!!) and they are on sale b1g1 free.
Wow! Two ponies for the price of one, but wait, there is more(sound like an infomercial, lol)
Go here now and you can print a b1g1 free coupon for My Little Pony and then TRU will give you two for the price of 1, or better yet, two for absolutely free(yes, I was watching a infomercial during this post and couldn't resist!)

So, in sum, print the MLP coupon on THIS page(twice per computer) and take it to Toys R Us tommorrow ONLY, and they will give you 2 My Little Ponys for ZIP, ZILCH, NADA (already, those of my readers NOT living in TX might have to pay sales tax, I'll give you that!)

If you see me loading up on MLP tommorrow at TRU, be sure to stop me and say HI! And if you don't see me, set aside a Rainbow Dash for me :)

Edit: Apparantly this coupon is giving grief at the register and will not go through without further involvement. I was shot down today at Sugar Land after pleading my case to 3 different employees. Oh well, win some, lose some
Good luck to all who try.

Final frozen food run at Randalls

Sorry to post so late, but I was home with a sick kid and had to wait until late to hit Randalls one last time for the frozen food deal that ends tonight.

Here is what I did:$
9 Yoplait smoothies $3 each - 2 free auto'd at $3.29 - 7 $1 2-7 GM(there is also a $1.25 IP here- I received my frees from my trip to Betty Crocker kitchens) = $13.42
4 Scrubbing bubbles $1.99 each - $2/2 peelies = $3.96
12 Suave body wash $1.25 each - 4 $2 b2g1 - 2 .50 insert for kids wash(1 doubled) - 7 .50 Randalls booklet(cashier accidently scanned one extra and didn't delete it) = $2
4 Herbal Essence $1.99 each - 2 b1g1 auto'd at $4.49 = -$1.02
4 Degree deodorant $1.99 each - 2 $3/2 IP = $1.96
1 Always Infinity $2.99 - $1 Pgesaver - free auto'd at $4.99(from my homemailer I posted about here) = -$3
-$10 Frozen food catalina
-$4 prior Scrubbing bubbles catalina
-2 $1.50 prior Suave catalina
Tax: .08
Cost oop: .40

Earned $10 for frozen food, $4 Scrubbing bubbles, $7.50 (5 $1.50 for Suave- kids does NOT earn catalina)
So final tally:
$17.40 - $21.50 = -$4.10! And did I mention those Yoplait smoothies are YUMMY!

Velvetta cups printable- pair wih Safeway/Kroger catalina

Currently there is a catalina deal going on at Randalls and Kroger. When you buy 2 Velvetta cups, you get back .50 oynso, when you buy 3, you get back $1 and when you buy 4, you get back $1.50.

Right now Randalls has these for $1.25 and last I checked(been awhile) Kroger had them for ~ $1.19 each.

Now the GREAT part, there is a BOGO IP here. So, you can get 4 of these cups for as low as .22 a cup.

Assuming $1.19 price at Kroger
$1.19 x 4 = $4.76 - 2 bogo = $2.38 - $1.50 oynso catalina = .88 or .22 a cup!

I am home with a sick kid so cannot confirm price at Kroger or end price on the Randalls deal, but if one of my readers knows, please report back.

Randalls good deals!

Busy weekend and did a couple different deals while out. First, to Randalls to get some FREE Suave bodywash, some cheap John Frieda and to get PAID to take Herbal Essence out of the store.
Randalls has several promotions going on right now.
1. Suave bodywash is $1.25 when you buy AT LEAST 4. They also have a catalina deal that earns you $1.50 oynso for each two you buy(this only works on womens and mens, not kids variety).

2. Herbal Essence is $1.99 each when you buy in GROUPS of 3. (It is a save $3 off when you buy 3, so if you don't buy in groups of 3, they will ring up $2.99 each)

3. John Frieda is $3.99 each when you buy in GROUPS of 3. (It is a save $3 off when you buy 3, so if you don't buy in groups of 3, they will ring up $4.99 each)

Here is my scenario:
9 Danonino reduced for quick sale $1.14 each - $1 insert 3/28 = $1.26
1 Pampers wipes $2.99 - $2.50 Pg esaver - .50 insert = -.51
12 Suave body wash $1.25 each - b2g1 insert(takes off $2 each) - .50 Randalls March H&B book = $3
6 Herbal Essence stylers/shampoo $1.99 each - b1g1 insert(takes off $4.49 each) -$1 insert = -$4.53
9 John Frieda shampoo/conditioner $3.99 each - $3 insert = $8.91
1 banana .17
-2 $4 oynso catalinas
Paid: .30 oop
Earned 6 $1.50 oynso catalinas = $9
So final tally: $8.30 - $9 = -.70

Kroger run - a few good deals!

I goofed a bit on this run, but I am still glad with the outcome since it will all be a profit in the end!
I took advantage of two Kroger catalina deals going right now.
1. Buy 3 BC potatoes get a $3 oynso catalina
2. Buy 6 Pillsbury refrigerated items get $4 oynso

Well I goofed on the potatoes and bought 4(I was buying four when I had $1/2 booklet coupons and so had 4 stuck in my head)
I also took advantage of new candy booklet coupons I found on a Bud Light display at Randalls. Coupon is for $1/2 Snickers, Milky Way, Twix or 3 Musketeer single bars. They are on sale for .50 each making them FREE with coupon!

The Huggies wipes were on closeout for $1.07 and I had $1 off any Huggies wipes from the March H&B booklet found on the shampoo aisle of Randalls.

And finally, the Success Rice is on sale for $1.99 each and I used .50 coupons from inserts(1-31 RP) to make them .99 each. I purchased these for the $5 Princess and the Frog Rebate found here.

I paid $9 worth of catalinas and .39 oop and got back $7 in catalinas and will mail in for my $5 rebate.

CVS run for CHEAP Prevacid

Well, as it seems to go, you go to the store with one thing, and come out with a cartload!

I was emailed a CVS coupon for $6 off Prevacid and seeing as my husband takes 2 a day, I wanted to take advantage of that coupon. I also had $6 manuf. coupons from one of the March Parade magazines, making a total of $12 off (NO size restrictions).

CVS also emailed me a coupon for either a free body wash or candy, I chose the body wash.

Going to CVS, I found they had the 14 count everyday priced for $12.99, so just .99 after both coupons. Well, while there I wanted to see if I could make any other good deal purchases with my CRT(cash register tape) CVS coupons and my manuf. coupons as well as current monthly and weekly deals they are running.

My luck, they had 4 Stayfree 24 count pads in stock. These are on monthly ECB deal where you earn$2 ECB for each you buy limit 4. I had insert bogo coupons with me as well as $1/1 IPS. CVS was also kind enough to give me $4 off 2 CRT coupon.

They also carry the St Ives facial scrub that I have fallen in love with. The trial sizes are $1.49 and we have $1.50 insert coupons so FREE.

I had two baby related CRTS making a decent deal on diapers. I was given a $2 off any $10 baby care purchase and $4 off wyb Huggies diapers and wipes. I still had my $3 IP for Huggies and I had $1 off any size Huggies wipes from the March H&B booklet found at Randalls.

The last promotion I did was for $3 ecbs when you buy $10 in canday. Since I already purchased 1 Reeses for my daughter earlier in the week, I only needed 11 more to get to $10. With the .55 coupon, that made it just .74 for 11 of them after ECBS.

Here is what I did:
Trans #1:
1 Escape body wash $1.77 - $1.99 free coupon = -.22
1 Huggies travel wipes $1.79 - $1 booklet from Randalls = .79
1 Huggies diapers $11.99 - $3 IP - $2/10 baby purchase - $4/2 = $2.99
11 Reeses cups .89 each - .55 insert 3-14 SS = $3.74
1 Prevacid $12.99 - $6 CVS coupon - $6 insert = .99
7 St Ives apricot scrub $1.49 each - $1.50 insert 3-21 SS= FREE
-$8 in ECBS
Tax .28
Cost oop: .57

Earned $1 for scanning my Green Tag and $3 for the candy

Trans #2: (I asked if I could get Prevacid again since I don't know the new rules with CVS coupons and was told, if it scanned they would take it, YAY!)

1 watch 75% off $3.75
32 Tylenol vials 75% off .25 each - $4/2 Randalls booklet coupons = FREE
4 Stayfree max 24 count $3.79 each - bogo 1-3 RP - $1 IP - $4/2 cvs coupon = $1.58
1 Prevacid $12.99 - $6 CVS coupon - $6 insert = .99
8 St Ives apricot scrub $1.49 each - $1.50 insert 3-21 SS = FREE
-$6 in ECBS
Tax: .32
Cost oop: .64

Earned $8 for the Stayfree

So overall tally: $8.57 + $6.64 - $4 - $8 = $3.21 for everything pictured.

Who wants to Win $20 HEB Gift CARD?

A little history lesson first, lol.

I grew up in Corpus and HEB has always been a mainstay. When we went grocery shopping, we went to the "Heeb". One thing I remember from then is the ham! I love HEB spiral sliced ham and it is still the only ham I demand on Christmas and Easter. I am excited to be visiting my mom this year for Easter weekend and I can assure you, we will be eating one of their spiral sliced hams for lunch/dinner. Lucky for my mom they are already cooked(saving her loads of time) and HEB always has GREAT meal deals during the holidays to round out the meal, without the extra out of pocket expense.

As you can see, you will get 8 items free(a $17.85 value) just for purchasing a Spiral Sliced ham (I recommend the one with brown sugar glaze, yummy!) or for the non-ham fans, purchase Fully Cooked beef brisket or Boneless Beef Prime Rib Roast. Looks like a complete meal to me and you don't even have to remember to make Sun Tea since they throw tea in too! You have until April 6th to take advantage of this meal deal offer.

Now for the contest. One lucky reader will have a chance to win a $20 gift card! That should just about cover your Easter dinner. So what do you have to do to win? Well, first, you have to live in US(sorry International readers)

Then, do one or all of the following(leave a separate comment for each item you do as each comment is considered an entry):
1. Tell me your favorite memory or tradition of Easter/Passover.
2. Become a fan on my facebook page
3. Become a fan on twitter: catladyfour4_ZM and tweet this giveaway(must provide proof of tweet, limit 3 tweets per day)

Contest comments will close at midnight on March 31st and winner will be chosen after that time and if no contact information is provided upon entry, winner will have 24 hours to contact me or an alternate winner will be chosen.

Disclaimer: Winner will be selected via Random.org. $20 gift card is being supplied by HEB directly to the winner. I was not compensated in any way for this giveaway. Heb did not write any portion of this post nor were they given editing rights in any way. HEB was not given advanced viewing of this post prior to it being posted.

Good luck everyone!

Target run to get bandaids

I went to Toys R Us and picked up my Toy Story 1 and 2 and remembered I needed to get some bandaids for the $5 rebate for 2 bandaids and the Princess and the Frog movie. Well, I heard they were free at Target so off I went.
I threw in a few other items and it was a good thing I did because the cashier pushed all the coupons through and I got overage on everything!

Here is how my transaction looked:
2 Diego bandaids clearanced $1.27 each - $1 Target IP - $1 insert 1-3 RP= -$1.46
4 Band aids $1.82 each - $1 Target IP - $1 insert 1-3 RP = -$.72
6 Gillette bodywash $1.79 each - $4/2 insert 2-21 PG = -$1.26
1 Beach towel $2.50 - $1 Target IP = .50
1 pair of pants clearanced $3.24
Cost oop: .30

Will use the receipt to get the $5 back for the Bandaids.

*Heads up: EVERY SINGLE coupon beeped.

Kroger run - FREE Possible MM on INSTANT POTATOES!

Ok, you are gonna have to endure a side store for a bit (and NO I am not getting paid to say this, lol)
Growing up my mom worked so sometimes she cheated and made instant potatoes. Do you remember those cans of potatoes? Blech! I was a thorn in her side always griping about those nasty gritty tasting potatoes.
Imagine my happiness when she brought home that first box of BC instant potatoes! I don't know how Betty does it(I've been to her kitchen and still didn't find the answer) but if I am gonna have instant potatoes, it HAS to be THESE!
SOOOOOOOOO, you want some FREE instant potatoes???? Well, right now Kroger has a catalina deal on BC potatoes
The best scenario requires you to buy at least 3 (b1 get .50, b2 get $1.50, b3 get $3). Kroger has the pouch potatoes on everyday pricing of $1. So, if you were to buy 3 SANS coupons, they are FREE after catalina deal. BUT........................
Remember, I just told you to load cellfire coupons. In the list of loadables, I "suggested" you load the potato coupon to your Kroger card. Did you? Also, you might have a shortcuts coupon on potatoes. Keep in mind, this is Kroger so only 1 loadable is likely to come off at a time(I purchased 4 and 1 came off) but WHO CARES! they are FREE without it, the loadable is just ICING.

Now, if you can find the Spring Savings booklet I have pictured above, there is a $1/2 Potato coupon inside(hence the reason there are 4 potatoes in my scenario, not 3). I found my booklet at a demo at Randalls, but perhaps they left some coupon booklets there. You have until the 18th of April to get this catalina, so plenty of time to stock up on potatoes.

And for those interested, I got the Warm Delights and Fiber One yogurt free after inserts and loadables. Not sure the date the sale ends on these items though(sorry had both kids with me right after I hyped them up on Ben and Jerry's so forgot to check tag dates!)

AND since you are now gearing up to go to Kroger, stop a moment and print a coupon for I Can't Believe It's Not Butter first.
You will find a .50 IP here, and starting tommorrow(for Tx/La region), this will be on sale for .98. Coupon will make it FREE!
Use zip code 77083 if yours does not pull up the coupon.

Free Lunchables- OR overage if your lucky!

I saw HEB had the new Lunchable subs the other day for .38 each, but this was Thursday before we got $1 coupons in the paper! Well my good friend Kim confirmed they were still .38 and I could get overage, but unfortunately my store was already sold out of the ones that were .38. Not wanting to leave empty handed, I went ahead and picked these up since they were on sale for $1. Still FREE, but NO overage.
If you don't have an HEB nearby, these are also on sale for .99 at FoodTown and .99 and Kroger, so with this past Sunday's paper you are bound to find these free somewhere.

Now for a psa(public service announcement): I don't mean to sound "preachy" but you might want to look at the sodium content in one of these meals before feeding them regularly to your kids! YIKES!

Swagbucks test!

Search & Win

Probably gonna jinx it with this post, but I have been told more than once that searching for me earns swagbucks. Apparantly several of my readers search and come to my blog via swagbucks and keep getting 10 everyday!
So I am curious readers, swagbucks search me and post a comment. Is EVERYONE getting swagbucks by searching for my blog, or do I just have a few VERY lucky readers?

CVS trip week of 3/21 and 2 Pampers Gift to Grow codes

Well, apparantly it has been a month since I last went to CVS because my Extra Bucks were set to expire. I also received a $5/30 coupon in my email, so I went to CVS in hopes of finding the deals in stock. I hit two stores since the first one didn't have any of the monitors.

Trans 1:
1 Ban Powder Fresh clearanced @ $1.75 - .75 insert = $1
2 Pampers Cruisers $8.97 each - $2 insert = $13.94

Kroger run- WHAT? How did I go so negative!!!!!!

Ok, I have to admit I did not plan this run! I was forced to run a little further to get my Princess and the Frog DVD and decided to add a Kroger stop on the way home. I kept a vague tally in my head and was pretty sure I was at about even when checking out but that was so NOT THE CASE!
Well, for starters, the store had LINES!! I hate going through uscan with coupons(since I know this ties up the cashier that has to man 4 registers) but I was in a hurry and the other lines were brutal. Anyway, go through uscan and scan in my products (pictured above). Tell the computer, yes, I do have coupons, and it prompts me to give to cashier. I do so, and cashier enters coupons and I happily bag my items(I had scanned and just set on scale and am now bagging in my reusable bags) So, I finish bagging my groceries and head to the uscan station to see how the cashier is doing on my stack of coupons. He finishes up and tells me to go back to my station and pay. I head there and instantly FREAK out when I see the display.
At first I think, oh no biggie, I wasn't calculating properly and I owe $6.xx! IF ONLY! Well, I look at the screen a second time and realize there is a - in front of that $6.xx! YIKES!
I look over at cashier and he says, "yes ma'am go ahead and pay" My thoughts 'hmmm how do I pay a negative balance?" At first I panic and ring up 1 Orbit gum for .99, then it dawns on me, I HATE GUM, I don't chew it and I am not wasting over $6 overage on GUM! So I tackle the next best thing, GRAB BAG CHIPS! I kept grabbing till I was in the positive!
Paid .23 for the above pictured items
Already blogged about the deals here, but the cheese was a happy addition, thanks to a great trading friend finding some bogo coupons and $2 off 2 for the cheese (I OWE YOU ANON FRIEND!)

Randalls- FREE Kashi Heart to Heart for VocalPoint members!

Ok, I have told you about Vocalpoint. If you have not joined by now, shame on you, lol! Well, Vocalpoint was nice enough to send me some Kashi coupons for Heart to Heart cereal. One coupon was for free, and the other 3 were for $1.50 per box. Well, anyone else that happened to get those coupons, you might want to head to your local Safeway(Randalls, Tom Thumb) to score some BETTER than FREE Kashi!
I went today and found a tag for the Kashi on sale for $3 each OR $2 each IF you buy 4!
Well, let's just say I was excited going to the register expecting to pay .50 for 4 boxes (1 free @$3, 3 $1.50 off coupons, 4 boxes ringing up $8) BUT the register decided to work its magic and auto-deducted my FREE Kashi box @ $3.99 making the Kashi look as follows:
4 Kashi @ $3 = $12
-$4 instant savings = $8
-3 x $1.50 = $3.50
-$3.99 free coupon = -.49

I also purchased trial size tide (.99) with the .35 any insert coupon and Blistex ($1) with the .35 insert

Now, all this by itself would have been a HUGE % off run BUT then I stumbled upon a beer deal. Well, seeing as my man is a beer man, I had to check it out! $24 dollars later, I found myself purchasing 52 bottles of mix/match beer. Not sure why this beer was being sold the way it was, but at ~ .50 a bottle, I did not question it. Dh took a picture AFTER he pulled all the beer out of the weird packaging they sold it in. Let me just tell you he was a happy camper!

HOT DISNEY MOVIE DEAL!!! ENDS SATURDAY Princess and Toy Story!

WOW!!!!! I stumbled upon an AWESOME deal for Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and The Princess and the Frog on Blu-Ray and DVD!

Ok, bear with me because this deal is not for the faint at heart, lol. AND this deal is especially SWEET for those of you that already own a DVD or VHS copy of Toy Story and Toy Story 2! BUT before I go into the deal, it seems to be a SWEET deal whether you are in it just for the Princess and the Frog deal or if you are just in it for the Toy Story part. If you are in it for both, then you are in NIRVANA!!!!

This deal ENDS Saturday so you MUST hurry(sorry I found out about it after 5pm on Friday!)
Ok, let me see if I can post this without confusing you.
I already told you how to get a $10 off coupon on Princess and the Frog. (Make sure you print the US one, not the Canadian one) This $10 needs to go with you to Toys R Us.
Go and find the Princess and the Frog Combo pack Blu-Ray and DVD. While you are there, seek out the frogs as pictured above. They should be on either an endcap, or a special aisle with the other Princess and the Frog merchandise.
Go to register with your frogs and the movie and tell the cashier you would like to prebuy Toy Story and Toy Story 2.
They will find a card (pictured above) and will ask you to pick the version you want. Pick it and they will ring you up. You will have to pay $5 pre-buy price per Toy Story but that is OK! This is how you transaction should play out:
Princess and the Frog combo pack is on sale right now for $26.99 but when you see it ring up on the register, it will say $34.99, DON'T PANIC, all is well.
The frogs are free when you buy $30 worth of Princess and the Frog merchandise and since the register is ringing the movie at $34.99 it triggers the frogs to be free: YAY!
Then, the register will charge you $5 twice for your selection of Toy Story and Toy Story 2 pre-buy
BUT there is a promo right now that if you pre-buy both, you get $15 off any movie by Disney (psst: Princess and the Frog is one of them!)
BUT even better!!!! Apparantly, there is a promo that you get $5 off any movie by Disney when you prebuy 1 of the Toy Story movies and RIGHT now the register is triggering BOTH discounts!!!!!!! So, now $20 OFF The Princess and the Frog AND we have not even handed over that $10 IP I mentioned!!!!!!

So here we go
Toy story prebuy $5
Toy story 2 prebuy $5

Princess and the Frog kissing frogs

Princess and the Frog Bluray combo $34.99 - $8 sale price =$26.99
-$15 when you pre-buy Toy Story 1&2 = $11.99
-$5 bonus "glitch" = $6.99

-$10 IP coupon

=$6.99 + your tax rate!

WOW!!! By itself that is a GREAT deal, but it gets BETTER!
According to Couponing to Disney, Toy Story 1 and 2 are going to be just $16.99 each wyb both together! Not only that, but they are supposed to have 2 movie tickets in them for Toy Story 3 coming out in June.

Well, in your previous transction, you have already paid $5 each toward that price AND if you own Toy Story 1 and/or 2 on DVD or VHS you can earn a $10 off IP for the Blu-Ray copy.
Just go to DisneyMovieRewards and enter the 12 digit UPC code for each movie and you will be able to print 2 $10 coupons per movie!
So, on Tuesday, when you go and purchase the movies, your transaction should look like this:
2 x $16.99 = $33.98
- 2 $10 IP
-$10 you already paid
= $3.98

So, at this point, you have spent : $6.99+ tax + $3.98 + tax to get 3 movies, 2 stuffed animals, and possibly 2-4 movie tickets AND you can still get some money back by looking into doing 2 of these 3 rebates.

Thanks goes to Couponing to Disney and SD for the complete deal!

Randalls - Should I move in to the store?

I am beginning to think my husband is going to have my mail forwarded to Randalls as it seems I can't keep out of that store lately. Decided to go for a few more scrubbing bubbles since the catalina that makes these free ends on Sunday. While there I wanted to pick up more Kidney beans so I can convince my husband to make another batch of his chili.
Well, I threw a few more deals into the mix, but nothing too grand. Well, I also purchased the Smart Ones again but those are not pictured because I dropped them off at my sister's house for her.

Final tally: $14.14 - $16 = -$1.86

Found display sign for purchase 1 Bush's kidney beans, Hunts diced tomatoes or tomato paste, and ground beef in single transaction, get $2 oynso catalina (valid through April 6)

Walgreens Run - Had RR about to expire

WOW! To be honest, I have not looked much at the Walgreens or CVS ad this week. I have been so wrapped up in Randalls and Kroger, I just don't know what is going on. Well, I was forced to look at Walgreens because I had 2 $5 RR expiring TODAY. I really didn't have anything I needed other than bread, so wanted to find a way to roll them without losing too much in the process.
Lucky for me, there is a great Neosporin deal and a Benadryl deal.
I had to break my transactions up because one of my $5 RR was from a prior McNeil(maker of Benadryl)

Anyway, the deals:
Buy 2 participating Benadryl get $5 RR back

Buy $10 worth of participating Neosporin or Band Aid products, get $3 back

Here is how I ran the deals:
2 Benadryl kids 4 oz $4.99 each
-$4/2 from Randalls monthly booklet (there is now an IP here)
-$2 ($1 x 2 from Childrens' coloring book-these expire this month *sniff *sniff)
1 Wonder Bread $1.99
-$5 RR
Cost oop: $5.97 and got back $5

3 Neosporin $12
-$2 ($1 x 2 insert)
-.50 (.50 insert - I ran out of $1 q and didn't have the IP)
-$6 ( $2 x 3 from coloring book)
1 Colgate Total $3.99 - .75 IP (there are higher value inserts)
1 Royal gelatin .69 -.49 in ad coupon (filler to use RR)
-$5 RR
Cost oop: $1.94 and got back $3 for Neosporin and $4 for Colgate

Total for the trip:
$5.97 + $6.94 - $5 - $ 7 = $0.91 cost

Clean your house - Adopt a Soldier

Ok, hopefully my title caught your eye!

I have a confession to make to everyone:

I really really hate sample and trial size products. While it is GREAT to get a sample or trial size item free, I hate trying to store them. They don't always stack well. They take up space. They usually only have enough product for a couple days which means more trash or water to clean out plastic bottles to recycle. My list goes on and on why these little bottles of products annoy me. Fortunately, for me I was informed of a WONDERFUL website that will solve my angst and get the clutter OUT of my house!

Adopt a US Soldier is a 501 (c) 3 non profit organization that focuses on connecting supportive Americans with currently deployed soldiers. You can register on http://www.adoptaussoldier.org/ and a soldiers information will be emailed to you within a couple of days (at the latest!). You can then write letters, send cards or even care packages full of items to your soldier while he is deployed overseas. Some soldiers may contact you back on anywhere from a daily basis, to no contact at all. There are some 'silent soldiers' that have no access to internet or mail, so please do not be discourage. These soldiers need even more support than others! If anyone is interested in more information, please visit http://www.adoptaussoldier.org/.

Reader Jennifer contacted me and informed me she currently is a member of this organization and has two adopted soldiers. She has been sending care packages and was hoping to get together several items for gift bags for her soldiers to share with others in their unit. If you are local to the Katy area and want to contribute without adopting a soldier of your own, please contact Jennifer(jennifer @ theextremehousewife dot com) for more information.

For non-locals, take a look at the website. Trial size items are PERFECT for soldiers stationed overseas. This is a WIN-WIN situation. You help those serving our country with much needed items, and for those with families, you take that expense OUT of their budget AND you get a decluttered house! I know I have more Blistex, deodorant, razors, toothpaste, and fruit snacks then I will EVER be able to use, and these much needed items would certainly be appreciated by those soldiers stationed overseas. Judging from the quotes I read from the soldiers, this program is a SUCCESS.

50 MORE free Disney Movie Rewards Points

I learned another easy way to score another free 50 points to your Disney Movie Rewards account. Just log into your account and click on the Blu-Ray button at the stop of the screen. It should pop up an intro to Blu-Ray which you can skip. You can choose to watch a video about HD and Blu Ray and at the end they will reward you with 50 points! How easy is that? I had it playing in one window while checking email etc and it played about 10 minutes. Had some pretty interesting things to say too.
And now I am 50 points closer to that High School Musical Bike, lol.

Randalls run - spent .39 real money!

I had a great friend supply me with a few more Quaker Squares coupons since my dh can't get enough of this cereal(thank you Courtney!)

Since I was going anyway, decided to take advantage of a couple more sales deals going on.

One is the Suave deodorant. They are just $1.25 if you buy at least 4 in one transaction. Combining that with the $1.25/1 and $3/2 IPs nets free and profit deodorants.

Another is the Colgate toothpaste. I had $.75 insert coupons expiring tonight and found they were $1 if you bought at least three in a transaction. Coupling that coupon with the $1 Randalls booklet coupon made each a .75 profit

I also found $3/3 store coupon peelies for coke and they were $3.33 each if you bought at least 3 together. I had $1/2 peelies I had from before and scored a great deal on those too.

I think I faired rather well. I didn't give my Randalls coupon until after everything was scanned(got distracted) and my total was pennies above $200.

Tax: -.95
Cost oop: .39

Earned $10 for frozen food deal, $2.50 for BC snacks and $2 for Tylenol

So total cost for everything:
$10+$8 +$3.50 + .39 - $14.50 = $7.39
(DH called and said he needed sinus medicine so I bought the Tylenol because the cat deal was advertised, making it the cheapest, turns out that was my BIGGEST expense, lol!)

Also, was excited to get the monkey bread as my MIL gives it to the girls as a breakfast dessert, so I wanted to treat them tommorrow if they clean their plates!

*In my excitement to see the toothpaste on sale and to confirm the size for the coupons, it did not dawn on me the Randalls coupon specifies Total and I bought Max Fresh, oops, thanks for pointing out my mistake reader Mary.
